The cedars of Lebanon, now extinct themselves, were over 130 feet tall and had stout trunks that could be over 8 feet in diameter. In Job 40:19 the enormous creature ranked first in all of Gods works . Its size allowed it to be unfazed by a raging river and irresistible to humans or other animals that tried to trap it .

Sometime after the original creation, man sinned and this perfect world was corrupted in many ways. Eventually, God saw fit to punish the wickedness that had overtaken the world. But he spared Noah, a just man, and perfect among his generations and Noah walked with God.

What Did Dinosaurs Eat
The Bible teaches that the original animals were commanded to be vegetarian. There were no meat eaters in the original creation. Furthermore, there was no death. It was an unblemished world, with Adam and Eve and animals living in perfect harmony, eating only plants.
Sadly, it did not stay this way for very long. Adam rebelled against his Creator, bringing sin into the world . Because of this rebellion, Adam, and thus all of his descendants , gave up the right to live with a Holy and just God. God therefore judged sin with death.

Could these animals God was describing in the Bible have been what we today would call a dinosaur or dragon? While there have been some who say Job may have been describing a hippopotamus and a crocodile, I know of no hippo with a tail like a cedar tree, nor any crocodile that breathes fire. It sounds very possible that the Book of Job and Richard Owen could have been talking about the same terrible lizard.

There is a red dragon in Revelation 12:1-18. Boll believes that the dragon corresponds best with the constellation Hydra which extends through one third of the zodiac. Just above the Hydra are the constellations Corax with 7 stars corresponding to 7 heads, and Crater with 10 stars corresponding to 10 horns, or 10 dorsal fins. Another possibility is the ancient constellation of Scorpio .

On today’s star charts I think the dragon should be identified with the constellation Serpens . The seven heads would be the constellation Corona Borealis which consists of 7 stars. This serpent is right at the feet of the constellation Virgo and Hercules. The Archangel Michael would be the constellation Hercules waiting to make war with the serpent .

Perhaps the most frequent questions asked of me related to the age of the earth are these: What do Christians say about dinosaurs? How do Christians account for dinosaurs and the death we observe in the fossil record? Doesnt the very existence of dinosaurs in the fossil record, contradict the claims of the Bible? Theres an impression, even amongst Christians, dinosaurs present the Christian community with a true dilemma. There seems to be something contradictory about the archeological record of dinosaur life, and the biblical record of creation. This apparent contradiction exists for a number of reasons, and as a community, we need to talk about them so we can move forward to accurately evaluate the natural and special revelation God has given us.
The second issue plaguing Christians as they consider the possibility dinosaurs existed millions of years ago , is the belief the earth is far too young to account for the long dinosaur history indicated in the fossil record. But, as controversial as it sometimes seems, many Christians believe in a very ancient earth , and hold to these beliefs while simultaneously retaining the utmost respect for the authority of Scripture.

Where Did Dinosaurs Come From
Evolutionists claim that dinosaurs evolved over millions of years. They imagine that one kind of animal slowly changed over long periods of time to become a different kind of animal. For instance, they believe that amphibians changed into reptiles by this gradual process. This would mean, of course, that there would have been millions of creatures during that time that would be in between, as amphibians evolved into reptiles. Evidence of these transitional forms, as they are called, should be abundant. However, many fossil experts admit that not one unquestionable transitional form between any group of creatures and another has been found anywhere. If dinosaurs evolved from amphibians, there should be, for example, fossil evidence of animals that are part dinosaur and part something else. However, there is no proof of this anywhere. In fact, if you go into any museum you will see fossils of dinosaurs that are 100% dinosaur, not something in between. There are no 25%, 50%, 75%, or even 99% dinosaursthey are all 100% dinosaur!
The Bible tells us that God created all of the land animals on the sixth day of creation. As dinosaurs were land animals, they must have been made on this day, alongside Adam and Eve, who were also created on Day Six . If God designed and created dinosaurs, they would have been fully functional, designed to do what they were created for, and would have been 100% dinosaur. This fits exactly with the evidence from the fossil record.
