We come to the gospel with our own ideas and perspectives about the world. Some are more accurate than others, but theyre all colored by our culture and education. If we want to learn to recognize where God is leading us, we need to transform the way we think. This means becoming vigilant about what we allow into our minds and what we choose to dwell on .
God Is A Source Of Courage
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
This verse appears at a crucial moment in the history of Gods people. Having spent 40 years living in the wilderness, they are about to enter the land God Has promised to them, but they expect to face a fierce fight for that land.
God is always with you no matter what you face. He does not command you to be courageous in your own strength. Take courage in the knowledge of His presence and power with you.
Seek First His Kingdom
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
It might seem counterintuitive, but one of the best ways to discover Gods will is to focus instead on pursuing Him and learning what it means to live as a citizen of Gods kingdom. The more we press in to Jesus, the clearer the path before us becomes.

One of the keys to discovering Gods will lies in our humility. This means being willing to let go of our schemes and the idea that we know best. The road that God sets before us is often completely different than the one we would have planned, and it takes humility to recognize it.
God Wills We Avoid Sexual Immorality
It is Gods will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God.
When we think about Gods will, we tend to think about big questions like, What does God want me to do for a living? But there are many areas where God has already revealed His will for us, and when we are attentive to those areas, the others become a little easier to discern.
The first step to discerning Gods will is to obey Him in the things Hes already communicated to us.

Gods Children Are Led By His Spirit
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
Paul calls the Holy Spirit a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance as Gods children. One thing that separates the children of God from everyone else is that the Spirit of God leads them. This coincides with the Old Testament theme of God leading His people of Egypt and guiding them to the promised land.
God Is Working For Your Good
We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
God cares about and has a plan for your life. His will is for you to know Him through a relationship with Jesus and to love Him and others as you grow to be more like Jesus. He promises that no matter what wonderful or terrible things come your way, He will work all of them out to make you more like Christ and establish your place in His kingdom. He can restore anything broken. He is always at work on behalf of those who love Him.

A shepherd guides and looks after the sheep in his care. Jesus, the Son of God, is the Good Shepherd, and His followers are His sheep. There is only one God of the Universe who made you, knows what you need and calls you His own.
Jesus is a good shepherd. Hes 100 percent trustworthy. He always knows whats best for you, even if its not easy. To follow Him, you need to know Him and listen for Him. What Does The Bible Tell Us About Hard Times
We all experience some hard times while living in our fallen world, the Bible says. Gods original design for our world has become corrupted by sin, and because of that, all of creation is suffering. As Romans 8:22 points out, We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. However, the good news is that Jesus redemptive work makes it possible for us to be strong during hard times. Jesus tells us that trouble is guaranteed in this world, but so is his help to deal with it. In John chapter 16, Jesus tells his disciples that their grief will eventually turn to joy. He declares in John 16:33: I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Our pain is never wasted when we choose to trust God. As we place our hope in God during hard times, something wonderful happens God uses our pain to grow joy in our lives. Psalm 126:5-6 presents the incredible promise that the tears we cry act like seeds that can grow into joy: Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.

Trust What Jesus Did For You
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
The confidence you have is in what Jesus did on the cross. Your sin required death. It required a sacrifice. Instead of you dying, Christ took that on Himself. He paid for your sins. Your faith is in who Jesus is and what Hes done, not in anything you have or will do.
Putting your faith in Jesus does not require a list of good deeds to earn good standing with God. You could never achieve what it takes to be in Gods presence. So a perfect, sinless Savior did what you could not. You can trust in this salvation because it is dependent on something Jesus has already accomplished.
A Prayer When You Struggle To Trust God
Lord, you see the circumstances I face today, and you know the fear and anxiety I feel. Forgive me for letting worry overtake my thoughts.
Pour out a spirit of belief over me, so I can choose to trust you. There is no God like you, awesome in power, working wonders. I praise you for the faithfulness you have shown me so many times in the past.
Lord Jesus, even though I feel worried, I will choose to trust you. Help me remind myself today of your great love and power. Help me identify fearful, anxious thoughts and lay them at the foot of your cross. Give me the grace and power I need to meditate on truths from your Word instead. Help me also speak positive words that will inspire others to trust you as well.
You are my salvation. You have already saved me from sin, and I know you have the power to save me from my troubles now. Thank you for being with me. I know you have plans to bless me and work for my good.
