Daily Devotional Bible Verse
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
When I was younger I suffered from bouts of depression and anxiety. In this season of anxiety, what I faced most was worry. I had a hard time keeping my mind focused on the now and taking care of what was in front of me.
One of the only things that provided me with clarity and calm was repeating to myself, Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble .
As I would repeat this verse, my thoughts would slow and my worries lessen.
As a grown man, I have been blessed by God with good health both mentally and physically. However, that does not stop me from still allowing worry to overtake me on a fairly regular basis.
Some mornings I wake up with worry already on my mind, and it is my choice as to whether I let it spiral out of control, or I ask God to help me. I return to Matthew Chapter 6 but go back further starting at verse 25: Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? and I continue through verse 34.
After reading these verses I am reminded to place my faith of our Lord Jesus Christ and find rest in His words.
How To Overcome Worry
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isnt there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing? Look at the birds in the sky: They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Arent you more valuable than they are? And which of you by worrying can add even one hour to his life? Why do you worry about clothing? Think about how the flowers of the field grow they do not work or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these! And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, wont he clothe you even more, you people of little faith? So then, dont worry saying, What will we eat? or What will we drink? or What will we wear? For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.

How can we overcome worry and fear?
In this passage, Christ said the disciples had little faith . They had faith to believe God for eternal salvation but not for his daily provision. A preacher once said:
In this study, we will consider how to overcome worry.
But Now This Is What The Lord Says
This Bible passage is a great reminder that amids stress and any other emotional challenges God wants the very best for us.
He claims us as His own children, He has redeemed us, He personally knows each of us by name, and He doesn’t want us to be afraid. Luke 12:7 states that, “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid you are worth more than many sparrows”.
Set aside any anxiety that you have as you place your thoughts and your life in the Hands of your Father.

Be Aware Of Satans Schemes
Christians who dont focus on Gods Kingdom tend to pursue comfort, health, and prosperity. So, its easy for them to believe false teachers who promise that God wants all of His children to be healthy and wealthy. If you hold to this belief you can expect a rude awakening when life doesnt go your way.
Be aware, Satan has ruined countless lives by seducing them to believe God wont let anything bad happen to themonly to later deceive them into questioning Gods goodness when trials occur. To guard against the enemy you must be aware of his schemes.
Ephesians 4:14 warns, That we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
When Satan tempted Eve to distrust Gods motives, he got the foothold he needed to trick her into eating the forbidden fruit. And he wants to do the same to you so he can seduce you into rebelling against God .
After four years of watching my son have seizures, I recall how distressed I became. One day I told God, Im serving You and You wont heal my son? I quit! Thank God He brought me to repentance when the Spirit reminded me of a verse Id memorized, In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you .
Do Not Worry Bible Verses: Do Not Be Afraid Of Tomorrow God Is Alive

Some days you are happy, and other days you are in pain.
Anxiety, panic, and fear are typical components of life.
But through faith, we know we will overcome.
Thats why we pray to God, our Father, Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
About three weeks ago, I was gripped with so much fear and anxiety.
I lost hold of my faith for some hours as my patient bled after surgery.
She was a mother of three girls, and her husband was so confused and afraid for the worst.
The truth is, I was scared too.
I didnt know which way things would go, especially when routine medical advice was not consented to by the husband.
And then my faith sprang up from nowhere.
I remembered the words of God. So I knelt to pray, and that was it.
Things began to change miraculously for the better.
I know you are bothered about so many things in life too.
But, Do not be afraid.
Why?
Because whether you worry or not, it changes nothing.
Christ said, Can anyone of you, by worrying, add a single hour to your life?

Having confidence is a great way to dispel doubt. That is why this text provides such pointed instruction. Fully trusting in the Lord means that we should wholeheartedly depend on Him and His wisdom.
When we put total confidence in an all knowing God and allow Him to lead and direct us we will be less concerned about the things that worry us and more focused on His guidance and direction.
God knows the beginning from the end so there is nothing new to Him or nothing that will surprise Him. When you start to fret about others just acknowledge Him and let Him direct your path.

What Did Jesus Mean When He Said ‘do Not Worry For Tomorrow Will Worry About Itself’
Early in the book of Matthew, Jesus had just begun his ministry after being baptized and being tempted by Satan in the wilderness . As he engaged in preaching, he drew people to him, including his disciples , but also crowds of people desperate for hope. Jesus healed many of them from sickness and oppression , and then he went up on a mountain and began to teach the disciples in the context of active ministry.
The Sermon on the Mount, as it has come to be known, is recorded in Matthew 5-7 and is a far-ranging discussion of the ethics of the Kingdom of God. It includes teaching on anger, revenge, adultery, treatment of enemies, prayer, judgment of others, and more. In chapter 6, Jesus also devotes considerable time to the topic of anxiety, asking simply, Which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? . Instead, Jesus asks his listeners to look to nature and exhale as they consider the flowers of the fields and the birds of the air, who dont anxiously control every aspect of their lives, and yet flourish as God cares for them.
Do Not Worry About Tomorrow
One of my favorite bible verses is Matthew 6:26: “Look at the birds. They dont plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And arent you far more valuable to him than they are?”
This bible verse comes to my mind often, especially when sitting in my yard and either watching the birds or listening to their sweet song. This past year, I learned a lot about the wren after receiving a wren house from my Mom . This wren house is shown in the photo above and is the main character of this blog post.

my wren house was full of baby wrens. As you can see by the photo, fences were knocked down, large pine trees fell and branches thrown as if they were weightless. During that time this little wren house was moving back and forth like a pendulum. I was just waiting for it to launch and knew the I was afraid of the outcome. As the rain beat so hard against my window, I was no longer able to see the wren house through the downpour of rain. It was then that this bible verse came to mind.

Matthew : 25 Do Not Worry About Your Life Bible Verse
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
We are all humans. We do not know what tomorrow brings. We are also not sure about the future. Because we are not sure of what tomorrow brings, we must trust in God.
God knows the end from the beginning. He sees our future and knows what is best for us. Therefore, when you are worried about your condition, you should pray to God.
Think about your life God has spared your life against the devils wish. He has protected your soul against the will of the devil. If God protects your soul, will he not provide for your needs?
If you are sick, remember that you are alive. If you are yet to get a job, remember that you are not dead. God has kept you alive, even against the wish of your enemies. Will God not provide for you too?
Therefore, do not panic unnecessarily. Instead, be prayerful and steadfast in his service. God will surely act.

But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say.

Breaking Down The Key Parts Of Matthew : 34
#1 Therefore Because seeking the kingdom of God and his righteousness is what we are called to give our attention and energy to, not what we will eat or drink or wear tomorrow.
#2 do not worry Many people think that emotions such as worry are involuntary. But they are involuntary only to the point that we do not take every thought captive and stay our minds on Christ . Its true that when one is worrying she cannot just say to herself, Do not worry. But she can reason with herself. This is her divine right as a rational, created image-bearer. Jesus has given us all the logical tools to counter lies and fears with truth, and in so doing we can obey his command to command our emotions.
#3 about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Thinking about tomorrow is wise when it comes to considering how to apply biblical principles so that tomorrow one will hear, Well done, good and faithful servant. Worrying doesnt come from rational thinking. It is a fear that comes from an irrational attack in the thought life. A Christian who does not direct his own thoughts will be subject to satans lies and accusations. Each day will have trouble. This should be where most of our mental energy and focus should be.

As followers of Christ we face the scrutiny of others because of the good things we do and say. The members of the early church had this same experience. They were persecuted for the sake of holiness.
This sentiment of being bold is also shared in Deuteronomy 31:8. “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you he will never leave you… Do not be afraid do not be discouraged.” Moses used these words to encourage and prepare Joshua mentally for the task that was ahead of him.

To Overcome Worry We Must Recognize Our Great Value To God
Look at the birds in the sky: They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Arent you more valuable than they are?
Matthew 6:26
Interpretation Question: In what ways are humans more valuable than other parts of creation?
It must be noticed that Christ doesnt say the birds Father. He says the disciples Father feeds them. Christ then says, Arent you more valuable than they are? Birds are not made in the image of God, nor being recreated in his image . They are not sons and daughters of Godco-heirs with Christ . God made man his chief in creation. In the recreation, which happens at the new birth, he makes us one with Christ and indwells us. We are certainly more valuable than birds, flowers, and grass. How much more will God make sure that we have all our needs? He doesnt promise us our wants. Sometimes we worry because we lack our wants. God promises to provide our needs .
Therefore, a great amount of our worry happens because we dont understand our immense value to God. Romans 8:31-32 says,
What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Indeed, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us allhow will he not also, along with him, freely give us all things?
If God gave his best for ushis Sonhow will he not also provide everything else we need? We are of supreme value. God gave it all for us.
Application Question: How can we grow in understanding our value?
A Prayer To Not Worry About Tomorrow
Dear Father, I admit that I often forget that you are with me. I often forget what youre like. Would you please forgive me for that? I need to get to know you better. I need to get to know your Word and your promises better. Help me to put you first in every area of my life. Help me to live one day at a time. Help me to not worry about tomorrow but instead focus on what youre doing in my life right now. I want to trust in your promise to take care of every one of my needs financial, relational, physical, social, spiritual, and emotional. Help me to trust you more and worry less. I pray in Jesus Name. Amen.
