United Church Homes And Services Rebrands As Everyage To Reflect Broader Base Of Constituents

Newton, NC-based United Church Homes and Services is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a name change to EveryAge.

USHS is embracing the future by continuing to look for ways and identifying new opportunities that we can serve more older adults across our geographic spectrum, President and CEO Lee Syria said in a video posted to social media.

The change is meant to reflect the organizations continued growth, according to the company. The faith-based organization serves more than 2,000 older adults in North Carolina and Virginia via independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and affordable housing.

Fifty years hence, were going to have more services, different services, more technology. Were going to serve probably a broader base of constituents, Board of Directors Chairperson Parker Howell said in the video.

The new brand name, Every Age, helps to better describe who we are now but also who we want to be in the future, Syria added.Despite the name change, our mission and vision remain steadfast, Syria stated in a press release. EveryAge is committed to enriching lives by providing the right services, at the right time, in the right setting. We are honoring our legacy while broadening the role we play in helping individuals live life to the fullest.

Npi Validation Check Digit Calculation

The following table explains the step by step NPI number validation process using the ISO standard Luhn algorithm.

Start with the original NPI number, the last digit is the check digit and is not used in the calculation.
1
Step 1: Double the value of the alternate digits, beginning with the rightmost digit.
2 2 4
Step 2: Add all the doubled and unaffected individual digits from step 1 plus the constant number 24.
2 + 9 + 1 + 8 + 2 + 1 + 4 + 9 + 4 + 2 + 4 + 24 = 70
Step 3: because the number obtained in step 2 ends in zero, the check digit is zero.
0

The NPI number 1992792220 is valid because the calculated check digit 0 using the Luhn validation algorithm matches the last digit of the original NPI number.

Friendship Village Engages United Church Homes For Services

The newly forged relationship is the result of a year-long process of detailed discovery and due diligence conducted by Friendship Villages voluntary Board of Directors before deciding to strategically align with United Church Homes. Among the factors contributing to the Boards decision was United Church Homes 100-year reputation as a nonprofit, high-quality sponsor and manager of 67 senior living communities. Based in Marion, it is well-positioned to capitalize on expected rapid changes in the delivery of senior housing and health care services in Columbus over the next few years.

The board of directors considered several options before choosing United Church Homes, said Phil Koppel, Chairman of Friendship Villages Board. The board was encouraged by the genuine connections that developed between the two organizations, and impressed with the United Church Homes approach, its history and philosophy, as well as its operating success and plans for future growth.

We are delighted to have this opportunity to serve the board of directors and residents of Friendship Village, said the Rev. Ken Daniel, president and CEO of United Church Homes. We will leverage our experience and management resources to enhance the quality of resident life at Friendship Village, while establishing a presence in the Columbus market, which we view as attractive and growing.

At the onset of the process, we knew that we wanted the launch of the new brand to coincide with the 50th anniversary celebration of our ministry hence, why it was announced on Aug. 20, 2021 50 years from the date that we opened our doors to the first five residents of our Abernethy Laurels community, Syria said.

The unveiling took place during a 50th anniversary celebration that was livestreamed to all 12 EveryAge locations.

Future plans include increasing EveryAges online presence, where many older adults begin their research on older adult communities and services. Taking these steps to engage people online helps us to reach people where they are at a time when THEY want information, added Kilday.
