What Is The King Of Kings Bible

List Of Kings In The Bible In Order

Is the King James Version of the Bible the most accurate translation?

We have made you a list of kings mentioned in the Bible for Israel, and when Israel and Judah became separate nations.

King SaulKing Saul was the first king of Israel and for a time was a good king, but God rejected him because of his disobedience to God . He never fully obeyed God and David was chosen to be the next king even though it would be roughly ten years before David would actually sit on the throne as King.

King DavidKing David is the favorite of all kings for the Jews and in his lineage of course is Jesus Christ . He became Israels greatest earthly king and one of the most prolific writers in the Bible with the Book of Psalms.

King SolomonSolomon was the son of David and became the heir to the throne as the third king of Israel after the death of his father, David. He later married foreign wives who led his heart away from the Lord and into idolatry but he would later repent and wrote the greatest book of wisdom ever written the Book of Proverbs as well as the wisdom literature of the Book of Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon.

God Knows Us Completely And Wants Us To Know Him

He offers us the chance for a deep and loving connection. When our hearts align with Gods, well take on more of his compassion and grace.

Therefore, as Gods chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience .

God is truly worthy of the title King of Kings and Lord of Lords But He will never force us to honor Him that way. If we are willing to lay down our own desire to control, we will see evidence of His righteous rule in our lives.

– Victory over death

Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ .

– Triumph over sin

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lords favor .

– Superiority over the world

In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world .

The very beginning of the Bible gives a detailed account of God creating the heavens and earth. All of nature, animals, birds and other creatures and finally mankind came to life at His command. Scripture goes on to celebrate the wonderful fact that nothing God created can ever be greater than He is.

But I tell you, in this you are not right, for God is greater than any mortal .

Lord God,

In Jesus Name,

Meet Your King Of Kings Messiah Yeshua

On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

When we hear that Yeshua has the magnificent title of King of kings and Lord of lords, God is telling us that He is superior in abilities and authority of all earthly kings combined.

It might be difficult to imagine what it means to us personally that Yeshua is our King, the Monarch whom all monarchs, leaders, and each one of us will one day submit to.

Yeshua Appears to the Disciples after His Resurrection,, by William Hole

We can begin thinking of Yeshua as our Heavenly Messianic ruler by understanding how He is different from the kings of our world.

Many people look to their earthly kings and leaders as a kind of Messiah.

However, no matter how hard some leaders try to be good rulers, they still struggle with temptations and commit sins.

Even King David who loved God had weaknesses, made mistakes, and committed a grave sin that he tried to cover up with an even graver sin

But Yeshua, despite all the temptations He faced, never sinned. We can feel safe and secure in His Kingdom knowing that He will rule over us according to Gods pure and holy intentions toward us without the turmoil of earthly sins that leaders commit.

Yeshua Speaks at the Treasury, by James Tissot

Some earthly kings and rulers create laws according to traditions and cultural norms of their nation, trying to do what is good.

Yeshua: King Of Righteousness

In the beginning of the Bible in Genesis 14, God provided a foreshadowing of Messiah Yeshua as the coming righteous Messiah through His first earthly king Melchizedek, , meaning King of Righteousness, or my King is Righteousness.

The Prophet Jeremiah helped us identify the Messianic King of Righteousness and he gives us a sense of what His kingdom will be like:

Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.

In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely and this is His name by which He will be called, The LORD our righteousness .

As our Righteous King, Yeshua will reign with abundant wisdom, not judging us by the size of our homes, money in our bank accounts, or how well we dress, as perhaps our coworkers, neighbors, and family do.

No, our King Yeshua will judge our hearts .

How do we prepare our hearts so they pass King Yeshuas judgment?

We do what Yeshua, Yohann , and the apostles repeatedly told the people to do: Repent and believe the good news!

To repent is to return to doing and thinking righteousness by emulating the ways of our King of Righteousness.

King Of Kings Already But Not Yet

Bible proof: Ancient palace of KING DAVID discovered

Three times in the New Testament, Jesus is referred to as King of kings and Lord of lords. Paul uses the phrase in his first letter to Timothy, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which he will display at the proper time he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light .

In Revelation 17:14, we read this, They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.

Then again in Revelation 19:16, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

In Revelation 1:5 we are told of the position and authority of Jesus, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. And Jesus’ own words taught, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me .

Clearly, the use of King of kings and Lord of lords refers to the supreme power, rule, and authority of Jesus. No one compares with his strength and authority now or forevermore. His rule is established now. Indeed, Jesus was, is, and will be the King of kings.

In his first coming, Jesus launched the last days and in his return, he will complete the work.

Where Do We See God Called The King Of Kings And Lord Of Lords

Though Old Testament books may not use the exact phrase King of Kings and Lord of Lords, there are many declarations of Gods supreme rule:

Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded? He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing .

The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all .

David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, Praise be to you, Lord, the God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you you are the ruler of all things .

In the New Testament, this title is bestowed on Jesus as well. Christ, which means anointed king, was part of His name. And He proved Himself to be a member of what we now call the Trinity – God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit.

When Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared to the disciples, revealing that God had given Him dominion.

Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me .

Yeshua: King Of The New Jerusalem

The History of The King James Bible (KJV Documentary 2022)

In Genesis 14 we read that Melchizedek was not only the king of Righteousness He was also the King of Salem .

Salem became the city of Jerusalem, City of Peace.

Jerusalem today is certainly not the peaceful city its name suggests.

Its fraught with spiritual and political tensions, not to mention movements to divide up the land among Israels enemies. But all of this turmoil is only temporary until Messiah returns.

Yeshua Enters Jerusalem, by William Hole depicts Yeshua fulfilling the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9: Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Yeshua is not coming back to New York, Sydney, Cape Town, or London. The King of kings, the Righteous Branch from the line of King David will reign in Zion , the New Jerusalem!

God is going to replace this troubled city and its rulers with a New King of true peace .

No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will serve Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. And they will reign for ever and ever .

What It Means For Us That God Is King Of Kings And Lord Of Lords

When we see God as the King of Kings, we are agreeing that He has absolute dominion. The title ought to stir up a sense of respect, worship, and even wonder within us.

Giving God rule over our lives is not meant to be a fearful thing, though. In fact, letting God take His rightful place in our hearts is the beginning of a wonderful new life. For this King longs to be in close relationship with each of His people.

Since He created us, He knows us intimately. And our Lord desires for us to grow in character so that we become more like him. As we let Him change us, well be more aware of His power working in and through us, for good.

Reflecting on God this way will actually impact our character:

Bible Verses About Jesus As King Of Kings

And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.read more. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Have you considered how the decisions you make perhaps this very day will have an impact on generations to come?

We studied last week about King Solomon making an unwise decision to marry women with whom the Lord told him not to associate. God told Solomon, I will not tear away the entire kingdom I will leave your son one tribe for my servant Davids sake and for the sake of my chosen city Jerusalem .

Solomon had over 1,000 women , but he had only one son mentioned in Scripture, Rehoboam . It is wise to consider that perhaps Solomons sin bore many consequences. Not only did he have just one son, most of the kingdom was taken from this son and his son was considered a fool.

Scripture clearly reveals to us through Solomons example, Sin is a bad way of building up a family , and The character of each king set the direction for the nation . Our character and choices matter on earth and in eternity.

Experience Speaks . Rehoboam was forty years old when he took the throne after Solomons death. However, his age was no giver of wisdom. Wisdom does not go by age, nor is it the multitude of years nor the advantage of education that reaches it .

Representatives from different tribes went before Rehoboam and asked, Your father made us work too hard. Now if you lighten the demands he made and dont make us work as hard, we will serve you .

When The King Of Kings Will Come

The Startling Truth About One of History

Through the Old Testament prophet Joel, God revealed that great cosmic disturbances would precede Christs return. As the prophet wrote, The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD .

Adding to this teaching, Jesus explained: Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory .

From these passages, we see that Jesus will come after these heavenly signs appear. Additionally, Jesus said that these signs will occur immediately after the tribulation. Thus, Christs return will come after the Tribulation.

One of the first things Jesus will do upon His return is to restore the Kingdom of God here on earth. One of the first things Jesus will do upon His return is to restore the Kingdom of God here on earth. Faithful Christians, who will be changed into spirit at Christs return, will assist Him in His role as King of Kings and Lord of Lords over the entire earth. Under Jesus, these spirit beings will serve as kings and priests to help humanity learn Gods ways .
