At each service we gather for meaningful worship to study Gods word. We reach out with the heart of ministry to care for our neighbors in the name of Christ here and around the world. We have fun and fellowship in a variety of activities ranging from dinners to sporting events. As we work and worship together we find that our faith grows as we enjoy friends old and new.

Old Eastern Missionary Baptist Association
Please make plans to come out to support our Association meetings September 29th through October 2nd. May 28th throught 29th. The session will begin on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. with Preaching at Its Best, which will be hosted at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Washington, NC.
The host church for the Friday through Sunday sessions is St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, Greenville, NC where Pastor Daniel House is the Pastor. Pastor Simons will the preacher for the Friday morning session which begins at 8:30 a.m.

FAITH BIBLE INSTITUTE
Are you going to be amongst the next group of graduates to earn a degree in Bible Study? This is an expansive chronological and in-depth study of the Bible. Since 2009, St. John has had over 75 members to graduate from this program and each can tell you about the awesomeness of the program. Several have returned to take the class for a second or third time.
This program is offered by Faith Bible Institute of Monroe, Louisiana. Its an online program that you can take within the comfort of your home and at your own pace.
Register by July 1, 2022 to avoid a $30.00 late enroll fee. Fall Semester begins the week of August 14, 2022. Tuition can be paid in four installments.

In-person church service begins at 8:00 am. The service will also be broadcast live on Facebook at 8 am and replayed 11 am Sundays.
Bible Study will be broadcast live on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm.

St Johns Missionary Baptist Church
Established in 1916, Saint Johns Missionary Baptist Church is best-known as the congregation of prominent Indianapolis civil rights leader Andrew j. brown jr.
Saint Johns Missionary Baptist began with three members. By 1926, the congregation was large and financially stable enough to construct its first permanent building at 17th Street and Martindale Avenue. Indiana senator James Watson spoke during the dedication ceremony in September of that same year. The first building, constructed of red brick with a white wooden portico, still stands. It served as the main sanctuary from 1926 until 2009. To accommodate a growing congregation, Indianapolis architecture firm HCO Incorporated designed and built a new church in the postmodern style.
In October 1947, the congregation called Andrew J. Brown Jr. to serve as its pastor. Immediately prior to coming to Indianapolis, he had been pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Chicago.
Since Dr. Browns departure in 1990, St Johns has continued to grow and serve the neighborhood. In 2020 the church serves over 800 congregants with regular services throughout the week and serves its neighborhood through several outreach ministries, including a food pantry, prayer hotline, and regular visits to the citys juvenile detention facility and homeless populations.

ELABORATION
Incorporated in September of 1873, the Port of Arkansas City was established in 1877, the same year the St. John M. B. Church was founded and built byReverend John Smith and his small band of followers, providing African-Americans a place to worship.The church was named by Sister Josephine Adams.In1881, the county seat was moved to ArkansasCity.
The church was prominent in the African-American community, and was the largest church in ArkansasCity.Not only did the congregation offer youth delegationtraining to the surrounding cities, they also offered missionary training.In addition, some of the church members started a singing group in the 1940s.Knownas The Hayes Harmonizers, the group was broadcast on two radio stations on Sunday mornings, KVSA/McGehee, Arkansas, and WJPR/Greenville, Mississippi.
