Bible Verses About The Prophecies Of Jesus Birth

The Birth of Jesus: Luke 1-2

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

It must have been so exciting to be one of the people who heard the miracles in the prophecy of Isaiah, especially when people were suffering and waiting for someone to save them.

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.

Bethlehem was tiny, but it is now well-known among anyone who hears about the birth of Jesus because, in something so small, salvation came to earth.

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Jesus teachings, actions, birth, and especially His life are all about humility.

The Gift Of God Is Eternal Life

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In the center of the Garden of Eden were two trees. The Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. God instructed Adam that they were not to eat of the latter tree. If they did, they would certainly die . When they disobeyed, sin and death entered into the human experience.

All of us are under a curse. And without Jesuss intervention, death is the outcome. But the gift we received on that first Christmas was the promise of eternal life. This child would sacrifice Himself to free us from the curse-and His resurrection would conquer death.

To Be Made Like His People

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroythe one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham. Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect,so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Hebrews 2:14-17

Jesus Came Into The World To Save Sinners

Pin on Scripture

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Paul frames the incarnation as a rescue mission. Jesus came into the world to liberate us and save us from our captors. Whats inspiring here is that Paul calls himself the worst of sinners. He isnt looking at others as the reason that Jesus had to come Paul considers himself the great transgressor.

The patience and mercy that Jesus shows Paul leads the apostle to write one of the most rousing benedictions ever, Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Print Your Write Color And Memorize Set

  • Sometimes readers are concerned about using colored ink. If this is the case for you, there should be a setting on your printer that allows you to print in black and white. Printing in grayscale will still use some color, but it will come out prettier than black and white.
  • Print the bookmarks and memory verse cards duplex and have them flip on the short side.
  • I recommend printing the bookmarks and memory verse cards on white cardstock so they will be more durable with no bleed-through.

Make learning verses from the Bible fun for your children with lots of joyful encouragement!

That We Might Receive Adoption

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

The incarnation wasnt early, and it wasnt late. Jesus came into the world at just the right time. Pauls adoption metaphor would have been meaningful to his Gentile audience. If a wealthy family didnt have children of their own, they would adopt someone to become their heir and inherit their wealth.

This is what God did for us. Through Jesus, we can all be Gods children and inheritors of His kingdom.

Bible Verses About Peace On Earth

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.

Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Fathers Son, will be with us in truth and love.

The Visit Of The Magi

Pin on Bible Verses

Matthew 2:1-12Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea when Herod was king. After Jesus birth, wise men from the east arrived in Jerusalem. They asked, Where is the one who was born to be the king of the Jews? We saw his star rising and have come to worship him.

When King Herod and all Jerusalem heard about this, they became disturbed. He called together all the chief priests and scribes and tried to find out from them where the Messiah was supposed to be born. They told him, In Bethlehem in Judea. The prophet wrote about this: Bethlehem in the land of Judah, you are by no means least among the leaders of Judah. A leader will come from you. He will shepherd my people Israel.

Then Herod secretly called the wise men and found out from them exactly when the star had appeared. As he sent them to Bethlehem, he said, Go and search carefully for the child. When you have found him, report to me so that I may go and worship him too.

After they had heard the king, they started out. The star they had seen rising led them until it stopped over the place where the child was. They were overwhelmed with joy to see the star.

When they entered the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary. So they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

God warned them in a dream not to go back to Herod. So they left for their country by another road.

Bible Meaning Of Christmas

The Word Became Flesh ~ John 1:1-18 ESV

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husbands will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

Wise Men And Shepherds Visit Jesus

Wise Men, who were the Magi from the east, the scholars of Babylon came to worship Jesus. These were some of the most learned men in the world. They had books of Jewish prophecy from the time of the Babylonian captivity. They saw that the Messiah had arrived, and they wanted to worship Him. Shepherds were the first visitors to worship Christ. They were some of the most uneducated men in that culture. Both groups of people were called to come and see the Messiah. Christianity isnt just a religion for one group of people or for one culture it is for all of Gods people all over the world.

10. Matthew 2:1-2 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.

The Word Became Flesh

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Johns opening homily finds its crescendo here. This Word of God that was there in the beginning and through which everything was created put on our flesh and entered into our experience.

He tells us that the disciples were eyewitnesses to his glory. His Gospels unfolding story tells us about this Messiah so full of grace and truth.

Scripture About Christmas Kjv

New Birth in Christ to an Eternal Inheritance. 1 Peter 1:3-5. (#2)

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men. Luke 2:8-14

Will Be Called The Son Of God

The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

An angel named Gabriel tells Mary that she will have a son. Naturally, she struggles to understand because shes a virgin. The angel tells her that she will conceive when the Holy Spirit overshadows her.

Not only is the Lord called the Son of God, but He also called Himself the Son of Man. To learn a little bit more about this mysterious title, check out the post Why Did Jesus Call Himself the Son of Man?

She Wrapped Him In Cloths And Placed Him In A Manger

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

The apostle John tells us that when he had a vision of the glorified Jesus, he fell at the Lords feet like a dead man . Think about that for a moment. John spent three years with Jesus, but that didnt prepare him to see the Lord as He truly is.

Whats impressive is that this powerful Being chose to set aside His divinity and be born to a young peasant girl and laid in a feeding trough. His humility is as inspiring as His majesty.

The Birth Of Jesus The Messiah

Matthew 1:18-25This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, , was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. Joseph, son of David, the angel said, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.

All of this occurred to fulfill the Lords message through his prophet: Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means God is with us.

When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife. But he did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus.

Luke 2:1-14In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. And everyone went to his own town to register.

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”
