Sermons On Women In The Bible

Women Are Being Abused In This World

Does the Bible Permit a Woman to Preach?
  • Today, were going to do a study on the roles of women within the BIBLE.
  • Hey look, I LOVE the women in my life. Ive got a lot of them around me.
  • ALL OF THEM have ALWAYS been good to me and have ONLY wanted the best for me.
  • So, if you think I have ANYTHING against women, you would be 100% WRONG.
  • Why am I preaching this? Because the WORLD is ABUSING WOMEN and Im sick of it.
  • Im going to STAND UP for women no matter what the HATEFUL FEMINISTS in this world say.
  • Im going to STAND UP with this Bible TODAY and tell you what God says about women.

Women in the Bible are females, daughters, virgins, wives, mothers, and widows.

  • Thats the words Ive included within the Bible to study this topic today.
  • There are also women in the Bible who are harlots, idolaters, fornicators, whoremongers, busybodies.
  • Thats what you dont want to be. God doesnt want any of those things for you.
  • The world today, including all the false churches, are confusing everyone around.
  • The world today, including churches, are telling little girls that its okay to think youre a boy.

Churches are playing right into the hands of the WORLD by confusing the role of women in the church.

Little girls leave public schools each day thinking they might like other girls.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him male and female created he them.

Inspirational Strong Women Of The Bible

Strong women inspire me. From young girls using their voices to grandmothers raising up the next generation to be confident in themselves, its amazing to witness courageous women in action. And in a time where equality is still fiercely fought for, we want to celebrate International Womens Day by honouring some of the great women of the Bible whose strength and compassion still resonates.

And throughout the world, girls and women are being empowered every day through Compassion child sponsorship and Survival programmes to be their modern-day counterparts. From the faithful Martha to the courageous Abigail, we hope this collection of some of our favourite Bible stories of women encourages you.

The Daughters Of Zelophehad: Women’s Rights

And Moses brought their cause before the Lord. By the help of God the Holy Spirit, I want to use this incident, which forms a kind of episode in the rehearsal of the history of Israel’s forty years’ wanderings in the wilderness, for a twofold purpose. First, let me indicate its general teaching and, secondly, let me take it as a ground of appeal to certain special classes…

Why Would You Test God

There were all men with Jesus when the Lords Supper took place.

  • The Levites, all men, were over the service of the tabernacle.
  • The New Testament Church are to have men as the leaders. Men are to be teaching.
  • Women are to be under obedience to their husbands.
  • The Bible doesnt DIRECTLY say that its wrong for women to serve the Lords Supper.
  • But, do you really want to test God on every little thing?
  • Do you want to find a way around every law He sets? Thats what the Pharisees did.
  • They were the evil religious people who wanted to find a loophole in every law that God set.

I WILL NOT TEST GOD. I will do what HIS WORD says. And men will lead in everything within HIS CHURCH.

  • Thats the truth. Women arent to be preachers, bishops, deacons, or serve the Lords Supper.
  • God gave men that role. Outside of CHURCH, women are to preachers of the GOSPEL.
  • Thats the WORLDLY WOMEN trying to influence GODLY WOMEN. It wont work.
  • Be a GODLY WOMAN and obey the Bible. And remember, A GODLY WOMAN is hard to find.
  • FOR HER PRICE IS FAR ABOVE RUBIES!!! Stand out from this world. Be a GODLY WOMAN.
  • Its time to study the Bible with everything we have. I hope this sermon today has helped.

Lets pray.

God The Graceful 2 Samuel 1: 24

Women of the Bible Sermon Series: The Proverbs 31 Woman

The evidence of Gods mercy and grace is that He blessed them with another son, whom they named Solomon, which meant, Beloved of the Lord.

  • Bathsheba brought Solomon up in godly diligence and care.
  • It was Solomon who wrote, Train up a child in the way he should go, a clear reference to his own childhood.
  • It was Bathsheba who wrote Proverbs 31 as an admonition to Solomon regarding his marriage to Pharaohs daughter.
  • It was Bathsheba who forced David to keep his promise that Solomon would inherit the throne of the King.
  • The last mention of Bathshebas name is found in Matthew 1:6: David the King begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.
  • Bathsheba is a perfect portrait of a sinner saved by Gods amazing grace.

The Women Who Witnessed The Resurrection Of Christ

During the time of Christ, women were not allowed to be witnesses in the legal sense. Their testimony was not considered credible. Yet, it is women who are recorded in the gospels as the first to see the risen Christ and proclaim him to the rest of the disciples.

The accounts vary across the gospels, and while Mary Magdalene is the first to witness the risen Jesus in all four, the Gospels of Luke and Matthew include other women as witnesses too. Matthew 28:1 includes, the other Mary, while Luke 24:10 includes Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women.

How they exceeded expectations: These women were recorded in history as credible witnesses, in a time when men alone were considered trustworthy. This record has stumped many over the years who assumed the disciples of Jesus made up the resurrection account.

Four Influential Women Of The Bible

Linda Green

It wasnt until my children became teenagers that I finally acknowledged what Id suspected all along. I. Have. No. Control. Yet while finally coming to terms with that truth felt scary, it also sent me deeper into the gospel, training me to put my hope in the goodness and sovereignty of God rather than my current circumstances.

When we are unshakably confident of Gods love for us, regardless of what a day may bring, we will be able to say, It is well with my soul. And from this place of quiet rest God often uses our lives in ways we never imagined.

Not A Worldly Kind Of Influence

The world tells us that to have any significant influence we must be someone or do something that the culture considers important. However, there is a very wide gap between what the world says and what God says has value. The Bible teaches that the quiet influence of a gospel-centered life has eternal significance in often unexpected ways. Consider these four women of the Bible:

Strong Women In The Bible ~ What Made Ruth So Strong

Here we have a 40 something year old female in a time in which not having man was detrimental. Ruth could have easily threw a pity party for herself about the fact that she had no kids, no husband, and could have turned and left her mother in law in the desert while she went back to her country Moab.

But she didnt. She didnt know what the future held or how they were even going to live or find food. But in the end she did what she had to do including working in the field to provide for herself and her mother in law. She had to take on a provider role or a traditionally male role, so survive. Ruth is strong because she did not depend on a man for anything. Even though she got a man, she was fully prepared to handle her life on her own. You can also check out the video that I did on Ruth down below.

Strong Women In The Bible ~ Why Was Mary So Strong

Mary was a virgin when she got pregnant and she was betrothed to Joseph. Women freely have sex now but back in those days, having sex before marriage literally meant that you could be stoned to death. Even as Mary knew this, she still decided to get pregnant by the Holy Spirit. God can do anything but he also needs our consent to come into our lives and so when the angel told her she would get pregnant Mary had to consent to having this happen.

The angel said to Mary, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will cover you. For this reason the baby will be holy and will be called the Son of God.

Then the angel went away.Luke 1: 35-38

And just for GOOD measure. Remember when I spoke of Mary Magdalene. All of which were strong women and they were unofficial disciples in my opinion. Even after Jesus died, none of them coward away and they still followed Jesus and were up there with the men to spread the good news AND still very active in matters concerning the church.

Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath days walk from the city. When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.Acts 1:12-14

Wise Up About The Next Generation

What’s a parent to do with a child in this day and age? What’s a child to do with a parent? The New Testament says that children are to obey their parents, for this is right. Parents are told not to “exasperate” their children . That means don’t drive them up the wall! Instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Is this possible in this present evil age?ILove Is a Command.A.Parents must love their children.B. Oh my son. Prov. 31:1 II. Belief Must Affect Behavior. A.Parents must pray for their children. B. It’s not for Kings, Oh Lemuel. Prov. 31:4 III.Service Must Be Taught. A.Parents must train their children…

The Women Who Made A Difference

Today

Diana Hagee

  • The Women Who Made a Difference
  • As a pastor’s wife I often witness women struggle with realizing their value in Christ. They have no idea the power they possess to influence the world around them for the Kingdom of God. Our Father in heaven created both men and women in His image and He knows the potential we have to accomplish His will on earth.

God specifically elevates women to various positions of influence and uses them to advance the work of His kingdom. The Lord desires that we yield ourselves to Him in complete reliance, acknowledging that without Christ we can do nothing. God wants His children to trust that His Spirit will help us fulfill the special assignment He has selected. Bottom line, He is calling each one of us to be Difference Makers for our generation!

All the great women of the Bible possessed unique character traits, strengths and abilities. They are portrayed as judges, prophetesses, handmaidens, missionaries, queens and business women to name a few. But the most important trait to remember is that they were real everyday women like you and mewho believed and trusted God.

The Almighty chose Moses, Aaron and Miriam to lead Israel in the wilderness. But it was Miriam, who was entrusted with her baby brother Moses as she placed him in the Nile River to escape Pharaoh’s death sentence. And it was Miriam who led thousands of women in praise after the Israelites passed through the Red Sea, rejoicing with the words,

Strong Women In The Bible ~ 7 Leah The Woman With The Weak Eyes

The last of the strong women in the Bible is Leah. When we read the story of Leah we cannot help but to feel sorry for her. Her father had to trick a man into marrying her and she was always in a competition for her own husband over her sister Rachel. Rachel was prettier and their husband loved Rachel more and Leah was just known for her weak eyes.

There was no sparkle in Leahs eyes, but Rachel had a beautiful figure and a lovely face. Genesis 29:17

Notice that it does not say that Leah was unattractive but that her eyes were weak and had no sparkle. It was like she was depressed or something. On top of the fact that her father had to trick her husband into marrying her.

Then Jacob said to Laban, Give me my wife. My time is completed, and I want to make love to her. So Laban brought together all the people of the place and gave a feast. But when evening came, he took his daughter Leah and brought her to Jacob, and Jacob made love to her. And Laban gave his servant Zilpah to his daughter as her attendant. When morning came, there was Leah! So Jacob said to Laban, What is this you have done to me? I served you for Rachel, didnt I? Why have you deceived me? Genesis 29: 21-25

Imagine how Leah must have felt. Her husband was tricked into marrying her, she lost her virginity, only for him to wake up and regret having had sex with or marrying her. She was already depressed and this probably made her even more depressed.

Strong Women In The Bible ~ 4 Esther Wife & Savior Of A Nation

The fourth of the strong women in the Bible is Esther. I love Esther . She was a true Cinderella story indeed coming from being an orphan to becoming queen. But more than anything, she saved the Jews from annihilation. This one woman was instrumental for saving an entire nation LITERALLY. And she was willing to put her life at risk to do so by going before the king unannounced and possibly risking getting her head chopped off.

All the kings officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned the king has but one law: that they be put to death unless the king extends the gold scepter to them and spares their lives. Esther 4:11

Not to mention that the king has a history of getting rid of his queens. As the only reason why Esther was even queen is because the king had gotten rid of his former queen Vashti.

Therefore, if it pleases the king, let him issue a royal decree and let it be written in the laws of Persia and Media, which cannot be repealed, that Vashti is never again to enter the presence of King Xerxes. Also let the king give her royal position to someone else who is better than she. Esther 1:19-20

So it was very much so possible that the king could have banished Esther for disobeying him and coming to him without permission. You can also watch my video down below that I did on Esther.

What About Miriam The Prophetess In Exodus

Women Must Know This to Succeed – Women In The Church – Derek Prince

Next, we see Miriam the PROPHETESS in the Book of Exodus.

    • Miriam was the sister of Aaron and the sister of Moses.

Exodus 15:20-21 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. 21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

    • Women can be leaders of the other women. Miriam did so right there.
    • Why? Because they just escaped Pharaoh through the Red Sea. God fought for them.
    • So they were happy and she led them out with timbrels and dances and singing.
    • Be a leader for the other women around you. Lead them in the right direction. Thats your job.
    • Youre saved. You understand how to get heaven. Lead the other women you know.

Next, we see Deborah in the Book of Judges.

    • And so many of these new age churches around us today use Deborah as their example.

Judges 4:4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

    • Gods design isnt for women to rule over men.
    • But that should tell you about the state of ISRAEL at that time in the Book of Judges.
    • The men werent LEADING like they were supposed to be leading. They were weak men.
    • Heres an example from Deborahs life that GOD GIVES US TO PROVE THIS POINT.
    • Continuing in the very next verse of Judges Chapter 4.
    • So the children of Israel came to Deborah for judgement. To judge things between each other.
