I Was Born In Augusta Georgia And Grew Up In Clearwater South Carolina I Benefitted Greatly From The Local Church’s Volunteers In Children’s And Student Ministries And I Had Two Godly Grandmothers Who Modeled Their Faith Well At The Age Of Fifteen I Placed My Faith In Jesus
I have had the honor of being married to Erin since January 1, 2000. We are the parents of Isaac, Karis, Elijah, Ellee, Samuel, and Korbyn.

I Grew Up In Akron Ohio There Were Five Of Us In My Family My Parents And My Two Sisters With Me In The Middle I Trusted Christ When I Was 12 Years Old And Then Strayed Through Most Of Junior High And High School The Summer Before My Senior Year In High School Two Of My Best Friends And I Went To A Young Life Camp In Colorado It Was On The Bus Ride Home That Jesus Really Got A Hold Of My Heart I Committed To Following Him And Was Discipled And Im Grateful For The Patience The Lord Showed Me
I attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, where I majored in business. After graduation, I worked for my dad in the family business, saw much of the country from the seat of a bicycle, and volunteered with Young Life. Around this time, I met Vicki. She was on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ, and God used her in a major way to move me toward ministry.
Vicki and I were married in November of 1987 and immediately moved to Portland, Oregon, where I attended Western Seminary. I graduated with a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Theology. We have been privileged to raise two incredible children, Micah, who is married to Mary, and Chelsea.
I joined the Grace Staff in December of 2005, and my passion is that we would be a body of disciples who make disciples that is helping people come to Christ and grow in Christ so they can then help others experience the same for the Glory of God. I want our church to live out the word of God by loving Him and others.

Grace Community Church Marks 5 Decades Of Growth
In 50 years of existence, Grace Community Church has grown in number, campuses and ministries.
But despite the many changes two key aspects of the ministry have remained the same a focus on the Bible and a desire to reach out to the community.
“I really want to be a church who thinks more about those who are not yet a part of us than are,” Senior Pastor Doug Clark said during a recent interview in his Tyler office.
This month, Grace celebrated 50 years of existence, and while leaders acknowledged it, they said the credit belongs to God for what he has accomplished through this community of believers in that time.
Getting started
Grace Community Church got its start in the house of Bill and Rickey Fisher, according to the church’s website.
Roby Hadden, 85, was among the core founding group. Hadden, who was in his mid 30s at the time, said the group started out as a Bible study.
There was a common feeling among the participants that they wanted to study the scriptures more than they were on Sunday mornings at their respective churches.
So they decided to form a Bible study group that met in the members’ homes. It was unaffiliated with any church or denomination, but the members shared the same desires.
So for more than a year they met each Wednesday until one night a participant suggested they form their own church.
“We firmly felt the Holy Spirit moving in our midst and felt like this is what we want to continue doing,” Hadden said.

I graduated from The University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in communication, and I earned a Masters in Expository Preaching and Pulpit Communication and a Ph.D from Trinity Theological Seminary.
Ive been married to my amazing wife, Kara, since 2002. We have three sons, Eli, Nate, and Thadd.
I joined the Grace staff in 2007, and my deep hope for the UB Campus is to see men and women grow in deeper understanding of the Gospel and daily apply the truth of the Gospel to their lives.

A Body Of Christ Approach To Leadership
There is no hierarchy of importance on the Leadership Team, or in any other teams. We all bring complementary gifts, talents, and perspectives to the table, and we all need each other to carry out the mission, vision, and core values of the school. Protecting ones turf, or operating as silos or fiefdoms is not welcome at GCS. We believe in a shared governance approach to leadership that is consistent with the model Christ gave us through the Body.All of the members of the Leadership Team, and all of their teams, should feel free to raise ideas, suggestions, and innovations regarding any area of the school. They should feel free, and have the responsibility, to lovingly and appropriately but honestly critique or make recommendations that impact any area of the school. Once a team makes a decision, we all stand behind it.
In short, theres no place for silent dissent before a decision is made, and no place for vocal dissent after one is made. We must be willing to submit to the other members in their respective areas of expertise when appropriate, and to communicate with respect and gentleness when decisions have implications that impact other members of the team and their areas of responsibility. While engaging and inviting the perspectives of others may run the risk of looking like indecisiveness, leaders at GCS are willing to take that risk in order to give as many stakeholders as possible a seat at the table.
