Does God hear the prayers of an unbeliever?

One of the most frequent prayers we should pray is a prayer of thanksgiving. We should be grateful for all the prayers that God answers: not just the ones that He answered with a yes. The Lord God has bestowed such mercy upon us. Every breath that we take in should be released with a prayer of thankfulness and adoration to Him.

Lets Ask The Question A Slightly Different Way

Is there anything I can do, or must do to get God to grant my requests? For Him to rescue or assist me in times of distress, or get Him to use His awesome power to help me accomplish my goals?

We are instructed to pray constantly, to keep hanging in there, and to expect an answer.

There is no set formula for prayer that would obligate God to grant a request. If that were true then God would be more like a magic genie in a lamp. We cannot control or manipulate God through any words, actions or rituals. He chooses to answer, or not, as He pleases. We are specifically told not to pray like this .

I Love Jehovah Because He Hears My Voice

Those are the words of the writer of one of the psalms in the Bible. He was sure that God heard his prayers, and that fact had a powerful effect on him. He felt closer to God and found the strength to deal with lifes distress and grief.Psalm 116:1-9.

When we are sure that God hears our prayers, we will persevere in talking to him. Consider the experience of Pedro, who lives in northern Spain. He lost his 19-year-old son in a traffic accident. In his sorrow, Pedro poured out his heart to God and prayed repeatedly for comfort and support. What happened? Jehovah answered my prayers through the comfort and support that my wife and I received from fellow Christians, says Pedro.

Answers to our prayers often come through the comfort and support of caring friends

While prayers did not bring his son back to life, they did help Pedro and his family in important ways. His wife, María Carmen, recalls: Prayers helped me to endure my grief. I knew that Jehovah God understood me because when I prayed to him, I felt at peace and a calm came over me.

The Bible and personal experiences clearly show that God does hear prayers. Yet, it is also apparent that God does not answer all prayers. Why does God answer some prayers and not others?

Does God Always Answer Prayers

God will always answer the prayer of His children. Sometimes the answer is yes. And we can see His fulfillment very quickly. Other times, He will answer us with a No. Those can be hard to accept. But we can trust that He loves us and that He is answering us with what is best for us and with what will give Him the most glory. Then there are times that the Lord will answer with a wait. This can be very hard to hear too. When God tells us to wait, it can feel like a no. But God knows exactly when the best time is to answer our prayer and we need to trust in His timing. God is safe to trust because He loves us.

In Matthew 6, Jesus gives clear instruction and guidance on how to pray, saying “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. How To Trust That God Hears You And Not Fear

Do you believe that God hears your prayers? There are days and seasons it seems like my prayers hit a wall and just bounce right back down to earth. The Bible is clear that God hears you, so why doesnt it feel that way?

I hate to answer a question with a question, but please bear with me. Do you believe in the Trinity? Im assuming that you do.

Where does the Bible say that there is a Trinity?

Plain and simple, it doesnt. The Teaching is taught explicitly in Sacred Tradition and is only implied in the Bible.

The same here. The Catholic Church explicitly teaches that the Saints can hear our prayers. But this Teaching is only implied in the Bible.

However, the question reveals a false assumption on the part of the people asking the question.

They assume that Jesus wrote a Bible and handed it out. Or that the Apostles wrote the New Testament before they began to preach. But that is false.

The fact is that Jesus established the Church. He then commissioned the Church to Teach all which He commanded.

It is based upon these Teachings that the Catholic Church wrote the New Testament.

Ok, so, where does the Bible imply that people in heaven can hear our prayers?

One of my favorite places is this one. It doesnt depict someone from heaven, but it does depict dead people having a lively conversation.

That is Jesus depicting a DEAD MAN speaking to Abraham about Lazarus.

All of whom are dead. If you remember, Jesus did not say that this was a parable. He said, 19 There was a certain rich man. That means that Jesus is narrating a true story.

When God Doesnt Answer A Christians Prayer

God will not answer the prayers of believers if they are living in unrepentant sin or fail to forgive others. Matthew 6:12, 14-15 makes it plain that even a Christians prayer may not be heard as Jesus testifies by saying that we are to forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Therefore, a believer that is living in sin or fails to forgive others has their prayers blocked since they are out of fellowship with the Father. They will never lose their relationships but continual sin can affect their fellowship. If my children continue to be willfully disobedient, they must understand that I am not going to grant their requests since they are not doing what I ask them to do. God will never answer the prayer of a Christian while they are regarding sin in their heart .

Does God Hear Unbelievers Prayers?

Proverbs 1:26-29 speaks to everyone who does not believe in Him and gives a warning for those who dont that when disaster strikes you I will mock when calamity overtakes you when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. Then they will call to me but I will not answer they will look for me but will not find me, since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD.

Does God Hear My Prayers

God won’t hear our prayers if we sin? What if we are trying and have a habit?

God loves His children, and He will hear the prayers of those who belong to Him. That doesnt mean that God will answer every prayer in the way that we desire, but that should encourage us to persistently pray. If we were asked the question, does God hear and answer the prayers of unbelievers? The answer is usually no. If God does answer, then its simply an act of His grace and mercy. God can answer any prayer that is according to His will, especially a prayer for salvation.

Praying According To Gods Will

The Bible teaches that God wants us to pray according to Gods will. This means we should study His revealed will: the Scriptures. As we grow in knowledge of His will, our heart is changed. We become more like Christ. He causes us to love what He loves, and to hate what He hates. It is then that we pray according to Gods will. And He will always answer when we do.

Does God Hear The Prayers Of Sinners Or Unsaved Persons

This was actually a comment from a man that Jesus had healed, so it reflects his own understanding rather than a Bible teaching.

Does God Always Hear Us When We Pray

God answered a prayer for me today.

And it wasnt the size of the prayer that caught me off guard.

Its that God answered my prayer at all.

Because I only asked Him once.

I asked Him quietly, without any fanfare. I didnt ask anyone to pray with me. I simply shared a deep desire with God. And then I left it there with Him.

And today He gave me exactly what I had asked him for.

It made me think of my daughter. She and I were in her van last week. We were day-tripping to New Orleans with my three grandchildren during Spring Break.

One of the kids wanted to know something.

So he asked.

My daughter and I were in the middle of a lively conversation. So she acknowledged her son, but kept talking.

Then he asked the same question again. And again. And again.

Finally, when the van came to a stop, my daughter wheeled around and looked the guilty broken record in the eye.

I heard you, she said quietly. I heard you the very first time you asked. Im your mom. Im going to answer you. But you have to be patient and wait for me to respond.

God is always listening. And He hears us when we pray. The very first time. And the millionth time.

God Invites Us To Talk To Him

God is never annoyed by our requests. On the contrary, He invites us to call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not knowJeremiah 33:3, HCSB). He wants to hear us tell Him whats on our minds and hearts even though He already knows!

At any moment of every day, we have an open invitation to pour our hearts out to the Lord. He doesnt get tired of us. He wants to hear from us all day long. The Bible encourages us to always keep on praying .
