Bible Verses About Truth: 20 Great Scripture Quotes
Truth is defined by one source as sincerity in action, character, and utterance . Perhapsthe most famous verse about truth in the Bible is what Jesus said I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. So Jesus is truth and Jesus is also the Word .; As Christians we believe that every word in the Bible is true; this is the foundation upon which we live our lives. Knowing what the Bible says about truth and hiding Gods word in our heart helps us to know when we are listening to the Voice of Truth. Here are twenty great scripture quotes about truth.
What Does It Mean To Know The Truth

Bringing a spiritual perspective to daily life
Christ Jesus said, “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” . That’s a wonderful promise that can be taken seriously, especially when you feel the need for some sort of healing – whether the difficulty is injury, illness, financial hardship, a troubled relationship, or anything else. But just what does it mean to know the truth?
For something to be known, it really has to be true. You can’t know – correctly – that the earth is flat or that the sun revolves around the earth, although for centuries people thought they knew those fallacies to be accurate. They didn’t know; they believed.
The Bible has much to say about truth and directly relates it to God. In fact, the definition of truth in “Harper’s Bible Dictionary” includes the statement that “God is truth.” And this is how He is understood in Christian Science, the Science by which Jesus healed. “Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures,” written by Mary Baker Eddy, frequently uses Truth as synonyms for God. Knowing the truth, then, is knowing God in some degree. Daily study and prayer to understand Him better are the best means to this end. He is and knows only good. The Bible says that God is “of purer eyes than to behold evil” . And you can find specific truths God knows about His creation, which will abolish any evil belief that is troubling you – as well as the physical effect of that belief.

Are There Legitimate Objections To The Virgin Birth
There are possibly other ways which God could have chosen to send His Son into the world, but the fact is the way He chose to do it was through the virgin birth.
The Gospels record that Mary and Joseph did not have sexual relations until after Christ was born, and he kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus .
The New Testament also relates that Joseph was known not to have fathered Jesus and that most people had assumed Mary had an illicit relationship with someone.
Even though the virgin birth is given as a historical fact and certain things made the virgin birth essential, many still voice loud objections to its occurrence.
The main problem that people have with the virgin birth is that it is a miracle. Scripture does not treat this event as an ordinary occurrence but rather as a supernatural act of God. The miracle of the virgin birth should not pose any special problem if one grants the possibility of miracles.
Why, we may ask, is the virgin birth any greater miracle than say the feeding of the 5,000 or Jesus walking on water? If an all-powerful God does exist, who spoke all creation into existence, a virgin birth would not be beyond His capability.
A common objection to the virgin birth is that it is a biological impossibility, which was accepted by people ignorant of these things. C. S. Lewis made some pertinent observations in this view:

The Whole Universe Is A Muslim And Follows Islam
The Meaning of Islam and Muslim: Islam is an Arabic word. It is derived from two
root words: one Silm meaning Submission and the other Salm meaning Peace and
Safety. Islam stands for a Commitment to surrender ones will to the Will, Laws and
Commands of Allaah, the Creator of the universe. It is through submission to the Will
of Allaah that peace and safety is brought about. The one who surrender ones will to
the Will, Laws and Commands of Allaah, will be regarded as a Muslim. The one who
denies to surrender ones will to the Will, Laws and Commands of Allaah, and follow his own desires and fancies or ones ancestors desires and fancies will be regarded as
a Kaafir.
In short, Islam is a set of the Laws of the Creator of the universe. Muslim is the one
who follows the Laws of the Creator. And Kaafir is the one who rejects the Laws of
the Creator.

Why Do Christians Appeal To Fulfilled Prophecies To Prove The Bible Is Gods Word
Believers in Jesus Christ are constantly being asked why they believe the Bible to be inspired, and a common response is because of fulfilled prophecy. The argument from fulfilled prophecy is one of the strongest imaginable.
The apostle Peter, after testifying that he had seen Jesus Christ in all His glory, said, And so we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts . Peter here is appealing to fulfilled prophecy as a witness to the truth of the Scriptures.
The Bible itself gives the purpose of prophecy, Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things which have not been done .
I declared the former things long ago and they went forth from My mouth, and I proclaimed them. Suddenly I acted, and they came to pass. Therefore I declared them to you long ago, before they took place I proclaimed them to you, lest you should say, My idol has done them, and my graven image and my molten image have commanded them .
The New Testament spoke of the coming of Jesus Christ, Which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures .

A Better And Higher Standard
The Bible has a better and higher standard. It defines truth as being utterly reliable and enduring. The reason is simple: authentic, biblical truth is inextricably linked to the dependable, unchanging character of God. You can trust everything He says; He never lies; He always keeps His Word; Hes faithful to all His promises.
King David calls the Lord, God of truth . And He most certainly is the source of truth in the modern sense of the word, since He cannot lie . But more than this, and the very reason for His truthfulness, is that Hes completely faithful and reliable in all He does and says. Its not simply because God is truthful, but because God is faithful and trustworthy in very nature that David is able to say with confidence:
Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth (Psalm 31:5
Instead of God of truth here, the ESV, NIV, NLT, NRSV, and others have faithful God.22,23

Is The Bible True 3 Things You Need To Know
Is the Bible true literally true? At a talk I once attended by theologian Tim Hull, he made it simple. He;said the Bible is like your town library. If you were to stand in the middle of your town library and say: is this library true? .. well suddenly the question sounds unclear, even pointless.
Of course the Bible is also a library, a collection of 66 individual books, written over many centuries and situations. We trust its author but sometimes question;its contents. Some questions I have come across recently include:
- If Adam and Eve were the first family who did their children marry?
- Why do the Gospel accounts of Christs resurrection differ?
- Should women be silent in church?
- Are the numbers and time-periods in Revelation literally true?
Three facts will help us appreciate the splendid truths of the;Bible:
1st There are different kinds of;truth
Lets return to the library idea. In one corner of the library you may have books of history and yes they are true in that the kings and reigns they describe happened. But on another shelf there are books of poetry Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women . That is a kind of truth but different, poems are not literally true. Similarly in another room there may be books of Proverbs wisdom that helps us to navigate our world . Even a fool is thought wise if he remains silent, discerning if he holds his tongue! is a favourite of mine. ;Another kind of;truth.
In Closing
Is Lying Ever Okay
From all the preceding Bible verses, it would seem that lying would never be acceptable. However, this is not necessarily correct, since there are times that telling the truth would actually facilitate the exercise of evil. A good example of this principle occurred during World War II, when Christians hid Jews and lied to the occupying authorities to prevent their deaths. A biblical example occurred when Rahab the prostitute hid the Jewish scouts on her roof and lied to the king of Jericho to protect their lives.45Because of this act, her life was spared and she was counted as one of the people of faith in the New Testament book of Hebrews.46So, lying is okay only when not doing so would jeopardize innocent life.
