How Many Prophecies Are Fulfilled In The Bible

Jesus Will Be A Gentle Redeemer Of The Gentiles

What are the Prophecies that need to be Fulfilled before the Rapture?

Prophecy:

“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets.A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.In faithfulness he will bring forth justice he will not falter or be discouragedtill he establishes justice on earth. In his teaching the islands will put their hope” .

Fulfillment:

“Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. A large crowd followed him, and he healed all who were ill. He warned them not to tell others about him. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:

‘Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not quarrel or cry out no one will hear his voice in the streets.A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory. In his name the nations will put their hope.'” .

The Messiah Will Be Silent Before His Accusers

Psalm 35:11 Malicious witnesses testify against me. They accuse me of things I dont even know about.

Isaiah 53:7-8a He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet He never said a word. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, He did not open His mouth. From prison and trial they led Him away to His death.

Ten Statements Jesus Made About Himself:

  • Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
  • The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.
  • the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.
  • You are right in saying I am .
  • I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.
  • I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my words, he will never see death.
  • No one takes from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my father.
  • My sheep listen to my voice I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish no one can snatch them out of my hand.
  • I and the Father are one.
  • I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes to the father except through me.

The Possibility Of Jesus Fulfilling Every Prophecy

As mentioned in the beginning, mathematician Peter Stoner applies the modern science of probability to just eight of these prophecies. This lead him to conclude that the chance of the prophesied Messiah fulfilling all eight is one in 100,000,000,000,000,000.

In order to comprehend this staggering probability, Stoner illustrates:

we take 10^17 silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas. They will cover the state two feet deep. Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly. Blindfold a man and tell him that he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one. What chance would he have of getting the right one?

Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing just eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man, from their day to the present time, providing they wrote in their own wisdom This means that the fulfillment of just eight prophecies alone proves that God inspired the writing of those prophecies to a definiteness which lacks only one chance in 10^17 of being absolute.

The Messiah To Die By Crucifixion With Pierced Hands And Feet

    Fulfilled Biblical Prophecies (full length)

Psalm 22:14-16 My life is poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax, melting within Me. My strength has dried up like sunbaked clay. My tongue sticks to the roof of My mouth. You have laid Me in the dust and left Me for dead. My enemies surround Me like a pack of dogs an evil gang closes in on Me. They have pierced My hands and feet.

Zechariah 12:10a Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on all the people of Jerusalem. They will look on Me whom they have pierced and mourn for Him as for an only son.

The Messiah Will Pour Out His Spirit

    Prophecy:

“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants”

    Fulfillment:

“But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you but if I go, I will send him to you” .

Babylon Will Rule Over Judah For 70 Years

You can read the first such prophecy in Jeremiah 25:11-12. This prophecy was written sometime from 626 to about 586 BC and was not fulfilled until about 609 BC to 539 BC

“…This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years. But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt,” declares the Lord, “and will make it desolate forever” .

In this passage of Scripture, Jeremiah said that the Jews would suffer 70 years of Babylonian domination, and that after this was over, Babylon would be punished. Both parts of this prophecy were fulfilled! In 609 BC, Babylon captured the last Assyrian king and took over the holdings of the Assyrian empire, which included the land of Israel. Babylon then began to flex its muscles by taking many Jews as captives to Babylon and by destroying Jerusalem and the Temple. This domination of the Jews ended in 539 BC, when Cyrus, a leader of Persians and Medes, conquered Babylon, bringing an end to the empire. The prophecy also had another fulfillment: the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem’s Temple in 586 BC, but the Jews rebuilt it and consecrated it 70 years later, in 516 BC. Restoring the Temple showed, in a very important way, that the effects of Babylonian domination had indeed come to an end.

    Bible Prophecy Has Been Fulfilled

    • May 15, 2021

I believe all Bible prophecy has been fulfilled. The promises of God to man from Genesis 3:15 and forward were fulfilled before the end of the first century AD at the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD. The points that directly reach the subject of salvation for man is what should truly interest us. Being in a correct relationship with God is of vital importance if brain one is remotely active, Our existence is temporary if we have not noticed yet. We can start that life we have now by obeying Gods law in the New Testament .

The importance of fulfilled Bible prophecy for the everyday person in humble obedience to Gods will is gigantic in proportions to atheistic styles of living. An idol is nothing in this world, and there is none other God but one. . To be a true Christian and be living for Him who died for us is beyond words. . I am not waiting for peace of mind, or rest from my biological surroundings to come and happening. I already have those comforts today. . Christ has already come again and raised the dead and saved willing to be forgiven those who desired such. .

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life. . New Testament Christianity is just that the tree of eternal life . Who can believe 2,000 years have come and gone and some still think some Bible promises are yet to be fulfilled? . Remember, the scriptures were not written last week, or have we forgotten? Christianity is the right religion now .

Preterism: Has All Prophecy Been Fulfilled

    Definition

Full preterism teaches that all biblical prophecy has been fulfilled, including the second coming of Christ, Satan and the Antichrist being thrown into the lake of fire, the resurrection of the dead, and the full arrival of the kingdom of God.

    Summary

While there is a partial variety of preterism that finds more agreement with much of evangelical theology, full preterism is the position that all biblical prophecy has been fulfilled: the coming of Christ in judgment was fulfilled in the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, Satan and Antichrist have been thrown into the lake of fire, the kingdom of God has arrived, the resurrection is understood in spiritual terms, the Great Commission has been fulfilled, all things have been made new , the promised restoration has arrived, and the world now continues as it is ad infinitum. Problems with this position include that it does not take the already-not yet pattern of the New Testament into account, it over-emphasizes some statements in the Gospels to the exclusion of others, and that it does not line up with the timeline of the New Testament documents, our experience of the world, or the theology of the early church.

About The Prophecy Of The Psalms

The Psalms are a collection of the hymns of ancient Israel. Scholars divide them into five groups:

  • Hymns in praise of Gods glory
  • Community lamentations
  • Royal hymns for special occasions
  • Individual prayers
  • Individual praise and thanksgiving
  • It is difficult to date the individual psalms. King David is credited with writing many of them, and the collection of these hymns continued after the days of Israels exile. It is believed the collection was finalized before the second century B.C.

    About The Prophecy Of Zechariah

Zechariah the prophet came from a priestly family. He was a visionary, who with the prophet Haggai worked on the rebuilding of the Temple. The New Testament Gospels quote Zechariah more than any other prophet.

Part one of the book of Zechariah was written in 520 B.C. Zechariah spoke about the judgment and salvation of God and about the coming Messiah who would be a priest, governor, humble king and afflicted shepherd.

    Biblical Prophecies Fulfilled By Jesus

The passion of Jesus Christ stands alone as the most important event creation has ever known. The Bible tells us that long before the world began, God had planned that the crucifixion of Jesus would be the method and payment for sin the only payment that would reconcile sinners to a holy and loving God.

1 Peter 1:19-20 He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose Him for this purpose long before the world began, but now in these final days, He was sent to the earth for all to see. And He did this for you.

Down through history, God provided us a roadmap. He foretold various signs and conditions through His prophets. These prophets spoke of things that mankind should watch for so that the Messiah would be recognized and believed. These signs or prophecies were given to us in the Old Testament. The Old Testament is the part of the Bible written before Jesus was born. Its writings were completed in 450 B.C. The Old Testament, written hundreds of years before Jesus birth, contains over 300 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled through His life, death and resurrection.

Mathematically speaking, the odds of anyone fulfilling this amount of prophecy are staggering. Mathematicians put it this way:

1 person fulfilling 8 prophecies: 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000 1 person fulfilling 48 prophecies: 1 chance in 10 to the 157th power 1 person fulfilling 300+ prophecies: Only Jesus!

    A Word About God’s Prophets

    Jesus Would Teach In Parables

    Jesus fulfilled prophecies

    Prophecy:

“My people, hear my teaching listen to the words of my mouth.I will open my mouth with a parable I will utter hidden things, things from of old”

    Fulfillment:

“Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables he did not say anything to them without using a parable. So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet:

‘I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world'” .

The Greatest Old Testament Prophecy Of All

There are literally hundreds of other fulfilled prophecies that we could describe here, but clearly one stand head and shoulders above the rest, and we really need to take a minute to describe it. While the Jews were certainly comforted by prophecies that predicted that their enemies would eventually be destroyed, there was a far more comforting prophecy that had bee described in the Old Testament. It was a prophecy that predicted the coming of a Messiah, a savior who would deliver the Jews. While there we dozens of messianic prophecies in the Old Testament scriptures, one of these was incredibly specific in its claims. As we examine this prophecy, we can confirm the supernatural and divine inspiration of the Bible.

    The Coming of the Messiah

In 538 B.C. Daniel wrote the following bold prediction:

Daniel 9:25 So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks of years and sixty-two weeks of years

In this prophecy, Daniel is claiming that there will be 69 weeks of years between the issuing of a decree to rebuild Jerusalem and the appearance of the Messiah. Now keep in mind that this bold prediction came 538 years before Christ was born.

    > Nehemiah 2:5,6 Send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers tombs, that I may rebuild it. So it pleased the king to send me.
