What Did Dinosaurs Eat
The Bible teaches that the original animals were commanded to be vegetarian. There were no meat eaters in the original creation. Furthermore, there was no death. It was an unblemished world, with and animals living in perfect harmony, eating only plants.
Sadly, it did not stay this way for very long. Adam rebelled against his Creator, bringing sin into the world . Because of this rebellion, Adam, and thus all of his descendants , gave up the right to live with a Holy and just God. God therefore judged with death.
The Bible plainly teaches from Genesis to Revelation that there was no death of animals or humans before Adam sinned. This means there could not have been any animal fossils before sin.
After Adams sin, animals and people started to die. It was now a different world, one of death and strife. A world that was once beautiful now suffered under the curse placed upon it by the Creator . But a promise was given that God would provide a way for the penalty of sin to be paid so there would be a way for man to come back to God.

We have so many issues with children and adults interpreting the Bible literally! I am often unsure how to answer them because I dont want to think that the Bible is just stories! Its so tricky. So I am writing to you for some advice. Our latest question comes from an 8th grade student in our Catholic school but its been asked before by some of our younger students too! The question is: how do dinosaurs fit into the creation story? I would like to have your perspective on how to answer this question for middle school, elementary school and adults. I talked with the 8th grade religion teacher and tried to explain what you said in your book and I also copied the information on Biblical inerrancy from the Finding God website. The Genesis account is also silent about all kinds of creatures, especially if we consider the specific species or life forms falling under the larger categories listed in the Biblical record.. Many Christians believe the Bible describes a perfect world before Adams sin a world in which nothing dies.. Romans 5:12-14 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned- for before the law was given, sin was in the world.. In this particular verse, Paul is saying spiritual and physical death came to mankind as a result of the sin of Adam.. The Genesis 1 passage seems to be saying God gave plants to the animals to be eaten for food prior to the fall of Adam.. It simply says plants exist as part of creation to serve as food for the animals created next.. I think it is hard for some of us to imagine God would design any kind of death into His created world, especially the world of Adam and Eve prior to the fall.. And yes, dinosaurs did live and die before Adam was ever created.

No. Although these animals mentioned in the book of Job cannot be identified with certainty, Behemoth is generally identified as the hippopotamus and Leviathan as the crocodile. Would God have created dinosaurs? Why is there no mention of dinosaurs in the Bible, especially the creation account? In Creation, there are many creatures that were not mentioned by name that do exist. When thinking of dinosaurs, most first thoughts are of gargantuan, ferocious lizards. It makes it hard to believe that God would create something so monstrous for the Garden of Eden.
Actually, the fossil remains indicate that they were indeed a highly diversified group, ranging in size from that of a rabbit to tremendous beasts 20 feet high, 85 feet long, and weighing up to 50 tons. It appears that some were relatively light-footed and had bipedal locomotion, while others were quadrupedal and moved about in a slow and cumbersome manner. Some were carnivores and others herbivores. Certain types were well suited for aquatic habitat while others remained on land. However, most dinosaurs were relatively the size of humans.
Not only that, something to be considered is that humans at the time of Adam up until Noah lived hundreds of years. Adam died at 930 years, Methuselah died at 969, Noah lived 950 years. With such longevity, isn’t it only logical to believe that mankind grew larger and taller? True, it might not be the size of a 20-foot dinosaur, but perhaps proportional to how one experiences the grandiose size of a blue whale compared to the modern average human.

God sent two of every land animal into the Ark there were no exceptions. Therefore, dinosaurs must have been on the Ark. Even though there was ample room in the huge ship for large animals, perhaps God sent young adults into the Ark that still had plenty of room for them to grow.

What Happened To The Dinosaurs
So what happened to the dinosaur? Gods Word tells us that God sent a flood to destroy the earth and that only Noah, his family and the animals that he brought on the ark were spared. Because Noah was commanded by God to bring two of every kind of creature on the ark , he would have brought dinosaurs as well. Your first question probably has something to do with squeezing all those animals and large dinosaurs on a boat. Am I right?
First, we need to know that the ark was not a tiny boat with animal heads sticking out of the windows. God instructed Noah to build a massive structure that could hold not only the animals but also all the food along with Noah and his family. Secondly, Noah would have taken younger and much smaller dinosaurs on the boat so that they would be able to mature and reproduce after the flood.
After the flood, the earth was not the same and it was probably difficult for the dinosaurs to find enough food to survive. The climate changed and the earth entered the Ice Age. Since the dinosaurs were most likely reptiles, it would have been challenging for them to stay warm enough to live. No one knows for sure what happened to the dinosaurs but we do know that the dinosaurs arent the only animals to become extinct. Many animals over the years have died off due to all sorts of causes.
As a parent, you can confidently answer your childs questions about dinosaurs knowing that Gods Word is infallible and profitable for answering all of lifes questions.

Some such Christians take the reference to six”days of creation in Genesis 1 very literally to refer to six consecutive 24-hour periods.
