At some point while going through the pages, one must wonder how many chapters does the Bible have? For the most part, all Bibles have the same number of books, though some include additional books . But, across all books there is a fixed number of chapters, though some new translations have less or missing chapters.
For this answer, we will discuss the King James Version
When the books of the Bible were originally written, there were no chapters or verses. Each book was recorded without any divisions from the beginning to the end. The chapter and verse divisions were done for convenience. Thus, there is no inspirational basis for the breaks.
The divisions of books of the Bible into smaller sections started in the fourth century A.D. Codex Vaticanus, a fourth century Greek manuscript, used paragraph divisions. And in the fifth century, Jerome divided Scripture into short passages, called pericopes.
The person responsible for dividing the Bible into chapters and verses is Stephen Langton, an Archbishop of Canterbury. Langton put the modern chapter divisions into place in around A.D. 1227. The Wycliffe English Bible of 1382 was the first Bible to use this chapter pattern. Since the Wycliffe Bible, nearly all Bible translations have followed Langtons chapter divisions.

The middle verse in the Bible is Psalm 118:8, which, interestingly enough states, It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

What Is Heaven What Will Be Revealed Then
The other way of looking at this is by considering the heaven to come. Since heaven will eventually be our eternal home, how many of those heavens are there? Or is it just one place? Here is what the Bible says about our eternal dwelling place
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. Our eternal home, which we often refer to as heaven, the Bible refers to it as the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God. In the same way God originally created the earth for man to dwell in, God has created this new Jerusalem for his people to dwell in. This new Jerusalem appears after all the events of the end of the age and judgment have been completed. In this dwelling place, we will experience the fullness of Gods presence and dwell with him forever.

Unnecessary Additions To Kjv Text
John 18:5 The King James Bible, in an attempt to add clarity to what was said, made a grievous error when it added the word he to a phrase Jesus made when he was arrested. In John 18:5 it says that when a group of religious leaders stated they were looking for Jesus of Nazareth that Christ responded with the phrase, I am he.
The addition of he, however, in this KJV Bible obscures a profound revelation by our Savior. Our Lords response is more accurately translated as I AM. This short answer was his testimony that he was indeed God in the flesh and the God of the Old Testament! Such a declaration was so powerful that it knocked armed soldiers to the ground!
1John 5:7 The King James Bible states, For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. Most modern translations agree that this was an uninspired and erroneous addition to the Latin Vulgate used to support the unscriptural doctrine of the Trinity. This addition was not present in the original Greek manuscripts of the New Testament!
This verse should read And it is the Spirit that bears witness because the Spirit is the truth . Verse 8 of the chapter should read, For there are three that bear witness on the earth: the Spirit, and the water, and the blood and these three witness unto the one truth.

The Hope That We Have
For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Romans 8:24-25.

The Kjv Was Not The First Authorised English Translation Of The Bible
The KJV was not the first approved or first authorised English translation. The 1537 edition of the Coverdale Bible was officially approved by Henry VIII and it bears the royal license on the title page. Henry VIII then authorised The Great Bible . Thomas Cromwell, who was Vicar General and Henrys secretary, issued an injunction that a copy of the Great Bible be set up in every parish church. It was consequently the first English Bible formally authorized for public use.
