OUR MINISTRIES
YOUTH MinistryCharged with the planning and coordination of Church-related programs for our youth. Their role also includes guiding the youth of the Church in continual outreach programs. The Youth Council is composed of leaders of the various youth ministry groups.
YOUNG ADULT MINISTRYUnder the guidance of Young Adult Ministry leaders, this ministry provides opportunities for spiritual development, ministry, and fellowship for the young adult membership of the church, ages 19-50.

First Baptist Churc Company History Timeline
At that site the first association in Indian Territory formed in October 1848 from thirteen churches representing 854 members in southern Indian Territory.
The church was founded in 1848 in midtown Atlanta, Georgia.
On May 31, 1851, four charter members established the First Baptist Church of Waco.
The church initially was composed of only fifteen members and met in the meeting place of the First Methodist Church until obtaining a brick building of their own at Fourth Street and Mary Avenue in 1857.
Creek churches continued to grow, especially after Joseph S. Murrow’s arrival among the Creek and Seminole in 1857.
He organized the first Baptist church among the Seminoles in 1860 at Sasakwa.
1861 brought about the beginning of the War Between The States which greatly affected the churches and their mission.
May 11, 1867Twenty two members of the South Yamhill church voted to form a McMinnville Church.
In 1870, the congregation appointed him pastor after he gained recognition in the local community for a revival hosted at New Hope Baptist Church earlier that year.
D.W. Gwin in their early work and established The First Baptist Church on June 21, 1872.
On July 28, 1872, the Elyton Land Company gave the land site on 6th Avenue and 22nd Street to the small congregation, and they soon built their first building which was only 60 by 30 feet.
The town of Rapid City was established in 1876 by John Brennan, who was Helen Wredes grandfather.

Church in DeKalb County files lawsuit after financial scheme costs church millions
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. A local megachurch is speaking out to Channel 2 Action News about a financial scheme targeting Black congregations across the country.
House of Hope Atlanta filed this lawsuit on Tuesday because of what they are calling a nationwide conspiracy that cost them millions of dollars.
Channel 2 Investigative Reporter Mark Winne spoke with the churchs pastor.
Pastor E. Dewey Smith said before he speaks in the sanctuary of Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church, one of Georgias most prominent houses of worship, with more than 10,000 members, he turns to God for guidance.
But before he spoke one recent Sunday, he turned to church attorneys too, and in the place where he delivers the good news, he delivered some bad news to his congregation.
Recently we discovered some information thats been incredibly troubling, Smith told his congregation on Sunday.
According to Smith, when Greater Travelers Rest bought its current home, it was victimized by a complicated financial scheme.
Now, the church has filed a lawsuit saying it was the target of a nationwide conspiracy to defraud churches, notably Black churches.

The lawsuit alleges fraud, theft by deception, racketeering, and more, against a long list of defendants.
But Smith says that by 2009, it needed a lot more space.
