A Genetic Analysis Of Almost Half A Million People Has Concluded There Is No Single Gay Gene

People to Be Loved: Why Homosexuality Is Not Just an Issue – Preston Sprinkle

29 August 2019

Five specific genetic variants were found to be particularly associated with same-sex behaviour, including one linked to the biological pathway for smell, and others to those for sex hormones.

But together they only accounted for under 1% of same-sex behaviour. …

David Curtis, honorary professor at the UCL Genetics Institute, University College London, said: “This study clearly shows that there is no such thing as a ‘gay gene’.

“There is no genetic variant in the population which has any substantial effect on sexual orientation.

Now, in my opinion, in order to be more politically correct, the researchers indicated that there was some genetic influence, but it was not more than 8-25%and that is an overstatement. There is no proof that genes make one LGBTQ.

Here is another report:

Under 1 percent! And even then, that also is not proof, but conjecture.

This born this way argument helped the LGBTQ crowd get sympathy and win over various courts, academics, and government officials.

Now that the LGBTQ crowd has essentially won legal acceptance in many places around the world, it will no longer feel it needs to push this born this way, no choice but to be gay argument.

Similarly, the LGBTQ crowd will push other reasons, like human rights to push their agenda and rely less on their false genetic arguments.

Well, the reason why not is because sexual immorality is unhealthy and biblically immoral .

Does the Bible Condemn Homosexuality? Butler v.s. Monk ...

I have had many requests for a post on the topic of homosexuality and the Bible. Most have been from people asking for an esoteric perspective. I got the impression that these requests were from straight persons trying to understand how this lifestyle fits in from a spiritual standpoint. Since I am a straight married man myself, Ive never had a real interest to go into the subject. But I am finally giving in to a recent e-mail asking me to specifically address the topic. Since I have gotten more than a few requests over the years, I figure its time to finally tackle it. Obviously theres a significant portion of individuals who are wondering if the Bible really condemns it. From an esoteric perspective, the answer may surprise you. Hopefully I wont get too many verbal stones thrown at meJ.

I understand that this can be a very touchy subject from either side of the fence. I will provide a scriptural interpretation first and then give a few facts that hopefully will give us a greater awareness of the subject outside of the scripture as well. That being said, we only need to examine a few scriptures from the Old and New Testaments to see where the Bible really stands on the matter. Well start with the Old Testament first.

Thou shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind it is abomination .

If a man lie also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death their blood shall be upon them .

    Reasons God Loves Gay Christians

1.The term homosexual didnt exist until 1892. Some modern Bible translations say that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God, but neither the concept nor the word for people with exclusive same-sex attraction existed before the late 19th century. While the Bible rejects lustful same-sex behavior, thats very different from a condemnation of all gay people and relationships.

    2. Sexual orientation is a new conceptone that the Christian tradition hasnt addressed. Many Christians draw on their faiths traditions to shape their beliefs, but the concept of sexual orientation is new. Until recent decades, same-sex behavior was placed in the same category with gluttony or drunkenness as a vice of excess anyone might be prone to not as the expression of a sexual orientation. The Christian tradition has never spoken to the modern issue of LGBT people and their relationships.

    3. Celibacy is a gift, not a mandate. The Bible honors celibacy as a good way of living Jesus was celibate, after all but it also makes clear that celibacy must be a voluntary choice. Requiring that all gay people remain celibate is at odds with the Bibles teachings on celibacy, which are grounded Scriptures core affirmation that Gods physical creation is good.

Thentheres Leviticus : 22 Mosaic Law Prohibitions And Leviticus : 13 Mosaic Punishments For Violating Mosaic Law:

The ridiculousness of using Leviticus to condemn ANYTHING is simply in looking at what in the world the Book of Leviticus condemns.

Rules in the Bible were always tied to some sort of reasoning. In the case of this gay sex prohibition, a consistent thread in early Judeo-Christian understanding was that semen alone was considered unclean, because sex was ONLY meant to be procreative.

Check out what God does to Onan when he ejaculates outside of a woman in Genesis 38.

In the same passages where gay sex is condemned and punished, so is eating shrimp, crop co-mingling, eating rabbit, wearing linen and wool at the same time, and eating raw meat. So if youâre going to be a Biblical literalist, you might as well start sewing your own clothes and becoming a vegetarian.

    On Sodom And Gomorrah

Pastor Stands By Anti-Gay Sermon As Christian Community Condemns Him

This story, in Genesis 19, tells of the attempted gang rape of two ‘angels’, sent by God to see if any good people remained in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah after their inhabitants had revoked the important law of the welcoming of strangers – and of God’s subsequent destruction of the cities. But the point about this story is that it’s about punishment for inhospitality, a grave misdemeanour in Jewish society. Nothing about judgement over sexual orientation.

Gay Conversion Therapy To Be Banned As Part Of Lgbt Equality Plan

    3 July 2018

Controversial gay conversion therapies are to be banned as part of a government plan to improve the lives of gay and transgender people.

The prime minister said nobody should ever have to hide who they are.

A 75-point plan to improve the lives of LGBT people, costing £4.5m, has been produced in response to the survey. It includes plans to introduce a national LGBT health advisor, tackle discrimination, improve the response to hate crime and to improve diversity in education institutions.

As part of the plan, it said it would consider all legislative and non-legislative options to prohibit promoting, offering or conducting conversion therapy.

Equalities minister Penny Mordaunt told BBC Radio 4s Today programme of the practice: This is very extreme so-called therapy that is there to try and cure someone from being gay of course you cant cure someone from being gay. In its most extreme form it can involve corrective rape.

Thats very different from psychological services and counselling. Its pretty unpleasant, some of the results we found, and it shows that theres more action to do.

She said the government is consulting on the best way to implement a ban, adding: Its absolutely right that that abhorrent practice has to go.

I was struck by just how many respondents said they cannot be open about their sexual orientation or avoid holding hands with their partner in public for fear of a negative reaction.

    Moral grounds?

Giving Up Sugar Tasting God’s Goodness

As a latchkey kid, Wendy Speake turned to sugar for comfort. Every Friday, she would pedal to the candy show and use her allowance to fill her bag with candy. And one day, when she was older and a mom of three young boys, she came to realize that she was still pedaling away from her stress and using sugar as comfort, instead of turning to Jesus. She was joyless, worn out, tired, and in need of a change. In this interview, Wendy will challenge Christians to take 40 days to focus on fasting from something they turn to instead of Jesus for comfort. She invited people to break free from a dependence on sugar and taste the goodness of God.

Passages Traditionally Considered To Condemn Homosexual Relationships

    The Old Testament

    Genesis 19, Judges 19

These well-known stories recount incidents in which the male citizenry of a town proposes to have intercourse with a male visitor .

D.S. Baileys attempt to interpret the verb know in Genesis 19:5 as meaning something other than sexual knowledge9 is untenable in light of verse 7, in which Lots daughters are offered as an alternative to the men.10 Homosexual relations are clearly in view here and they are almost certainly construed negatively. The type of homosexual union negatively construed, however, is far from what is typical today , and the broader context which concerns a breach of Eastern hospitality is at least partly involved in the negative construal.11

As an important corrective to those who might judge the sin of Sodom to be homosexual relations alone, Bailey and others rightly point out that the Bible on the whole interprets the sin of Sodom very broadly to include things other than homosexual intercourse, such as pride and insensitivity to the poor . This does not mean, however, that the sexual dimension is ignored in the biblical witness important here is Jude 7, which refers to Sodoms indulgence in unnatural lusts, and 2 Peter 2:6 which mentions Lots oppression by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men.13 Of course, only at a later period does Sodom become a byword specifically for homosexual relations.

What The New Testament Says About Homosexuality

    Volume 21-3May-June 2008

Mainline Christian denominations in this country are bitterly divided over the question of homosexuality. For this reason it is important to ask what light, if any, the New Testament sheds on this controversial issue. Most people apparently assume that the New Testament expresses strong opposition to homosexuality, but this simply is not the case. The six propositions that follow, considered cumulatively, lead to the conclusion that the New Testament does not provide any direct guidance for understanding and making judgments about homosexuality in the modern world.

    Biblical Passages That Mention Homosexuality:

    Biblical passages that mention homosexuality:

Leviticus 18:22 – Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman that is detestable.

Leviticus 20:13 – If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death their blood will be on their own heads.

Romans 1:24-27 – Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator – who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

I Corinthians 6:9 – Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men.

1 Timothy 1:10 – For the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers – and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine.

So Really Does The Bible Condemn Homosexuality

The short answer, or those who like the cliff notes version, No. Ultimately the Bible does not condemn homosexuality. Wait, you want an explanation, dont you? In that case, here we go! The LGBTQ+ community has been demonized by greater American society for a long time. From the Hays Code enacted in 1934 to the response to the AIDS pandemic in the 1980s and 1990s, the LGBTQ+ community has always been on the marginalized side of things.

While we have come farther in terms of greater societal acceptance , the LGBTQ+ community is still routinely vilified in conservative circles, especially in the lucrative evangelical Christian voting block.

It’s incredibly painful but many of us have heard pastors of all church sizes- from the rural one room church in the middle of nowhere to behemoths like Bethel- speak from the pulpit, that queer people are unfortunate sinners at best all the way to terrible to the core . It’s especially degrading to hear some of them blame horrific tragedies that have happened in the world on having given the gays an inch, and God is angry.

It’s traumatic to hear another human blame my love for another woman on hurricanes that have ruined entire communities, earthquakes that have crushed families, and fires that have burned towns to the ground. Heck, even Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson blamed 9/11 on, the pagans, the abortionists, the feminists, the gays, and the lesbians.

Love, the thing that Jesus talked a lot about.
