    The Study Of Jesus Parables

The Faithful Servants and Evil Servants

    Luke 12:35-38

Our reading is all about being prepared and being faithful. Faithfulness is not easy though. It demands discipline, consistency, and a determination to stick with God, no matter what happens to us in our day-to-day lives. Modern society around us values personal freedom over faithfulness to God, so the task we have been given is not easy. Following on from yesterday’s reflection as well, if we truly want to pass on the faith then we need to first be faithful models for our children and youngsters.

If we keep the flames of our lamps lit, by keeping the flame of faith alive in our hearts, Jesus will be able to do amazing things through each one of us.

    Faithful and Wise Steward

    Luke 12:42-48

In Luke 12:42 Jesus asked, Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time? In Luke 12:35-40 Jesus preached about being ready for his return. We could almost think that what the guys are doing in Acts 1:9-11, is the best example of doing what Christ wanted: standing there, waiting, staring off into heaven. But then Jesus preached Luke 12:41 to 48 to prevent us from thinking this. Being ready for Christs return means serving. If we want to know who then is the faithful and wise steward we should look at our lives.

How Morning Star Baptist Church Is Celebrating 122 Years

If you have driven along Woodlawn Drive in the past four months, you may have noticed a beautiful, new church building that recently opened. That building is the home of Morning Star Baptist Church , which moved from the city to Baltimore County in December of 2017. Morning Star celebrated their church anniversary, 122 years of serving God and His people, May 20.

One hundred twenty-two years of existence is something to celebrate. This year, the theme and focus for the church anniversary was Faith Fest. Bishop Dwayne Debnam, Pastor of the church, said Faith Fest is a celebration of what faith has done in the life of MSBC. Faith has sustained us for 122 years. Faith allowed us to embark upon ministry expansion and so Faith Fest is what we do every year to celebrate the history of the church, Debnam told the AFRO.

Bishop Debnam has been the Pastor of Morning Star for over 20 years. He said that this year was especially memorable. Its the first year in our new home and we are appreciating what faith has done and what God is doing in the life of the church. We are thanking God that we are able to see faith in action as a church and on a personal level.
