If you have yet to get a vaccine, we strongly encourage you to do so. The Diocese has a webpage summarizing the Catholic Teachings on vaccinations and the COVID vaccine that you can review HERE. Catholic Position On Covid Vaccine: Get It

There has been confusion resulting from statements made by some U.S. bishops about the moral acceptability of certain vaccines. Those statements can be confusing for good-Catholics. To clarify the situation the California Catholic Conference, made up of bishops in California including our Bishop Cantú, have authored an article, Catholic Moral Teaching and Tradition on Covid-19 Vaccines. The article expresses the position that it is not only morally acceptable to be vaccinated, but also an act of Christian charity to do so. Knowing that Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI received the vaccination may also help you to navigate this Catholic confusion.” READ ARTICLE

California Catholic Conference and California Bishopson Proposition 1What is Proposition 1?

Proposition 1 would enshrine the explicit right to abortion in our state constitution, setting a nationwide precedent. It is the most egregious expansion of abortion this country has ever seen. Its also the first time ever that CA voters are being asked to vote for unrestricted late term abortion, ending any real chance for California to protect unborn life in future laws. Recent in-depth polling shows that a strong majority of California voters oppose late term abortions, oppose turning California into an abortion sanctuary state, and oppose using tax dollars to pay for abortions.

Prop 1 is misleading, expensive, and unnecessary – and we can stop it.¿Qué es la Proposición 1?

La Proposición 1 es engañosa, costosa e innecesaria, y podemos detenerla.

    Meet Our Adopted Seminarian

As you might know, the Office of Vocations in the Diocese of San Jose has begun a new initiative where different parishes adopt and pray for a specific seminarian and in kind, the seminarian prays for that specific community. We are pleased to announce that our adopted seminarian is Robert Lamorena. Although we are not able to meet Robert in person right now, due to the pandemic, he has kindly written two letters to our parish. Read Robert’s letters: INTRODUCTION | HELLO. If you would like to help support Robert and his seven brother seminarians as they journey through their formation, you can do so here.

Sign Up For The Sacrament Of Confirmation

  • We are accepting registration for the Sacrament of Confirmation and encourage parents to sign up your children ASAP. Please download a form here or pick one up in the church vestibule. SIGN-UP FORM |

    • Why it is important to be confirmed? Confirmation is a sacrament of initiation in which the one who is confirmed receives the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This sacrament establishes young adults as full-fledged members of the faith the faith given in baptism is now confirmed and made strong. During your baptism, your parents and godparents make promises to renounce Satan and believe in God and the Church on your behalf. At confirmation, you renew those same promises, this time speaking for yourself.

    • During confirmation, the focus is on the Holy Spirit, who confirmed the apostles on Pentecost and gave them the courage to practice their faith. We believe that the same Holy Spirit confirms Catholics during the sacrament of confirmation and gives them the same gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude , knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. These gifts are supernatural graces given to the soul. It might be a time for your children to experience those graces.
