  • Prayer Against Anxious Thoughts

Lord, you are a good God with good intentions behind all the works of your hands. Help me see the areas where Ive allowed lies to be sewn into my life. Once they are revealed, help me to hand them over to you and allow you to remove them from my life completely. I ask that once they are removed you would then fill the newly freed spaces with the truths of your word. In the midst of anxiety, help me always look to you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

    Lay Down Your Burdens

Bible verses to help with anxiety and worry

Before I share my 25 Bible verses for stress and anxiety, it is important to remember that many of our mental and emotional battles are caused by physical triggers. Research has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that eating a wholesome diet and avoiding harmful chemicals in our water and the air that we breathe can help stop stress and anxiety in its tracks.

Sadly, finding these things is becoming increasingly challenging in our fallen world as toxic chemicals have overtaken our soil and atmosphere. In spite of our efforts to purchase essential products for a healthy home, we still get sick and God is here to bless you with His healing touch when you need it.

Using natural therapies like essential oils for stress and aromatherapy for anxiety often prove to be effective remedies, and making your own DIY anxiety aromatherapy inhaler is a cinch!

But sometimes we need to address the spiritual and emotional root causes of anxiety. This verse in Psalms says, Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you He will never let the righteous be shaken.

It reminds me of how often the stress and anxiety we have in our life is something we place on ourselves. It becomes a burden. One we choose.

In these Bible verses about stress, one thing youll notice is the presence of the Lord. Hes always here for us able and willing to pick up our burdens. The question is, are you willing to let go?

Bible Verses For Overcoming Anxiety And Stress

Pin25The verses well look at today address eight of Gods promises. Would you like to experience more of Gods love? Or His peace? Perhaps you are hoping for His deliverance. If you are short on time, you can jump to a particular topic:God’s strength

Corrie ten Boom used to recite a little couplet: Worry is an old man with bended head, carrying a load of feathers which he thinks are lead. She understood that anxiety is foolish because it concerns that which isnt. It lives in an imaginary future. It deals in speculation and possibility. As long as we dwell on the worst-case scenario, we guarantee our own misery because an extensive catalog of calamity is always within reach of the imagination.

Worry weighs us down with its burdens. But what does lightheartedness look like? The first step is to view our burdens from Gods perspective. When we understand who He is and the promises He has made, our problems begin to seem more manageable.

Calm my thoughts and emotions and open my heart to your peace, comfort, and wisdom. Help me not to live in fear. Please reduce the feelings of fear and anxiety that plague me. Help me rest in You and trust You as I navigate through this broken world. In Your name I pray, Jesus. Amen.

What Is The Difference Between Stress And Anxiety

Stress and anxiety are pretty similar, but they are not the same. Stress mainly involves external factors and pressure. For example, we might feel stressed because of extreme pressure at work or high expectations from the family. With stress, we know the root or the cause of it. These pressures may build up and cause us stress that can manifest in insomnia, digestive problems, and fatigue, among others.

Anxiety might share some of the same symptoms as stress, but that is where the similarities end. Stress can be more focused on the pressure that we feel from outside factors, while anxiety is more centered on our worries. More often than not, people who feel anxious cannot pinpoint what is causing it. For sure, though, stress and anxiety negatively affect our lives, and God does not want that.

    Bible Verses To Fight Stress

Bible verses for stress and anxiety | Scriptures for stress and anxiety

    1. Psalm 94:19: When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy.

The author of Psalm 94 had been targeted by evildoers who were jubilant and full of boasting . He had been crushed by others , and powerful people had abused him . But just when his foot was slipping and he thought he might be dying, Gods unfailing love supported him and Gods consolations brought him joy amid his stress . What are Gods consolations? Among other things, they are the promises we find in His Word, the sense of His presence in our lives, and the endless blessings He gives us. The word consolation means that which consoles. Our loving Lord consoles us in anxious times like a tender parent holding a frightened child. His consolations bring us joy when things go wrong.

    2. Proverbs 12:25: Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.

The writer of Proverbs knew from personal experience that stress feels like a weight. When were anxious, its like trying to run in a waterlogged wool coat. We trudge from step to step. There is no countermeasure like a kind wordeither from a friend or counselor, or from the Lord Himself in His unfailing Word. Instead of reciting your problems to people over and over, give a trusted friend the short version and ask him or her to give you some encouraging insight or some verse of Scriptureand then focus on the kind word you hear.

    4. 1 Peter 5:7: Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for You.
