Our Parish Mission Statement

We, the parish of Saint Raphael the Archangel, celebrate Jesus as the center of our life. Through our active participation in the Eucharist, we strive to recognize Jesus in our daily lives and the lives of others. Our commitment is to grow as a parish family, and live this through our religious, educational, social and civic involvements, witnessing to all, our faith in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Warm Greetings To All From The St Raphaels Faith Community

Whether you are new to our parish or have been a long-time member, we welcome you to St. Raphaels church. It is my great hope that you always experience the hospitality and warmth of our parish community. St. Raphael is a Roman Catholic parish in the diocese of Dodge City, KS. As a Catholic community of Faith, we know that the Mass is central to our lives. Through the Eucharist, we celebrate Christs saving love for us and for all. As a community, we care for one another, knowing that through our ministry we perceive Christs presence among us.

We at St. Raphaels invite you to pray with us, to walk with us, to lean on us, as together we follow Jesus on the narrow, but royal way of the Cross. May the Lord of Our Journey continue to bless you and yours.

Letter From Father Michal

Dear Parishioners of Saint Raphael’s Church,Thank you for welcoming me as your new Administrator to your extraordinary church and beautiful community. I look forward to a warm and enduring relationship with all of you in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. I have some large shoes to fill with the passing of Father Dennis Cooney and hope that I will not disappoint.

First, a word of introduction. My name is Father Michal Szyszka. I am from Poland and my last name, “Szyszka”, means “pinecone.” If you have a problem saying my last name you can call me Fr. Michal or Fr. Pinecone. I came to the U.S. in 2006 and this was a day when my big dream came true. I studied in the Seminary in Orchard Lake, Michigan. I was ordained a priest on May 21, 2011 at the Cathedral in Venice by Bishop Frank Dewane. My last four years I spent in Bradenton, at Ss. Peter and Paul Church with a wonderful Pastor, Father Mark Heuberger. And here am I, at Saint Raphel Catholic Church. What an honor. Yes, indeed, it is an honor for me to be your Administrator.

Let God’s mission be our mission. And together, let us do our very best to be part of that mission, building up God’s Kingdom here in this great community.

I thank God for all of you in my prayers and I do need your prayers, help and support. May the peace and grace of God be with you. God bless you!

Saint Raphael, pray for us! Amen.Yours in Christ,

Words From Father Matthew

4th Sunday in Ordinary Time
  • Dear Friends, As we move through Advent toward the celebration of the Lord’s birth at Christmas, I invite you to reflect on how Jesus has been close to you this past year and the light He brings into our lives. Our celebration of the Nativity each year is more than a remembrance of history: it is a reminder that Christ is still present to the world, and to each one of us. May the newborn Christ Child bring you and your loved ones the light you need to discover again the peace that is His gift to us. In our Lord,

    Act Of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there, and I unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you.
