What Am I Risking By Living Together Before Marriage
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
How much do you really love your S.O.? When we were cohabitating, it was hard to resist sexual temptation. But I had to do it.;I had to consider how much I loved him. Like, love loved him. I knew that I loved him enough to not condemn his soul. All I could think about was the what-ifs? What if we gave in and he died in his sleep? What if we hooked up and I died in a car accident the next day? My friends laughed at my obsession with death, but I had to be spiritually realistic about it. No man knows the time or the hour and we;didnt want to take away our;salvation or;put ourselves;in a place where we;didnt have the chance to repent. If he was going down, it wasnt going to be because of me! Remember Eph 5:5

Jesus On Divorce And Remarriage:
Furthermore it has been said, Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce. But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.
The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?And He answered and said to them, Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.They said to Him, Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?He said to them, Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.His disciples said to Him, If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to marry.But He said to them, All cannot accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been given ;

Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body;.;The definition of flee is run away from a place or situation of danger. Its sort of difficult to run hard and fast from danger when its literally in your house and in front of you every day.

Surprising Things That The Bible Says About Sex
More By Paul
The Bible is a book about God, about us, and about how God saves us through the person and work of Jesus Christ; therefore, it isnt terribly surprising to discover that the Bible has a great deal to say about sex. Human beings are sexual creatures God made us male and female therefore the story of creation, fall, and redemption is necessarily, at least in part, a story about human sexuality.
Parts of that story are relatively well known, but other parts can be quite unexpected even shocking to the first time Bible reader. Among the most surprising revelations would be the following:

Is Living Together But Not Sleeping Together Okay
While living together before marriage does not equate to actively sinning, having sex before being married does, and almost always, couples who live together are also having sex. In the interest of staying away from plenty of what ifs, specific nuances, and gray areas that do not bring many benefits to the core points of the subject, living together before marriage is a very easy gateway to sinning. And although there are many seemingly compelling secular arguments for living together before marriage, all of them can be;gently and credibly refuted.
Living Together Is Playing With Fire
Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 7:9, But if they cannot exercise self-control,;they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion. In reality, humans are sexual beings. Were wired to crave physical intimacy. If youre one of the naïve people who think I can live together with my significant other and stay sexually pure, I hate to tell you this, but youre playing with fire. Fires are awesome. They serve a purpose. They bring warmth. They bring beauty. But theyre supposed to be contained in a fireplace or stove. The minute the fire gets out of its boundaries it reeks chaos and destruction. The rule of thumb is if you play with fire, you will get burned. Proverbs 6:27-29 says, Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned? Or can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched?;So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife; none who touches her will go unpunished. Last time I checked if youre not married, that other person is not your wife or your husband. That proverb applies here.

Scriptures On Living Together Before Marriage
The honeymoon was over before the wedding day ever arrived. Last month I posted some statistics on living together before marriage. Since then I have received a number of inquiries as to what the Bible says about living together. So in this post I would like to share some of the Biblical teaching about living together before marriage.
The statistics in last months post showed a high correlation between living together and undesirable outcomes. This should not be surprising, because the Bible has some strong things to say about living together. God is a loving God, and he gives us his commands for our protection. Those who choose not to live together before marriage will likely avoid many of the negative outcomes described in the earlier post. Here are some Scriptures on living together before marriage:
You will notice from these Bible verses that I am assuming couples who live together are also sexually involved. And I think in most cases thats a pretty fair assumption. I will address the situation of couples who live together but are not sexually active in a later post. But let me end this post by sharing the testimony of a young woman that I think effectively sums up some of the major problems of living together before marriage.
Do you have any thoughts or response to all this? Feel free to share them in the comments.

Fruits Of Repentance And Purity
For example, let me use an illustration: a couple is pregnant and living together regularly sleeping together because they think that, because they are committed and moving towards marriage, sexual relations is okay. You meet those folks. There are a lot of them out there. What I say to this couple is that they are living in sin. And, Would they repent and bear the fruits worthy of repentance, fitting repentance ? And that fruit would be to move out and stop living together until they are married. Now if they refuse, I tell them: No, I wont do the wedding. And if they are members of my church, they would be disciplined for that kind of willful sin. In my experience, couples have walked away. They have gone to find somebody else who will agree with their values.
Neither the sin of fornication, nor the presence of a baby, makes repentance and holiness impossible.
We have talked before on this podcast of the painful failure to offer pure and virgin bodies to each other at the altar of marriage. We have talked about that. That is a great sadness. But, it is not unforgivable. Purity on the other side of sin is possible through the justifying and sanctifying work of Christ. That is what I want these couples who have sinned to embrace. And the fact that they, in their past, have the sin of fornication and a child is present in the womb doesnt diminish the possibility of purity and holiness in the present and in the future.

What Does The Bible Say About Not Getting Married
Bible Gateway 1 Corinthians 7 :: NIV. But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. How Jesus Confronted Cohabitation
John 4 gives us a perfect example of how Jesus lovingly interacted with a person who chose to cohabit. In this passage, Jesus was passing through a Samaritan town on the way to Galilee. There He meets a woman at the well drawing water, and He asks for a drink. She is obviously surprised by this request since, in the culture of the time, Jews and Samaritans rarely spoke or interacted with one another.;
In this story, three things stand out about how Jesus approached the conversation in a loving, edifying way.
The Bible Says To Get Married
But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband;.;
If youre dating and living together, or engaged and living together, youre in sin. To avoid this sin, the Bible has a simple solutionget married! If youre already living together and arent sure if you should get married, then stop sinning. Move out. Regroup. Get counsel and make a wise decision moving forward. But dont stay in your sin and hope it all works out in the endbecause it wont. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap;. To be a believer and continue in willful sin is a terrifying place to be. We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day;. God takes sexual sin seriously, so we should too.
