Tim and his wife, Judy, are both originally from Indianapolis, IN. Tim went to Indianapolis Baptist Bible College where he graduated with a degree in Theology. Straight out of college, they and four of their six children moved to Nebraska where they planted seven churches, the last one being where Tim pastored for the past 18 years. During his pastorate, Tim had the privilege of leading his congregation through Biblical principles, working in the youth department, teaching adult Sunday school classes and leading small group Bible studies. He has also had multiple counseling opportunities which ranged from teens with peer pressure to struggling marriages. Tim and Judy moved to the Springfield area prior to starting Real Life Church in 2015 and are excited about the direction God is now leading them.

Life groups consist of 5-15 adults who meet on a regular basis, looking to connect in authentic relationships, to deepen their faith and impact the world around them with the Love of Jesus.

Real Life Church is a church that seeks to provide a way for the unchurched and de-churched to come back to the God that loves them. Most people know of Jesus…He was a good man, a great teacher, and a remarkable historical figure. However, that’s only a portion of the story. Jesus saves us from our sins and restores the broken relationships between a holy God and us. As His church, our intention is to give people an opportunity to discover the truth about Jesus and experience God through community, service and generosity.
Fit For Service: Realife Buys Former Wellness Center Site Plans To Remodel Into Church
GREENFIELD Jake Hughes remembers the day he and his wife, Stephanie, first ventured into Realife Church and took a seat near the back. He remembers the man sitting nearby who introduced himself and his family, and he remembers the way the sermon resonated with him.
The people are really inviting, he said. They make you feel welcome.
Nearly seven years since that first visit, the Hugheses have seen Realife grow so much so that the church has bought the former Family Fun and Fitness at 5151 W. U.S. 40 to remodel it as a new worship space for the church.
The church closed on the property at the end of 2020, and on Jan. 6, a volunteer crew was there doing some interior demolition on areas of the building the church plans to remodel.
Over these seven years, the church has grown exponentially, said Jake Hughes, now a member of the churchs leadership advisory team. I think having additional kids space will be huge. Theres a lot of anticipation built up there.
Lynde Smith estimates that the childrens ministry has tripled in the four years she and her family have been attending Realife. She and husband Aaron lead fourth- and fifth-graders on Sunday mornings in one of the modular classrooms south of the churchs current building at 971 W. U.S. 40 in Greenfield.
The Smiths and the four of their children still at home all attend one of Realifes three services Sunday mornings and volunteer in various capacities during another service.

GEM Lynde Smith sees children bursting into church each week, eager to set out Bibles, turn on lights and music, and get ready for the arrival of their peers.
Since Realife Church began having services at its new location, theres more space available to extend that welcome. The church moved to 5151 W. U.S. 40 in March and is planning a grand opening celebration on May 8, to coincide with the churchs 15th anniversary.
