Our family has had its share of ups and downs over the years.

Weve experienced catastrophic health incidents, lost loved ones, and had our share of difficult situations in our lives.

Through it all weve been able to keep our heads above water not because of anything weve done on our own, but because of our strong faith in Christ.

God gives us strength when ours is depleted.

He walks by our side and gives us the strength to carry on.

The main place that we get inspiration is from the Bible. Today I want to share a number of bible verses about faith that you can look to when times are hard.

How Do I Build My Faith And Trust In God

Start by trusting God for little things

One practical way to increase faith and trust in God is to trust Him in little things. Start today by trusting God for the little things like that $20 bill that needs to get paid. Yes, something as little as that. Trust Him for that, ask Him to meet that need.

Bible Verses About Love: Gods Love For Us

Gods love for us abounds and is never-ending. He loved us so much that he gave his only son to die for our sins, and all we have to do is accept his gift in faith.

When you accept His gift and trust in Him, youll be changed forever. Here are some scriptures about Gods love.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Our pride insists we must work our way to God. Only the Christian faith presents Gods grace as unconditional. Randy Alcorn

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

John 15:9-12 I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Fathers commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.

1 Corinthians 13:13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three but the greatest of these is love.

Though our feelings come and go, Gods love for us does not C.S. Lewis

Have A Lifestyle Of Faith

According to this, it can be said that believing in God goes beyond serving in the church or helping the needy.

It is having a lifestyle seeking him at all times, accepting his will and that his trust is placed in his hands, and that any circumstance will not separate them from him.

But ask with faith, not doubting anything because he who doubts is like the wave of the sea, that is carried by the wind and tossed from one place to anotherâ .

In this way, when doubt comes into a personâs life, it will weaken their faith and cause their spiritual life to diminish in their search for the Lord.

Those promises will be stopping because he will turn his back on God and what He wants is that everyone can receive his blessings without hesitation.

Bible Verses For Faith And Courage When Belief Is Hard

There are times where our faith will be tested, and remaining in your faith may seem difficult. If we look to Him for strength, however, he will help us through our trials.

Do like the apostles and others did, and ask him to increase your faith!

Faith. It does not make things easy, it makes them possible. Anonymous

1 Peter 1:6-7 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies goldthough your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

1 Corinthians 2:3-5 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirits power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on Gods power.

Luke 17:5 The apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith!

Immediately the boys father exclaimed, I do believe help me overcome my unbelief!

Proverbs 23:18 Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.

Romans 12:3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

What Does Bible Say About Faith

According to the bible, faith is considered as having confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Trusting God completely with our heart, mind, and soul does not exactly show our trust in him. But, trusting him in the impossible times, when you think you cannot meet the ends is called faith. There might be situations in our life which are hard to go through. Those are the times where God tests our trust to see how good we are in trusting him. Whatever the situation in your life is when you believe in the almighty, thats it, you win the game. You get control of things and power over your condition, faith brings you out of your hardships.

Three main components of faith

Knowing Christ: One must first know about the Lord completely, the facts in the scriptures and the miracles he has done.

Believing Christ: Trusting in him and agreeing to the facts that he is born for us, sacrificed his life for our sins, rose again from the death. Accepting him completely and trusting that he is the creator is called believing in him.

Living like him: After you believe, you forget your past life and submit yourself to him. You live for him and prove it in your actions by resembling him. Not giving up on him even in worst times and throwing light into the world through gospel by resembling him is the third component of faith.

How do you build faith in God?

Hope these bible stories about faith will help you to grow spiritually.

To Teach Us That We Can Do The Impossible

David wouldnt have defeated Goliath if he didnt have faith that God was more significant than the giant. Esther wouldnt have found the courage to stand in front of the king if she didnt believe God was in control. Our faith in Gods plan for us pushes us out of our comfort zones and gives us the strength to do the impossible.

A Letter To Believers: Ephesians

What is Biblical Faith?

Unlike the gospel of John and the book of Acts, Ephesians is a letter from the Apostle Paul to the believers in Ephesus.

Christianity begins not with a big DO, but with a big DONE God has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing.

Watchman Nee, a Chinese church leader and teacher, distils the essence of Ephesians into three simple words: Sit. Walk. Stand, and says Ephesians abounds with spiritual riches, and yet is intensely practical.

He writes: Christianity does not begin with walking it begins with sitting.

For Christianity begins not with a big DO, but with a big DONE. Thus Ephesians opens with the statement that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. And we are invited at the very outset to sit down and enjoy what God has done for us not to set out to try and attain it for ourselves.

Introduction to the book: In the book of Ephesians, we see how the Gospel story affects believers everyday lives. God, the Father, planned throughout history for Jesus to create a multi-ethnic community of followers. Consisting of Jews and non-Jews, these followers form the family God promised to Abraham. They live in unity as one body in their families, neighbourhoods, and churches because of Gods grace.

How To Know If I Have Faith In God Or If It Is Custom

One of the things a believer needs to understand is that to have authentic faith, you donât necessarily have to do:

  • Recite a biblical text.
  • Make donations to the poor.

All this can be a routine that has developed over time, being tradition.

The fact that a person performs good works or is a believer in God, does this represent an authentic Faith? this needs to be analyzed.

Because if there is a conviction that God is real or is it simply a habit or routine doing it out of innate love for God.

In this sense, it must be said that true faith is not tested when all things are well.

But when a difficulty approaches through an illness or the death of a family member due to economic problems.

These are some of the examples that can shake a personâs faith

It is for this reason that when adversity arrives, many stop attending church or seek to resolve these situations with their own strength.

And seeing that they are not resolved, you can feel resentment towards God, discouraging you from seeking his presence, bringing the complaint into your life, because you do not accept the will of the Heavenly Father.

The Book Of Acts: What Happens Next

The book of Acts continues the story of the Gospel and how it changed life on earth after Jesus came. It is a powerful testimony of how the early church was established by the work of the Holy Spirit and it is easy to see how that work is continuing today, even in the Church in Singapore.

Introduction to the book: Before Jesus was taken to heaven, He instructed His followers to be a witness for Him. Jesus followers received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost and became filled and equipped to spread the good news that would restore Gods kingdom over the world. Through persecution, the believers were scattered. They continued to preach, and the church at Antioch was born.

It grew into the first multiethnic, international church from which missionaries were sent throughout the world to preach about Jesus.

Books Of The Bible You Should Read Again And Again

Growing up, I thought the Bible was a real snoozer. I had no idea it contained the living, breathing Word of God. The only Good Book I had ever seen was my great-grandmothers original King James Bible, the 1611 version, and it put me to sleep. I didnt know why Jesus was so important, but I had an inward longing to know God, so Id pick up that cracked blue leather Bible with crinkled pages and read page one of Genesis…

…until drowsiness overtook me. Then Id put that antique Bible back on the shelf until next time. I read the first chapter of Genesis about fifteen times as a teen, but that was as far as I got.

When I came to faith as a college student, I discovered the power of Gods Word. Reading a modern translation, I began to understand Gods love for me. As a desperate young mom years later, I discovered that Gods Word gave me peace and encouragement. When I began to parent teens, I learned Gods Word imparted wisdom and strength. In todays world, against the backdrop of grim headlines in the news, I find hope on its pages. I find joy that sustains me in my weak moments.

The Bible is a living book with a timeless message. The more we read it, the more Gods words get into us. We get to know God better. We find wisdom and guidance for how to deal with our crazy lives. We find peace for our troubled times and hope for our hard moments.

The Blind Faith Of Three Young Men

This is one of the best bible stories about faith in hard times which inspires us to follow God from a young age. It was that time when King Nebuchadnezzar ruled the Babylonian empire. He ordered his kingsmen to find the smartest and strongest men from the Judah to serve his kingdom. The kingsmen bought three youngsters named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who excelled in every work. One day, the king has set up an idol which was tall and made of Gold. He ordered everyone to bow to the Idol but the three friends denied. The angry king shouted, If you do not bow to the Idol, you will be thrown into a hot furnace and your family turns into dust. They said, Our God would come and rescue us if thrown into the fire and even if he doesnt save us, we would not bow down to your Idol.

This made the king even angrier and he ordered soldiers to heat up the oven seven times greater than usual. They threw all three into the fire when the king peeped in, he saw four people standing in the fire and knew that it was an angel. He called them out and saw them unharmed. He then shouted, Praise the God of these young ones, their God has sent his angel and saved his servants from the fire! King later passed a law that whoever speaks against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego will be cut into pieces. It was their belief that saved them from such a frightening situation and bought them out alive. There are more amazing bible stories of great faith like this below.

Whats So Important About Reading The Bible

Christians believe that the Bible is the Word of the Creator God .

It is common to hear Christians say, God said, and you might wonder how?

While God is not one to be boxed in and limited by our understanding of His ways, one channel that God speaks to us is through His word, which is described by the writer of Hebrews as alive .

It is common to hear Christians say, God said , and you might wonder: How?

In the book of 2 Timothy, the Apostle Paul tells his disciple, Timothy, that all Scripture is God-breathed. One translation translates it more simply as inspired by God .

The purpose of the Bible? To prepare and equip His people to do every good work.

No one enters into a new relationship without communication as a child of God, our relationship with God is no different.

God desires to speak to us and He often does it through what He has already revealed in the Bible, the word of God .
