Victory Baptist Church To Host Seder

In 1993, Phillip D. Sawilosky, with assistance and sponsorship of the Heritage Baptist Church in Arlington, and its pastor, established the Jewish Outreach Ministry, the Olive Tree Ministry. He later moved his ministry to the Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford.

In the Preface of his autobiography, A Journey of Faith, subtitled From Shema & Shadows Unto Shiloh & Shalom, Sawilosky asked his readers, How does one go from being a nice Jewish boy from a religious family to being a born-again Baptist preacher? His subsequent effort to reach others of his people reveals the answer to that life-changing/giving question.

He has also presented programs, nationwide, teaching traditions and the historic rituals of the Jewish faith, including the Passover, Feast of Purim and Hanukkah. In addition, on the third Friday night of each month, he heads the Jewish Heritage Night at Victory Baptist Church, a celebration of the giving to mankind, the Messiah, for the forgiveness of sin and the salvation of all men.

His next presentation will be the celebration of Seder, or Feast of the Passover, on the evening of April 16, at Victory Baptist Church. All are welcome and encouraged to attend, including the Jewish friends of the area.

In order to accommodate everyone, it is necessary to know how many will attend, so reservations are in order. This may be done through the Victory Baptist Church office at 594-7421 during hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
