St Joseph The Worker Church

St Joseph The Worker Shrine

St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church | Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Times

We who minister at the Shrine are committed to work collaboratively with one another and with you. Our aim is to provide a place of prayer, conscious reflection, and social action that is hospitable to and calls forth the gifts of all who come to the Shrine. We do this in the spirit of Jesus Christ and of Saint Eugene de Mazenod, founder of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.

Our mission is based on Matthew 11:28:

Come to me all you who labor and are overburdened, and I will give you rest.

God Revealed In Christ

This Sunday, we celebrate the revelation of God incarnate as Jesus Christ in what is sometimes called the Three Kingsâ Day. In the familiar story, the magi from the East follow the star to Bethlehem to do homage to the newborn child and bring him gifts. Although we do not offer gold, frankincense, and myrrh, we still can adore Jesus and do him homage by making good use of all the gifts we receive from God and offering our labor as prayer.
