You can let him know that you have a private matter to discuss and it will not take long. Look for a time when the pastor is not busy and the most appropriate place to hold the meeting. You will definitely want to address the matter when the two of you are not in a hurry.

We Need To Define Elders
The terms elder, overseer, and pastor are used interchangeably in the New Testament to refer to the same office or leadership position in the church . Elder focuses on the character of the man, that he is spiritually mature. Overseer looks at the task, which is to superintend or watch over Gods church. Pastor means shepherd and looks at the task from the common picture of the church being Gods flock of sheep.
The terms are always used in the plural for local churches. There is never to be a one-man ruler over a church or a single man to do the work of shepherding. Unless its a very small flock, the task is simply too much for one man, even if he works at it full time. Since the early church met in homes scattered around a city, it may be that a single elder was over each house church, but when the church in a particular city is referred to in the New Testament, it always refers to the elders of the church , such as Ephesus or Philippi .

If you find that your pastor still comes to you for money despite having a candid conversation with him, it is time to take further action steps. You can talk to one of the other pastors in your church and explain your situation to them. They will be in a position to help you because they serve together with the pastor that has been asking you for money.
Depending on the Structure of your Church, you can meet with
- Meet with the Eldership
- Meet with the Finance Ministry
- Meet with the treasurer
- Meet with the Church
Follow their guidance on what you can do. If they summon you and the said pastor for a joint meeting, be sure to show up so that you can iron out any issues. The other pastors need to hear both sides of the story so that they can make an informed decision.

Offer To Stand With Your Pastor
Even though you are not able to give your pastor any more money, you can offer to be there for him in prayer., you will be asking God to intervene in the situation. When we are not able to help others with anything material in nature, we can pray for them so that God can meet their need. Ephesians 6:18 tells us to pray for the saints because God knows that each of us needs prayers especially when we cannot pray for ourselves.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lords people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Why Do They Preach Everything Other Than The Gospel
Joel Osteen is one of the wealthiest preachers on earth. But have you ever heard Joel preach the GOSPEL? I have heard him preach a lot of Christianized inspirational messages. I wouldnt lie, many of them have blessed me when I really needed it. So I definitely appreciate that aspect of his ministry. But how does anyone get saved in his church? And please dont tell me that he prays the sinners prayer at the end of every sermon. Thats a sure sign that you dont know anything about Christianity. No one gets saved by repeating a prayer.
Most TBN preachers preach everything other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Let me tell you why. It is because the gospel is free. They cant make any money out of that. They cant tell you, If you want Gods salvation, send $100 right now. So instead, they teach you how to prosper, how to break curses, how to walk in victory, have your best life now, or whatever is the latest catch phrase.
That leads them straight into the crux of their message wait for it Sow a seed today, and all these blessings can be yours. You dont even have to be holy or living in Gods will. Just give them money and your problems will be solved. It is obscene and disgusting. Many Christians dont watch Christian TV because of this. They dont have a problem giving, but they dont want to be hoodwinked into giving.

The apostle Paul, a servant of God, taught the Corinthians the true nature of the church. In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul affirmed the centrality of Jesus Christ and his authority in it. This foundation should be the starting point for any discussion of leadership and governance in the local church. The local church must seek to build upon the foundation of Christ, equip and mobilize its leadership to fulfill the ministry of God.
