In this verse, Paul reminds us of the importance of perseverance in our daily Christian lives. This verse is included in the variety of instructions that the apostle gives to the Galatian churches of God.
In the same chapter, he reminds them to correct each other with kindness, carry their burdens, and avoid comparing themselves to others.
However, it is what comes just before this verse that gives it weight. Here, Paul warns about sowing out of the flesh, citing that everyone reaps what they sow.
Therefore, the verse we are focusing on points to the importance of persistently doing good work.
Ultimately, this verse teaches us that its the will of God that we do good things to all people, no matter what is happening in our lives. Remember, Jesus once said that even pagans treat their loved ones well it takes character to treat those who are different from us well too.

Weve had the ups and downs of family life, health struggles for just about everyone in our family, and the hardship that goes along with watching as my dad fights his progressive form of Parkinsons Disease.
If we were going it alone, any of these things might have been enough to break us, but through it all weve had strong faith that God is working in our lives, that we can trust Him, and that His strength is enough.
Today I want to share some verses that I have found helpful over the past few years, that have bolstered my resolve and given me hope. Im hoping that they can give you some encouragement as well.

There are many scriptures about perseverance in the New Testament of the Bible. One of my favorites is from James 1:2-4: Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. This scripture reminds me that God never allows us to go through a trial that is too much for us to handle. He gives us grace and strength to endure whatever we are going through, as long as we remain faithful to Him. As long as we keep our focus on Him, we will be able to persevere through anything!

Galatians : 9 Do Not Grow Weary In Doing Good
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9 NIV
This is the first verse I turn to when I feel like giving up. Its a reminder that good things take work. And, often, they take a lot of work.
But that doesnt mean your efforts are fruitless.
One of my favorite hymns growing up was called, The Hymn of Promise.
It talks about how an entire apple tree is inside a tiny little seed. But, you cant just crack the seed open and have the full tree pop out.
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.
It takes time, patience, nurturing, and protection. But when you reap that harvest, it is so worth the effort!
