Break All Of The Legal Rights Of The Demons
Once someone is saved, fully surrendered to the Lord, and has gone through the rite of water baptism, then they will be ready to go into the actual deliverance process itself. And this will now take us right into the real heart and most important part of this process how those demons were able to get on the inside of that person in the first place.
As we have said in the above introduction to this article, we fully believe in the legal rights theory that so many good deliverance ministers use in their deliverance ministries.
I believe there are reasons for most everything since our God is a God of perfect order and reasoning. And when demons have attached to someone, whether it be on the inside of that person or on the outside of that person, there has to be a specific reason as to why those demons were able to attach to that person in the first place.
And once all of the legal rights of the demons have been properly taken care of and broken before the Lord, then they will have absolutely nothing else left to be able to hold onto, and they will then be much easier to cast out of the person once you start to directly engage with them.

Jesus Casts Out Demons
Dr. Ligon Duncan preaches on Jesus and Demons from Matthew 8:28-34 in part 3 of his series The Miracles of the Kingdom. The following is a lightly edited transcript.
If you have your Bibles, I would invite you to turn with me to Matthew chapter 8. The Lord Jesus Sermon on the Mount is recorded from chapter 5 to chapter 7, giving us the words of life and the way of life. Chapters 8 and 9 of Matthew, miracles, mighty attesting signs of the Lord Jesus Christ, are performed so that the word of life is set side by side with the powerful deeds of Christ, thus attesting to the fact that He is indeed the very Son of God, the Messiah, the Christ, sent from God for the sins of the world
Our Lord and our God, we know that this word is not recorded simply to cause us interest, nor even to give us an accurate account of the deeds of our Lord Jesus Christ, though it does that, and we praise You for it. This word is written for our instruction, for our counsel, for our admonition. So teach us the spiritual truths contained in it, and by the spirit apply it to our hearts. For we ask it in Jesus name. Amen.
Secondly, notice that in the first half of verse 31, it is clear that the demons acknowledge that Christ has the power to cast them out of these two poor men so afflicted. They never attempt a strategy to resist being cast out. They only attempt to mitigate where Jesus is going to send them once he does cast them out. He is sovereign.
We Use The Name Of Jesus
The disciples cast out demons through His name.
Luke 10:17-19: The disciples returned to Jesus and said : And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
The early church used the name of Jesus
Acts 16:18: And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
We as believers are to do the same in the name of Jesus.
, these signs shall follow them that believe In my name shall they cast out devils.

Prayer To God The Father
Father,
In the name of Jesus, I now come before You to take on the demons who are now living and operating in John. Father, these demons have now been in John long enough. He has had enough of their torment and bondage and he is now ready to be set fully free from these foul and evil spirits.
Father, in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, I now ask that You personally anoint me for this battle. Father, in Your Word you have told us that we will have Your power and Your authority to be able to trample over all of the power of the enemy and that nothing shall be able to hurt us.
You have told us in Your Word that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. You have told us in Your Word that we shall cast out demons in Your name. You have told us in Your Word that You are a Man of War and that You can be stirred up to go into battle for us.
Father, I now ask that You stir Yourself up as a Man of War and that You personally take on these demons and drive them right out of this man and right out of his life for good never again to return to bother, harass, or torment him ever again! Father, I now ask that You shine Your holy light into every part of Johns being and every part of Johns life so we can see exactly what these demons have been up to with him so we will know how to fully handle this situation with him.
Father, I ask that You fully protect all of us from any type of vengeful act from any of these demons after You have fully cast all of them out of John.
Analysis Of The Battle Prayer
With the Lords help, I drew up this special type of battle prayer for many of you so that you could throw every possible effective battle strategy against the demons, along with making sure that both you, the person who has the demons in them, and anyone else who may be in the room with you will be fully protected from any possible counterattacks from these demons once you start up the actual deliverance.
This battle prayer came in a little bit longer compared to some of the other ones that we have in our site, but when you are dealing with a nest of demons who have been living on the inside of a person for a certain number of years, you will want to cover all of your bases with them and the Lord, along with wanting to throw everything at them including the kitchen sink.
Notice the following strategies that was in this battle prayer :
1. The first thing you will want to do before you start to directly engage with the demons is to get Gods full protection on you so that neither you, the host, or anyone else who is in the room will be attacked by these demons. In this type of heavier battle prayer, I will have you do the following so that you can get Gods full protection on both you and the host before you start to actually engage with the demons:
b) Ask God to station His battle angels all around you
c) Plead the Blood of Jesus on your body, soul, spirit, and on some of your personal possessions for Gods protection

Driving Out Demons By The Power Of Demons
However, if you are being driven out of your home by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has descended upon you.When a powerful guy with a large arsenal of weapons defends his palace, his belongings are safe.When a greater opponent attacks and defeats him, he removes the armor on which he had relied and divides the treasures among himself and his companions.Anybody who does not stand with me is opposed to me, and anybody who does not assemble with me scatters.When an unclean spirit departs from a person, it roams across desert places in quest of rest, but when it is unable to find any, it declares, I shall return to my house from which I have come. However, upon returning, it discovers that it has been thoroughly cleaned and put back in order.
Using The Name Of Jesus
Its true that every believer has authority to cast out evil spirits, but its also necessary to understand the importance of using the name of Jesus when driving out unclean spirits. I heard of one evangelist who was preaching in an area where their predominate god was Mohammad, and he did a demonstration up on stage he took a woman who clearly had an evil spirit and a man who clearly had a need for physical healing. He said to them that hes going to first try to use the name of Mohammad to cast out the spirit and heal the man, then hell use the name of Jesus and see which one works. He tried it with the name of Mohammad, and as you can guess, nothing happened. But when he used the name of Jesus, the evil spirit departed and the man was healed!
Mark 16:17, And these signs shall follow them that believe In my name shall they cast out devils they shall speak with new tongues.
Notice how Jesus makes it clear that we are to cast out the spirits using His name. Now if we look into the early church, we see Paul using Jesus name to drive an evil spirit out of a woman:
Acts 16:18, And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
Not only did the early church drive out evil spirits with Jesus name, but many were also healed using the name of Jesus:
Acts 4:30, By stretching forth thine hand to heal and that signs and wonders may be done .

The Rite Of Water Baptism
If at all possible, have the person go through the rite of water baptism if they have never done it before. If you can do it at the time you get the person saved, that would be great and that would be our first recommendation. But if by chance you have to do it at a later date, then try and arrange for it to be done before you actually try to do the deliverance.
The reason I say this is because there have been documented cases of demons being completely expelled out of a person once they go through the rite of water baptism. Demons hate the rite of water baptism and there is always the chance the person could receive a full scale deliverance from their demons if you have them go through this rite before you even attempt the actual deliverance.
If all of the demons can be cast out of the person just by going through this holy rite, then you will not have to go through with the rest of the deliverance, and you can then save both yourself and the demonized person from having to go through the intensity of an actual deliverance.

What Does The Bible Say About Demons
The Bible tells us that demons are fallen angels who joined Satan in his rebellion against God and who were defeated and cast out of heaven along with Satan . Demons continue to serve the devil in his attempt to lead the world away from God and into sin. Jesus will ultimately banish Satan and his demons into the eternal fire.

Dry Up The Waters Of The Enemy
Here is another very powerful strategy that you can use against the demons when you are in the last part of the deliverance and you are getting ready to start commanding them to now leave this person in the name of Jesus Christ.
This next strategy on drying up their waters is also going to drive home the point and reinforce the fact to these demons that all of their legal rights have now been fully broken before the Lord and that there is now nothing else left for them to be able to hold onto.
When you start using these types of additional strategies against the demons, this will show them that you know what you are doing, that you know how the real game is played in the spiritual realm, and that you will now be coming directly after them and the inner kingdom they have set up on the inside of this person over the number of years they have been in him.
There are several very interesting verses that will show us that we can also use this additional strategy on drying up the waters of the demons once we start to directly engage with them, telling them that they now have to leave this person in the name of Jesus Christ.
Waters are very important to both God and the demons in the spiritual realm. In reference to the Holy Spirit, Jesus tells us in John 7:38 that out of our heart will flow rivers of living water. And the Word of God itself is compared to water in Ephesians 5:26, where it says that with the washing of water by the word.
Tell Them To Choose Their Friends Very Carefully In This Life
Tell them to look for God to bring in some good, true, God-friends into their lives so they will have other Spirit-filled believers to fellowship with and to share their walk with if they do not have many good God-friends at this time.
When people have demons on the inside of them, sometimes the demons will try and isolate that person over the period of time they are in them so they do not develop many good friendships with other people, especially with other solid Christians.
Also advise them that God is probably going to take out some of the bad and negative people who are still in their lives. If you had them break any ungodly soul ties when you were dealing with their legal rights earlier on, then chances are, God may also want some of those bad people out of their lives for good if that will be at all possible.

Interestingly, the first ones to acknowledge that Jesus was God were the demons which is why Jesus didnt permit them to speak because they often declared You are the Son of God! to which Jesus would silence them. By doing so, Jesus shows that He has all authority over the demons including the Devil. Jesus once conquered the Devils three-fold temptations during the temptation of Christ in the wilderness proving that Jesus has authority over all the demons and even Satan himself. Luke 8:30, 33 Jesus then asked him, What is your name? And he said, Legion, for many demons had entered him. Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned.
