Bible Verses About Who God Is

I Will Joyfully Submit To His Will

Bible Verse of the Day – December 1st 2022

All the people of the earth are nothing compared to Him. He has the power to do as He pleases among the angels of heaven and with those who live on earth. No one can stop Him or challenge Him, saying, What do You mean by doing these things?

God is the sovereign ruler of the universe. There is no higher authority. Our great God possesses every ability He needs to be in absolute control of everything. He is all-powerful, so no one can force Him to do anything against His will. He is present everywhere, so no one can hide from Him or escape His scrutiny. He is all-knowing, so there is nothing about which He is unaware.

Nothing occurs without His divine permission. God commands the forces of nature and uses them to achieve His divine purposes. He established the scientific laws that regulate the universe, and only He can overrule their effect. Even Satan and his legions of evil spirits can operate only within limits prescribed by God.

God also sovereignly directs people, circumstances and events. Daniel explains, determines the course of world events He removes kings and sets up other kings . Without Gods sustaining providence, none of us could live another day. The life of every living thing is in His hand, and the breath of every human being .

Do you feel overwhelmed by circumstances? Be encouraged: Your loving God is still in control, and He is sovereignly directing your life. Proverbs 19:21 states, You can make many plans, but the LORDs purpose will prevail .

Verses About The Goodness Of God

God is good. But what does that meanthat God is good?

The more I studied this word in the Bible, the more one central concept seemed to jump out: Gods goodness conveys His generosity. His goodness means far more than His generosity, but it certainly includes His infinitely generous attitude toward us. By nature, He longs to bring joy and blessing to all His creatures.

The Bible repeatedly presents goodness as a core quality of our Lord, and I wanted to share just 23 of those occasions. These 23 verses point you to the goodness of our God and what it means for our lives.

  • The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth. Exodus 34:6
  • Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34
  • And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: For He is good, for His mercy endures forever toward Israel. Ezra 3:11
  • Good and upright is the Lord. Psalm 25:8
  • Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6
  • The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works. Psalm 145:9
  • No one is good but One, that is, God.
  • Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:17
  • He loves righteousness and justice the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Psalm 33:5
  • Equipped To Do Gods Will

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

This is a beautiful passage to end on. Theresurrection of Jesushas put an exclamation on what we already knew to be true: our God is mighty and all-powerful. And the same power that was able to raise Jesus from the dead will equip us with everything we need to accomplish His will!

He Forgives Me Of My Sins When I Sincerely Confess Them

Have mercy on me, O God, because of Your unfailing love. Because of Your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Do not banish me from Your presence, and dont take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me again the joy of Your salvation, and make me willing to obey You. or If we confess our sins to Him, He Is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.

God is the master of mercy. His very nature desires to relieve you of the self-imposed misery and distress you experience because of your sin.

All humanity benefits from Gods mercy to some degree. Jesus stated, He gives His sunlight to both the evil and the good, and He sends rain on the just and on the unjust . But God also has a sovereign mercy He shows to those who are His. In gratitude, this is the mercy you are to share with others.

God shows you mercy because He compassionately cares about you. The prophet Isaiah states, The LORD comforts His people and will have compassion on His afflicted ones . Your loving Father cares about what you are going through. The gospels are filled with examples of how Jesus was moved with compassion and acted to help those who were sick, suffering and in need. Consider the blind man, Bartimaeus, or the ten lepers. Jesus reached out His hands and healed them. Or the woman caught in adultery: He spoke compassionately to her and forgave her.

And Jesus Said Unto Him Why Callest Though Me Good There Is None Good But One That Is God Mark : 18

A common misconception about going to heaven is that its based on us. If we can be good enough, then God will let us in. But thats not how it works.

In Mark 10, a rich man asks Jesus what he must do to inherit eternal life. The man wants a checklist for entry into heaven. Jesus responds in verse 18 with a question.

The question serves two purposes: to highlight how the man did not realize who Jesus was and to emphasize that no one can obtain eternal life based on their own goodness. The rich young man believed his righteousness would earn him a spot in heaven. But when Jesus tells him to sell his possessions and give to the poor, the young man walks away disheartened.

We need not grow discouraged, though. God is good, and that means everything. We cannot be righteous on our own merits, but thats okay. In his goodness, God has provided a way. The answer to the young mans question stood right in front of him. God has made a way for us to have eternal life, not through our own goodness, but through the goodness and love of Jesus.

Trust What Jesus Did For You

Bible Verse of the Day – November 30, 2022

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

The confidence you have is in what Jesus did on the cross. Your sin required death. It required a sacrifice. Instead of you dying, Christ took that on Himself. He paid for your sins. Your faith is in who Jesus is and what Hes done, not in anything you have or will do.

Putting your faith in Jesus does not require a list of good deeds to earn good standing with God. You could never achieve what it takes to be in Gods presence. So a perfect, sinless Savior did what you could not. You can trust in this salvation because it is dependent on something Jesus has already accomplished.

Not My Will But The Will Of The One Who Sent Me

For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Fathers will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Jesuss entire life was marked by a steady inclination to do Gods will. Nothing would distract or deter Him from fulfilling what God had called Him to do. This is a critical mindset for us to have, even when we dont have complete clarity on Gods plans. We need to be committed to being obedient to what we know. And as we obey, the next steps become more explicit.

    When You Feel Rudderless

Sometimes when we feel like we lack direction, we start fixating on figuring out Gods will. Part of that comes from our desire to please God, and part of it arises from a desire to have the answers laid out for us. But its seldom as simple as we desire.

When You Ask He Hears You

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

Trust in God will increase your confidence in approaching Him. He has always been faithful. This verse follows the reassurance that if you believe what God says is true and you put your trust in Jesus, you have eternal life. That promise is where your confidence and trust come from.

Gods will for you is to know Him through a relationship with Jesus and to love Him and others as you grow to be more like Jesus. If you are confident that you are His because of a relationship with God through Christ, you can trust that He hears your prayers and provides for you in ways that fulfill His will.

20 Bible Verses About Depression, Hope and God

Gods goodness never reflects our behavior. We think if were good, then God will be good to us, and if were bad, then he wont. God doesnt operate that way. He always does the right and most loving thing, despite our actions.

He has said, though, that we reap what we sow. If we sow a life of poor choices, bad behavior, and rebellion, the results we experience in life will flow from that. Still, God offers us hope and freedom from our mistakes. He wants more for us, and Hes willing to help us to a better place.

Nehemiah 9:20 falls among a litany of verses describing Gods goodness to the nation of Israel despite their obstinance, disbelief, and rebellion. Gods goodness carried with it instruction to the people, so they might learn from their errors and turn to Him. His goodness to us isnt about improving our lives. He provides for us, so that we might grow and fully realize how Hes created us and what He has called us to do.

God is merciful and gracious. We see this illustrated in Nehemiah 9 through all the ways God provided for the nation of Israel despite their rebellious hearts. He offers the same mercy and grace to us today if we turn to Him, lay down our mistakes, and accept His good instruction.

When You Have Done The Will Of God

So do not throw away your confidence it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

As the early church would testify, sometimes following Gods will means walking through unique struggles and suffering. The author of Hebrews encourages readers to dig deep and find the stamina to keep going so we can receive what was promised.

    Seek First His Kingdom

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

It might seem counterintuitive, but one of the best ways to discover Gods will is to focus instead on pursuing Him and learning what it means to live as a citizen of Gods kingdom. The more we press in to Jesus, the clearer the path before us becomes.

God Wills We Avoid Sexual Immorality

It is Gods will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God.

When we think about Gods will, we tend to think about big questions like, What does God want me to do for a living? But there are many areas where God has already revealed His will for us, and when we are attentive to those areas, the others become a little easier to discern.

The first step to discerning Gods will is to obey Him in the things Hes already communicated to us.

Teach Me To Do Thy Will For Thou Are My God Thy Spirit Is Good Lead Me Into The Land Of Uprightness Psalm 1: 10

    DECEMBER 1st- 2022 ” Daily BIBLE Verses”

Learning a new skill requires two things: the teaching of the skill and the practicing of it. We dont automatically know how to knit or drive or ski. We must be taught. And so it is with our growth and following Gods will. It doesnt come naturally.

We may want God to make us follow His will, as if He could wave a wand, and our opposing wants and desires would turn into sweet, happy obedience. But God does not do that. Following Him is a skill we must learn.

In Psalm 143:10, David asks God to teach him. David clearly knew who God was and where man fell in relation to God, and he knew he couldnt attain the depth he desired in his walk with God in his own strength. He needed Gods help.

One way God guides us and teaches us is through His Spirit. The Spirit of God is good, and in His goodness, He leads us where we need to go if were willing to be led.
