In the past forty years, there has been a resurgent interest in witchcraft in all its multifaceted guises. The main thrust has been presenting witchcraft as an innocent, entertaining subject in literature and in movies.
As usual 95% of Christians fail to use discernment, yield to media manipulation, and embrace this sugar coated siren of witchcraft along with the deluded mass of the population little heeding a wide array of Biblical admonitions not to open the door to Satan who comes to devour as a roaring lion. Jesus said to Peter, Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to have you, to sift you like wheat and thats exactly what Satan will do if we dont ask before reading a book, watching a movie, entering a relationship or pursuing any course of action What would Jesus do?
Witchcraft involves the manipulation of the demonic host, through incantations and the casting of spells. Witchcraft can also involve communication with demonic spirits impersonating the dead. The Bible clearly teaches that the dead cannot communicate with the living as there is a great chasm separating the dead from the living . As discarnate spirit entities, these demons possess knowledge regarding the activities of humans and have a limited ability to foretell the future.

The Old and New Testaments treat witchcraft as an evil, rebellious, and loathsome practice. Those who practiced it were not tolerated.
Be Careful Of Witchcraft And Evil
Take no part in evil, but instead expose it.
16. Ephesians 5:11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness instead, expose them.
17. 3 John 1:11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

Are There Harmless Forms Of Witchcraft
The answer is flat out no. Anything that has demonic influence is not harmless. Unfortunately, the way witchcraft is often presented to the world can mistakenly be seen as harmless. Think of the many childrens cartoons that incorporate magic and witchcraft into them, making them seem perfectly innocent and normal.
There is no such thing as a harmless form of witchcraft. This includes tarot cards, horoscopes, Ouija boards, or anything else that aligns with witchcraft, regardless of how unassuming it may seem. There is no harmless form of witchcraft. It is a deception that Satan uses to draw the unsuspecting in. Remember Satan disguises himself as an angel of light .

Does this mean Christians need to run screaming from everything touched by the term witchcraft? The answer is a very carefully qualified NO.
The problem is not the word, its what the word might mean. What most people call witchcraft is foreign to the Bible. Harry Potters version of magic, for instance, is more like the Force from Star Wars or the bending abilities from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Its explicitly NOT something involving demons or Satan. These kinds of witches are totally different from what the Bible means when it refers to sorcery, magic, and divination.
Now, that doesnt necessarily mean all of those stories are A-OK for all people at all times. Its fair to say that if a persons not careful about such things, they can get confused about whats real and whats not. If someone had that issue, these kinds of stories could potentially affect their faith. But it is a matter of conviction more than anything else.
In contrast, things like Ouija boards and seances are the biblical definition of witchcraft and cant honestly be defended under any circumstances. Most occult concepts are deliberately tied to Satanic demons or spiritsand thats extremely dangerous territory. When in doubt, its wise for believers to keep their distance from anything called “witchcraft” in real life until they know more about whats really involved.

We Dont Need To Pursue Witchcraft
There is one more Scripture I want you to consider as we talk about this topic. Many people have a desire to know about spiritual things, which makes sense because we are spiritual beings. What we must understand is as Christians, we dont have to seek spiritual assistance from anyone other than God himself. Look at this verse in Isaiah.
When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? Consult Gods instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn .
The reason you should never seek after spiritists, mediums, sorcerers, or witches is that you have the Spirit of God living inside of you. When you need any type of assistance or answers you can go directly to him. You dont have to run after these things which are destructive, you can consult your heavenly Father who has your best interests at heart.
Witchcraft is deceptive, dangerous, and deadly. God has warned us throughout the Bible to stay away from it. Lets heed his warning and dive into being filled with more and more of the Holy Spirit. This is not only the best help you will ever receive, it is the only spiritual assistance you will ever need.

I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God .
