And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

A skeptic recently asked me on Twitter if Gods decree, which contains whatsoever comes to pass, includes this pandemic. I answered an unequivocal yes. I love the way the London Baptist Confession of Faith beautifully summarizes the doctrine of Gods sovereignty:

God hath decreed in himself, from all eternity, by the most wise and holy counsel of his own will, freely and unchangeably, all things, whatsoever comes to pass yet so as thereby is God neither the author of sin nor hath fellowship with any therein nor is violence offered to the will of the creature, nor yet is the liberty or contingency of second causes taken away, but rather established in which appears his wisdom in disposing all things, and power and faithfulness in accomplishing his decree.

My interlocutor replied, Jerk move, God. But in my response, I challenged him to consider that there are really only four possibilities with regard to Gods power and the purpose behind these events:

Why Decorate With Bible Verses

First, why Scripture? Why not quotes or inspiring sayings? I do have a couple of pieces of wall art with inspiring quotes but I love decor with Scripture because of the tremendous power of Gods Word. One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 55:11:

According to this verse, Gods Word will never return void. When God sends out His Word, whether its read, spoken, or shared on social media, it will ALWAYS accomplish something. In other words, Gods Word will always accomplish the purpose for which He sends it.

Now, imagine the application in your home. You are having a rough day and you walk by some wall art of Psalm 61:2 that says, from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I? What a great reminder that we can call out to God in prayer whenever we are in need and He will answer us.

Surround yourself with Gods Word so you can remember the truth that God breaths into your life every single day. Theres no better way to remind yourself of the peace that only God gives than by decorating your home with Scripture.

Scripturizing = The Art Of Decorating Or Accessorizing One’s Home With Scripture

Ha! Actually, I’ve been using this word for a long time. I needed a good word to describe my passion for adding Scripture around the house. Thus, scripturizing was born.

One of my favorite passages in the Bible is found in Deuteronomy 6:1-9. It takes about how we are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind. It also tells us to share God’s Truth with our children all day long. But, one of the other elements in this passage is all about putting God’s Word where we’ll be constantly reminded of them, like on our on our doorframes and on our gates.So, I like to think that Scripturizing is a fun way of doing just thiskeeping God’s Word visible for everyone to see.

Since I don’t want anyone to get stalled out in their endeavor to Scripturize their own home, I figured I’d get you started with a few easy-to-implement ideas to start you off.

Add Bible Verse App To Your Playlist

4.1. Once youre happy with your settings, click Add App and give your Bible Verse app a name. This will help you to spot it later in your content library, particularly if youre planning to use more than one Bible Verse app within your playlist.

4.2. Select Finished and your Bible Verse app will now be listed within your Content Library.

Please note, If you want to edit your Bible Verse app at any time, you can simply hover over the app in the content library and choose Edit This App.4.3. Next, select the playlist you wish to add this to and drag and drop the app from the right-hand side to the playlist of your choosing.

4.4. Here, you can also change the duration that your Bible Verse app is shown for, currently set as 2:00 for two minutes.

Add The Osb To Your Service Order

If you know you want to show a Bible passage with the OSB at a particular place in your service, add it ahead of time. You can customize the Bible translation, style, and color directly from the service item. Additionally, you can set the OSB service item to show multiple passages as you progress through your presentation.

Sometimes artwork that doesnt explicitly show a Bible verse is just as effective as one that does. When I look at this blueprint I think about how my grandparents house in New Jersey was never built. Psalm : Safety And Refuge In God

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

If youre feeling ambitious, why not commit this entire chapter to memory? Each verse of Psalm 91 speaks powerfully to the problem of pandemics. While many shelter in place, the psalmist invites us to dwell in the shelter of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty . Though a thousand may fall at your side, the plague will not prevail .

Taken out of context, this chapter could be misinterpreted as a high-octane health-and-wealth prooftext. But the so-called prosperity gospel is heresy God does not unconditionally promise Christians a healthy or trouble-free existence if they only exercise enough faith. The Puritan Thomas Watson commented, God doth not say, no afflictions shall befall us, but no evil. We may have affliction, but affliction will not have us. Psalm 91 helps usand those we are seeking to evangelizelook above the physical and temporal to set our sights on heavenly realities so that we can recognize that our afflictions are light and momentary compared to eternity .

Configure Remote Access In Openlp

On the top right of OpenLP you’ll see “Settings”.

Select Settings then “Configure OpenLP”

When the window pops up, you should see “Remote” as the last option in the list.

You must make sure the IP address listed there is the same as the computer you are using to run OpenLP. This IP number will change if you are using WifFi and not ethernet so be sure to double check this between uses. On Windows you can run a command prompt by selecting the windows button and typing cmd. Type: ipconfig in the command line and you want to us the IPv4 Address.

Bible Slide Formatting And Templates

Bible slides are created in the same way any presentation slide is created, as in, you can set your style and formatting any way you wish.

The best option to use, as with any presentation, is to apply a Template based on the text formatting you wish to use for the presentation. You can either apply a Template that’s already inside of the program or create a new Template that best fits your setup. Below, we’ll explain how to create a new Template for your scripture.

ProPresenter 6 allows you to use the same style for your verse and reference, or create two unique styles for the verse and references.

To create a new Bible template that supports individual styles for the reference and verse text, click on the Template button then choose New Template Group and name the Template as you see fit. This will open the Template Editor, which is similar to the standard Editor.

1. If you are creating a Bible Template with the same style for both verse and reference, you would just add one text box to the slide and format the text.

Applying this template in the Bibles section would apply the text style for the verse and reference and put the reference in the bottom right automatically. An example of this would be below.

2. If you are creating a Bible Template with unique styles for the verse and reference, add two text boxes to the slide and format the text how you want each part to look.

Chalkboards & White Boards:

I’m a huge fan of using framed chalkboards and chalkboard pens. You can prop a small one up on a stand or mount a large chalkboard up on the wall. Then if you really want to get simple, just put a whiteboard on the counter and change out your verses regularly. My friend has a really fancy plaque that she uses as a whiteboard. So, you can even get fancy with your wipe away options .

Years ago, I read about a mother of young sons who hung nautical pictures all over the walls of their home.

When her sons grew up, they became sailors.

The author explained that what you choose to hang on the walls of your house can be more important and influential than you may imagine.

Keeping that anecdote in mind, Ive tried to be very intentional with the artwork I hang in my home.

In Deuteronomy 6: 4-9, the Israelites were instructed:
