Fear Of Financial Stress

Bible Verse of the Day – Isaiah 41:10 Do Not Fear For I am With You

14. And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. )

15. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, Never will I leave you never will I forsake you. So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

16. So dont worry about these things, saying, What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Two Commands Supported By Five Reasons

Lets look at the verse, Isaiah 41:10, and then see how the preceding verses intensify the point of the verse. There are two commands in the verse not to fear and five pillars of fearlessness. Fear not is the first command at the beginning of the verse. And then the second is do not anxiously look about you .

As always in the Bible, there are reasons for the commands. Commands dont hang in the air with no basis in reality. If God commands us to do something, there are good reasons to do it. And power comes from understanding and believing those reasons.

Our Final Ground For Fearlessness

We come to the end of this series with one great ground for fearlessness God!

  • I am your God.
  • I will help you.
  • I will uphold you.

I call you this morning to stop defining and limiting your future in terms of your past and start defining it in terms of your God.

I call you to recognize that God is greater than your personality. God is greater than your past experiences of timidity. God is greater than your family of origin. And God calls you to joyful fearlessness. The crucial factor in your fearless living is not your family but your God.

Let not your hearts be troubled, believe in God. Believe in God! Trust God! Let God be your God! Your help. Your strength. He will uphold you with his righteous right hand.

The Difference Between Faith And Fear

Do Not Fear For I Am With You Do Not Be Dismayed, Isaiah ...

Its one thing to read the words, fear not, its quite another to put faith into practice over our fears. Its not always an easy choice, but thats what fear is a choice. Instead, we can choose to:

  • Not allow fear and anxiety to steer our lives.
  • Choose to guard your heart.
  • Choose to focus your mind and heart on the Word of God.

The next time fear rises, turn your attention to Gods promises. Turn your spirit to His. Ignite your faith by prayer and reading His Word. Replace every fearful thought with Scripture because God is bigger than our fears.

He gives us power and strength when we are at the end of our rope and we feel like we are falling into an ocean of, what ifs. Instead of what if, turn those thoughts to Even if Because God has you in the palm of His mighty hands.

The Promise Of Isaiah : 10

Even this morning, as I woke early to leave for Jazzercise, fear crept into my mind to whisper that I would be mugged and murdered. I rolled my eyes and thought how unlikely that would be since I live in a tiny farm town in the middle of Nebraska.

But there have been times where I was afraid, very afraid. Shaking and full of terror I could barely catch my breath, when I whispered, Jesus, I am so afraid. I am so scared.

As my body shook like a tree in a hurricane, God whispered back, Daughter, fear not, I am with you. Then the rest of His Words filled my soul, penetrating every part of my fear.

Fear not, for I am with you Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand .

What Does ‘fear Not’ Mean In The Bible

Many of us have heard variations of the words “fear not” or “take heart,” depending on the translation we use. What does fear not mean? Let’s take a look at the original Hebrew and Greek for some hints as to the meaning behind these words.

Yare in the Hebrew means either a fear or astonishment.

According to Strong’s ” yârê, yaw-ray’ a primitive root to fear morally to revere causatively to frighten:affright, be afraid, dread, fear, reverence, × see, terrible .”

In other words, when the Bible tells us to fear not, it means to not experience dread. After all, we have a powerful God. Now, let’s take a look at the Greek.

“Take heart” or “be of good cheer” in the New Testament comes from the Greek word tharseo. It means to have courage and be of good comfort. Jesus uses this phrase a number of times when he heals the sick , and comforts his disciples . It reminds us that no matter what our current circumstance that we have a God who has overcome the world.
