Gods Plan Of Salvation From The Book Of Romans:

How to be Saved by Jesus Christ? Encouraging Bible Verses about Salvation #ChristianASMR

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Romans 10:13 For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Assurance Of Salvation: How Do I Know Im Saved

As Christians, although weve believed in the Lord Jesus and received Him as our Savior, at times we may wonder, How do I know Im saved? Sometimes we feel were definitely saved at other times, were not so sure. When were tossed back and forth between certainty and uncertainty, its difficult for us to progress in our Christian life.

But we dont have to be unsure. God provides three clear ways for us to have the full assurance of salvation, which well discuss in this post.

Christ: The Center Of Salvation

But we are not expected to just believe and be saved, without any appeal to proof or reason. Certainly faith plays a part in salvation, but there is a difference between blind faith and justified faith. Even Acts 1:3, for instance, observes of Christ, After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive, while in Acts 26:25, Paul states that his Christian beliefs are true and reasonable.

When Paul and Silas said to the jailer, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved , they understand the centrality of Christ in salvation. The word translated as saved is charged with deep theological implications, meaning to save, rescue, deliver to heal to be in right relationship with God, with the implication that the condition before salvation was one of grave danger or distress

Christs death and resurrection offers every one of us an opportunity for salvation. When is the right time to accept His offer? As C.S. Lewis said, Now, today, this moment, is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back to give us that chance. It will not last forever. We must take it or leave it.

Am I Teaching That A Christian Doesnt Struggle With Sin

No! Not at all. We all struggle with sinful thoughts, desires, and habits. I struggle with sin. My only hope is in Jesus Christ. However, there is a difference between struggling with sin and practicing sin. As Christians we make war with sin and we cry out to the Lord for help. Unbelievers are dead in sin and they dont care. Believers want to be more obedient. We are burdened by our struggles. We cling to the cross.

It is even possible for a believer to backslide. However, if God allows that person to remain that way then that is strong evidence that the backslider was never a Christian to begin with. He was a poser that stopped posing. God will bring back His backslid child. God will discipline His child out of love. God will not allow His child to go astray.

24. James 3:2 For we all stumble in many ways. If someone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect individual, able to control the entire body as well.

25. Hebrews 12:5-8 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by Him For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, And He scourges every son whom He receives. It is for discipline that you endure God deals with you as with sons for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

The Bible says there is one way to Heaven. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father but by me.” This one way is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior and follow God’s plans for our life which are laid out in the Bible.

Good works cannot save you. Faith in Jesus alone can save you.

“For by grace you are saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

We first have to realize that God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth .

He also wants us to repent. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance .

He wants us to be baptized, which symbolizes the burial of our past sins and the old man. He wants us to do His works. And He wants us to be saved and live eternally in His Kingdom.

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith, but does not have works? Can faith save him? But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:14-26.

Many Believe That If They Just Accept Jesus As Lord And Savior They Are Saved But Is That The Biblical Definition Of Salvation What Does It Mean To Be Saved

What We Need to Do to Be Saved (Romans 10 Bible Study)

Some religious people ask others, Are you saved?

If the answer is no, the suggested solution might be to recite a short statement: I accept Jesus as my Savior.

Such advice about being saved implies that a simple, albeit sincere, declaration explains both the how and the when of salvation. Yet Jesus was very clear that salvation goes far beyond words: Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who doesthe will of My Father in heaven .

Read the last part of that verse again: he who does the will of My Father. Jesus linked salvation in Gods Kingdom to actions.

According to Jesus Christ, just words alone are not enough. You have to conduct your day-to-day life according to Gods will. And implied in Jesus statement is the understanding that salvation is not complete now, but in the future.

Lets explore deeper the question, What does it mean to be saved?

What Does It Mean To Be Born Again

To be born again means to be cleansed of your sins by water and filled with the Holy Spirit. This is clearly answered in John 3:5-7 when Nicodemus asked Jesus what it means to be board again. This was Jesus reply: Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, You must be born again.

The Holy Spirit Witnesses With Our Spirit

Another way we can be sure were saved is through the Spirit.

God gave us two wonderful gifts: the Bible, which is something outside of us, and His Spirit, who is inside us. Both testify that when we believe in Jesus, were saved eternally.

When we were born again by believing in Jesus, the Spirit came into our spirit to live in us forever.

Romans 8:16 speaks clearly concerning these two spirits:

The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God.

The Holy Spirit witnesses deep within us, in our spirit, that we are truly saved. Even if we doubt this and say, I dont think Im a child of God, the Spirit within us witnesses to confirm that we are.

One reason we may wonder whether were saved may be because we dont know how to experience this witnessing of the Holy Spirit with our spirit. Instead, we may rely on our fluctuating feelings or our doubting mind to assure us were saved. But the key to experiencing this witnessing of the Holy Spirit is to realize that its with our spirit, which is deeper than our emotions or our mind.

Now, lets read 1 Corinthians 12:3:

No one can say, Jesus is Lord! except in the Holy Spirit.

Note 3 on this verse explains how saying Jesus is Lord is crucial:

This indicates that when we say with a proper spirit, Jesus is Lord! we are in the Holy Spirit. Hence, to call on the Lord Jesus is the way to participate in, to enjoy, and to experience the Holy Spirit.

If God has provided a wonderful salvation through Christ as revealed in the Bible, how can anyone be sure that he has received Christ and is the beneficiary of this marvelous grace of God?

In discussing Gods wonderful plan of salvation in Ephesians 2:8-10, the apostle Paul sums it up in three verses, For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this not from yourselves, it is the gift of Godnot by works, so that no one can boast. For we are Gods workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

To Be Saved You Must Recognize That Christ Has Done For You What You Could Never Do For Yourself

Romans 10:6-8: But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows: Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into heaven? , or Who will descend into the abyss? . But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heartthat is, the word of faith which we are preaching.

These are difficult verses and I wont pretend that I completely understand them, even after reading and re-reading numerous commentaries! But Ill try to explain them as best as I can. The opening but shows that Paul is contrasting the righteousness based on the law with the righteousness based on faith. He first cites from Deuteronomy 8:17 & 9:4 and then rather loosely from Deuteronomy 30:12-14, adding his own explanatory comments to link these verses to Christ. His main point is that God has always offered salvation by faith apart from human effort, even under the law.

The problem is that Deuteronomy 30:12-14 seems to say that keeping the law is within the reach of every person. But Paul cites them for an opposite meaning, that salvation has nothing to do with human effort, but rather that God has provided everything so that all we must do is to believe in Christ. How do we explain this?
