At Grace Fellowship, we strive for excellence in all that we do.
We desire to be
- a church where integrity, honesty, and caring are of the utmost importance.
- a church that exalts the Lord by exalting His Wordthe Bible.
- a church that never separates the need to both share Gods love and hope while teaching individual members how to continue in a victorious life through Jesus Christ.
We see ourselves as a non-traditional church where everyone will feel welcome and where todays Christians can express their faith. A church with an easy-going atmosphere, casual to semi-dress, meaning come as you are. Our praise team brings a blend of contemporary praise and worship, classic choruses, and hymns that create an atmosphere where people can connect with God, singing praises and entering into His presence to worship Him.
Our doctrine is sound, Christian, and solidand we would be glad to sit down and show you what we believe. Because we are non-denominational, we have a saying at Grace about our Biblical views:
On the essentials of Christianity we are in unity, on the non-essentials we have liberty.
This is why Christians from many different backgrounds can love and serve one another at Grace Fellowship Church.
May God Bless You Pastor Robert

I attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, where I majored in business. After graduation, I worked for my dad in the family business, saw much of the country from the seat of a bicycle, and volunteered with Young Life. Around this time, I met Vicki. She was on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ, and God used her in a major way to move me toward ministry.
Vicki and I were married in November of 1987 and immediately moved to Portland, Oregon, where I attended Western Seminary. I graduated with a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Theology. We have been privileged to raise two incredible children, Micah, who is married to Mary, and Chelsea.
I joined the Grace Staff in December of 2005, and my passion is that we would be a body of disciples who make disciples that is helping people come to Christ and grow in Christ so they can then help others experience the same for the Glory of God. I want our church to live out the word of God by loving Him and others.

Grace Community Church Marks 5 Decades Of Growth
In 50 years of existence, Grace Community Church has grown in number, campuses and ministries.
But despite the many changes two key aspects of the ministry have remained the same a focus on the Bible and a desire to reach out to the community.
“I really want to be a church who thinks more about those who are not yet a part of us than are,” Senior Pastor Doug Clark said during a recent interview in his Tyler office.
This month, Grace celebrated 50 years of existence, and while leaders acknowledged it, they said the credit belongs to God for what he has accomplished through this community of believers in that time.
Grace Community Church got its start in the house of Bill and Rickey Fisher, according to the church’s website.
Roby Hadden, 85, was among the core founding group. Hadden, who was in his mid 30s at the time, said the group started out as a Bible study.
There was a common feeling among the participants that they wanted to study the scriptures more than they were on Sunday mornings at their respective churches.
So they decided to form a Bible study group that met in the members’ homes. It was unaffiliated with any church or denomination, but the members shared the same desires.
So for more than a year they met each Wednesday until one night a participant suggested they form their own church.
“We firmly felt the Holy Spirit moving in our midst and felt like this is what we want to continue doing,” Hadden said.

Grass Roots Idea Formation And Implementation
When anyone within the community has an idea they would like to implement, leaders should tend to be an advocate and to say yes, unless there are strong reasons not to do so. At Grace, it doesnt really matter where a good idea comes from, if its good. This grass roots, as opposed to top down, environment encourages the pursuit of excellence, becoming better than we once were.

Grace Community Church Is A Non
WORSHIPAt Grace we believe that, as followers of Jesus Christ, we worship God by offering our lives as a living sacrifice back to Him for what He has done for us through His Son. We believe that we are to love and value Him above all else and learn to express that love through obedience and devotion to Him and what He values.
MISSIONWe are called to live a missional lifestyle where we live, work, and play at home, at work, in our neighborhoods, in our schools, in sporting activities, and more in every facet of life. It is one where we involve ourselves in the lives of our families, neighbors, community, and world, seeking their good. Mission is not an activity of the Church, but an attribute of God that is reflected in and through us. It is an expression of His love, grace and mercy to the world in which we are privileged to participate.
COMMUNITYWhen we talk about Community as an expression of who we are and what we do as a church, we are referring to a very simple concept: putting the people of God together for a purpose. We believe that without intentionality, most of us will drift into a worldly way of thinking and living. Through Community initiatives we hope to equip the saints as they live in the world, but not of it.

A Body Of Christ Approach To Leadership
There is no hierarchy of importance on the Leadership Team, or in any other teams. We all bring complementary gifts, talents, and perspectives to the table, and we all need each other to carry out the mission, vision, and core values of the school. Protecting ones turf, or operating as silos or fiefdoms is not welcome at GCS. We believe in a shared governance approach to leadership that is consistent with the model Christ gave us through the Body. All of the members of the Leadership Team, and all of their teams, should feel free to raise ideas, suggestions, and innovations regarding any area of the school. They should feel free, and have the responsibility, to lovingly and appropriately but honestly critique or make recommendations that impact any area of the school. Once a team makes a decision, we all stand behind it.
In short, theres no place for silent dissent before a decision is made, and no place for vocal dissent after one is made. We must be willing to submit to the other members in their respective areas of expertise when appropriate, and to communicate with respect and gentleness when decisions have implications that impact other members of the team and their areas of responsibility. While engaging and inviting the perspectives of others may run the risk of looking like indecisiveness, leaders at GCS are willing to take that risk in order to give as many stakeholders as possible a seat at the table.
