Pilgrimage To Italy 2023

Live A Life Pleasing To God (Part II) – BSJEC

Fr. John McCloskey OFM Cap will be leading a pilgrimage to Italy from May 1 to 12, 2023. We will see places of great spiritual, artistic and historical importance in Rome, Assisi, Padua and elsewhere. This trip has a distinctly Franciscan theme, and will visit the small country shrine where St. Francis celebrated Christmas with the first living Nativity scene, and the mountaintop in Tuscany where he received the Sacred Stigmata… Clickhere for details.

Will You Help Us Reduce Our Debt Please

In 2007, St. Johns faced a critical structural issue: the leaning, crumbling towers at the front of the church. The enormous cost required the parish to take out a loan from the Archdiocese in the amount of $1.2 million dollars.

Over the past several years, we have successfully paid over $400,000.00 toward the debt!

Please help us bring this number down to $0. Every dollar is important and counts. Please help us with this donation for whatever you are able to give.

Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church and its Community Development Corporation provided Christmas food baskets and gifts for hundreds of families and individuals this week, making the holiday better for those whove been going through rough times.

On Dec. 19, Beloved gifted 40 families, some of whom are staying at the Interim House West shelter, with toys for their children. According to Beloved spokeswoman Sabrina Holloway, the church does the toy drive every year but this was the first time theyve provided toys to that particular shelter.

On Dec. 21, Beloved CDC provided 66 Christmas food baskets to in need families identified by schools in the Logan community, health providers and public officials offices.

The food baskets contained canned goods , one box each of: stuffing, cake mix, instant potatoes, and tea bags a bag of sugar, a small bag of oranges, and a 15-18 pound turkey.

Nixon added that Beloved CDC funded the baskets with fundraisers and some help from the Philadelphia Activities Fund through City Councilwoman Cindy Bass office . They were assembled by volunteers from the church and some community members. The toy donations were funded by the Beloved St. Johns Bible Institute.

Nixon said Beloved hopes to increase the number of available food baskets in 2017.
