Treat Others How You Want To Be Treated: Verses That Reminds Us To

How To Treat Others As A Christian

Yet, there is something that won’t allow me to just simply be done with people. There are people like my dear friend, the prompting of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that still gives us the ability to treat others the way you wanted to be treated – despite their treatment towards me. There are three bible verses about treating others with dignity and respect that you may find helpful.

  • Matthew 5:43-48

  • Colossians 3:17, 23-24

Bible Verses About Treating Others Equally With Kindness

We are living through difficult times and Gods steadfast love can cure all. Be an example of Jesus Crist and the compassion he had. The acts of a Christian leader are testing, yet so rewarding.

  • We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you. 1 Thessalonians 5:12 ESV
  • Let Love Be Genuine Abhor What Is Evil Hold Fast To What Is Good Love One Another With Brotherly Affection Outdo One Another In Showing Honor

You may be familiar with the phrase you have to fake it until you make it. Unfortunately, this phrase doesnt work regarding how we care for others. If your actions arent heartfelt, that might signify that you have some issues you need to work through. If you dont love someone, it will eventually show with jealousy, envy, and hatred, as described in Galatians 5:20-21. The best way to nurture your love for others is to deepen your relationship with God. When you walk in the Spirit, you start showing the fruit of the Spirit.

Treating others with kindness and respect can be challenging, especially if they havent been the nicest to us. However, we must treat them this way because thats what God wants. We are extensions and representatives of Jesus Christ, so we must follow His example and treat others with compassion.

    Be Kind To Your Enemies

Jesus always challenges us to partake in unconventional actions, right? His ways always seem against societal norms of todays times. But, we can look at Matthew 5:43-48, which explain that you should love or be kind to your enemies. We are not only challenged to show love, but you are asked to go above and beyond as Christ followers.

46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles,

    Proverbs 24:17 ESV

Usually, having malicious satisfaction towards the misfortune of an enemy often comes with arrogance, attitude, and mockery.

Jesus taught us to love and forgive our enemies, this involves sharing in their grief, not gloating when theyre grieving.

If we turn around and gloat in their misfortune, God may turn against us in dissatisfaction and as a punishment turn His anger away from our enemies.

The Golden Rule is known as a common saying we have all clinged to when teaching our children right from wrong. A reminder of, dont do anything you wouldnt want done to you.

An effective teaching of how to treat others when others own interests fall into bad behavior towards family members.

Little children learn from human behavior around them and the genuine affection we give to others. Pay special attention to not only your words but actions and reactions towards others.

When you play back moments of interactions with dear friends, you can correct fault behavior. Spiritual growth is seen when you are now able to correct and replace bad reactions with the ways of God.

Let the face of the Lord open your heart to treat others with not only respect but with compassion and love as he has for us.

    How To Treat One Another

Scripture is full of specific instruction on how we should treat each other. If we’re serious about following Christ, we will heed his admonition that “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me” .

The following Scriptures explain clearly what God expects from us in this regard. Read them carefully and consider how to apply them in your life:

Leviticus 19:11 Do not steal. Do not lie. Do not deceive one another.

John 13:14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.

John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

John 13:35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Romans 12:16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Romans 13:8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.

Romans 14:13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother’s way.

Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Romans 16:16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings.

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

    Romans 12:10 ESV

Paul describes sincere or genuine love as an act of kindness or devotion towards a sibling. God has adopted every one of us into his family, therefore we must share a sense of loyalty, belonging, and oneness that surpasses normal friendships with each other.

This is so that each individual in the family of Christ will have a sense of relevance and feel deeply honored, and will be motivated to want to do more for another.

What Does The Bible Say About Fair Treatment

Proverbs 21:3 – Treat Others Right

Fair treatment is described in specific bible verses in Galatians and Matthew. It was the golden rule to treat everyone fairly from poor men to rich younger women.

Gods children are all equal and will remain that way regardless of sin, gender, or status. The name of our Lord Jesus Christ who washed his disciples feet is the same man who died on a cross for your sins.

Through this he showed that the eyes of the Lord exempts nobody from receiving greater respect than the person next to you.

As People Of God We Should Seek To Treat Everyone With Kindness

Treating others with kindness is one of the basic tenets of Christianity. As Paul says in Galatians 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ While the word kind is not used here, to love your neighbor as yourself necessarily implies kindness toward others. Lets look at some Bible verses specifically about treating others with kindness.

The Second Is This: You Shall Love Your Neighbor As Yourself There Is No Other Commandment Greater Than These Mark 1: 31 Esv

It is a direct teaching from God of the greatest commandment. The word of God tells us that it is in fact wrong to cast judgment on younger men and older men. Leviticus 19:15 is saying to judge your neighbor fairly.

This favorite bible verse is one that you have used when speaking to others about the treatment you are personally enduring. It is easy to judge, yet hard to accept judgment on yourself from the interest of others.

Christ Jesus commands us to love family members and good friends as we unconsciously love ourselves. Although this may not come naturally, good things will come when treating others, the way God created.

Not everyone is easy to love, yet with selfless love you are capable of loving every person. Prayers for others can go a long way when unsure of what your next step is.

A greater love is to love those without judgment, ridicule or shame placed upon them by you. Accept dear friends as the name of our Lord Jesus Christ unapologetically loves us.

Verses On How We Should Treat Others

Love others as Christ loves you.

The Bible explicitly tells us how to treat others, but its no surprise that we still struggle. Phrases like do unto others as you would have them to you, love others as Christ loves you, and live peaceably with others are so popular that theyve become cliché. However, how the Bible says we should treat others hasnt changed.

All humans share the earth. We worship and work together, drive on the same highways and live together. Unless you live under a rock, you constantly deal with people. From the start of creation, God created us to be a community. After He made Adam, God realized that man shouldnt be alone, so He created Eve. Sadly, humanity struggles with living with each other according to Gods plan, thanks to our sinful nature, as described in Psalm 51:5.

When the Bible tells us how to treat others, its not a recommendation. Its good advice, but its necessary if you want to follow Gods will. Treating others with respect is so important to God that He included numerous passages on how we should treat others. In life, you will come across all types of people some will be easier to be around, and others will not.

Despite the problematic personality types youll meet, if youve committed to following Jesus, you must know and obey what the Bible says about dealing with others. Here are some Bible verses on how we should treat others.

Respect and honor should be shown to everyone, according to the Bible. Even though our culture would say otherwise, as many people today feel that you simply give respect to receive respect. But according to the Christian faith, you should respect everyone, period whether they show you respect or not.

Believe me, it’s not always easy but it is the Christian way. That is why we have help and strength available to us from God. It is beyond our own finite abilities.

Respect is used more frequently in our Western language than honor. Nevertheless, the two carry similar meanings. Even in scripture, the two words are used and translated in place of each other.

In our society, we tend to look at honor as something given to a person of great distinction and accomplishment. But, on the contrary, respect is used more freely and is a word that can be attributed to anyone.
