The topic of how or when the world will end is something that is on the mind of a lot of people all over the globe now, and the trending of thissubject grows each time a natural disaster happens, or a war, or an outbreak of disease like the recent Ebola outbreak. Just take a look atall the movies coming out of Hollywood with end of the world themes.
So what is the mainstream secular view as to how the world will end? Well, some believe the world will be brought to an end due to an asteroidsmashing into earth. Some believe the sun, via a massive solar storm could wipe us out. Others believe it could be nuclear war, global warming,the rise of the robot, or even this weird ‘planet x’ theory. There are plenty of theories out there as to how the world will end.And some go even as far as setting specific dates for the world ending.
There are serious threats coming from many different places concerning the future of this world. But are any of them feasible theories as to howthis world will end? They are certainly feasible, but the likelihood of them actually happening is another matter. So can we truly answerthe question which is on the lips of many people around the world? Do we REALLY know how the world is going to end? Or can weonly speculate as to the future of this world?

The Great Flood And The Flying Saucer
Chicago housewife Dorothy Martin claimed to have received a message from planet Clarion in the early 1950s: the world was to end in a great flood before dawn on December 21, 1954. Martin and a group of followers were convinced that a flying saucer would rescue the true believers before the inevitable destruction of Earth. The belief was so strong that some broke completely with their previous lives, quitting their jobs, leaving their spouses, and giving away money and possessions. Social psychologists Leon Festinger, Henry Riecken, and Stanley Schachter infiltrated Martin’s group to study the effects of such convictions and the group’s reactions when the prophesied event did not occur. Their work, When Prophecy Fails, delivers the first instance of Festinger’s noted theory of cognitive dissonance.

Does The Bible Say How The World Will End
The Bible actually says that the earth abides forever, so then how can the Bible also declare the end of all things? You have seen the signs and placards that have sometimes declared The end is near. But does the earth actually end? The end times is more of a reference to the end of the age and not an actual end of the world or earth. It certainly does not mean the end of mankind. Jesus talked about the end of the age coming and that the end times would be like the days of Noah and like Sodom and Gomorrah . That is much like 2 Timothys description of the end of times but not of time itself. It is the end of the time of human self-rule.
Second Timothy 3:1-5 is a vivid description of what the end days will be like: But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
So the old world will end and a new heaven and a new earth will come . That is encouraging for those who are believers in Christ but it ought to be a fearful thing for those who are not believers and are not born-again.

The end of the world will coincide with war and natural disasters, according to prophetic scripture in the Christian Bible. Before the end times and Second Coming of Jesus Christ, many Christians believe the Antichrist will arive to deceive the world during a seven-year period known as the Tribulation.
Signs Of The End Times
Because of this sequence of unfortunate events, fear has affected millions of people in the world. As a result, many speculate that these things as might be the sign of the end of the world.
Now the question is, are we really in the end times? Are all the bad things happening today the signs of the end to come? Did the Bible predict this to happen? And should we fear all these major catastrophic occurrences afflicting the world today?

The Bible The Coronavirus And End Times
With the onset of the worldwide pandemic of the coronavirus, I have found myself in several discussions regarding what this pandemic might have to do with the Bible and End Times. Specifically, some preachers are pointing to the mentions of pestilence and plagues in the book of Revelation as biblical evidence that the end is near. It is always a good thing when people search the scriptures for understanding to present circumstances, and even though the subject of end times can be a quite controversial subject among Bible students, it is worth taking a look at the scripture to gain an understanding of the ways of God and what He has told us in His word.
Here are a few of the questions I have been asked lately.
Are We Living In The Last Days
There is no doubt whatsoever, that the signs of the end of the world in the Bible are pointing to our generation. Anyone can see thegreat moral degeneration that has happened over the past 50+ years. The moral depravation of this world has reached such a point thatwe are now like Sodom and Gomorrha just before God destroyed that city with fire … 2 Peter 2:6 …’And turning the cities of Sodomand Gomorrha into ashes, condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly.’
So is the world goingto end in the next couple of years? We cannot set dates, but from all the signs, we can know that the second coming is ‘at the door’.There are still some things yet to happen that end time prophecy reveals, like the mark ofthe beast being enforced. And once the mark of the beast is enforced, we will know that we are in the VERY last days, right at the end of the world.But please do not wait until that happens to get ready. We need to get ready now and live for Christ Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven every day.
Don’t forget, none of us know when OUR last day will be. So we need to beready everyday. Satan’s deceptions and temptations are going to get stronger and stronger. So please seek the truth of God’s Word in theBible and start living for Christ Jesus.

The final sign Jesus gave His disciples was a positive one, And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come . Not all the news out there is bad news. In spite of rising persecution, Christianity is proving resilient as Jesus continues to build His church . Missionaries are being sent out from nations far and wide to provide a witness to all nations and all peoples. The International Mission Board has identified 3,203 remaining people groups in the world that have not heard of the gospel of Jesus. We know who they are and where they live. As missionaries continue to go and reach the unreached, Jesus final prediction of what must happen before the end of the world is quickly becoming a reality.
How close is the end of the world? A lot closer than we might think. Just because 2000 years have passed since Jesus prophecy, do not allow that to lull us into a false sense of complacency. Jesus told us that although his coming would be like a thief in the night , there are several signs to look for. These signs are being fulfilled before our eyes. Many Repeat Myths About Revelation
If there was a prize for the most misunderstood source for bad predictions, it would go to the Book of Revelation. It may be the Bibles ultimate crossover no other books imagery and language has so penetrated popular culture.
Even people who have never read the Bible are familiar with its references: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Red Dragon, 666 and the seven bowls of plague.
Revelation is filled with such contagious imagery that one theologian who has studied its text calls it a multimedia book whose popular images operate like an infectious disease.
They break off from the larger text and circulate like little viruses in our culture that hook on to other things and thats when they really take off and spread, says Timothy Beal, author of The Book of Revelation: A Biography.
Beal says many people quoting Revelation get the meaning and the symbolism wrong.
Almost none of the people talking about Revelation have really sat down and read it, he says. Many people, for example, believe that the Rapture when its believed that Jesus returns at the end of the age and all Christians, dead and alive, will rise up in the air to meet him is in Revelation.
Not true, says Beal.
There is no explicit mention of the Rapture in Revelation. There are references to the concept in scriptures like 1 Corinthians 15:52, which says, For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
Nope, Beal says.

What Are The Signs Of The End Of The World According To Bible
The Bible says that at the end of time Jesus will come, the nations will be judged and whoever is saved will live with Him in Heaven forever . Believers must be prepared because it can happen at any time. Jesus spoke of the signs of the end times that we can see.
The second coming of Jesus and the end of the world is a topic much talked about in the Bible. As it is so widespread among other things, it is difficult to organize and make sense of it all. But we can be certain about what will happen.
Jesus will come
Acts 1:11 says that Jesus will return in physical form in the same way that He ascended to Heaven after being resurrected. That day He will take believers to live with Him in Heaven .
The dead will be raised and the people will be judged. Satan will be destroyed and the wicked who rejected Christ will go to Hell but those who love Jesus will have eternal life, without sadness or death .
When the end comes, the Earth on which we now live will be destroyed and all things will be united in Christ . So, our new perfect home will be in Heaven.

What are the signs of the end times?
No one knows when the end will come, but the Bible gives us some signs to know when it is near. The Bible has an entire book dedicated to the events of recent times but Jesus summarized the signs in Matthew 24 . According to this chapter of the Bible:

Why Invoking Doomsday Scenarios Can Be Harmful
Invoking end-times biblical passages may actually bolster some peoples faith by giving meaning to events that seem cruel and arbitrary.
But people who invoke the terrifying imagery of Revelation in connection with COVID-19 can do more than get scripture wrong. They can damage others psychological health, Beal says.
I had one student who was reading Revelation outside on the waterfront and she fell asleep and woke up in the middle of a thunderstorm. She had an absolute panic attack because she felt like she was in the book, says Beal, a religion professor at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio.
Doomsday predictions from the Bible can also lead to another danger doing nothing, Beal says. He believes people who are seized with panic over something like Covid-19 may ignore other chronic issues threatening humanitys survival, such as climate change.
It can lead to a call to inaction, Beal says about misinterpretations of Revelation. That is to say, people will say this is all happening because of Gods plan and its going to get worse before it gets better so theres nothing we can do about it because its Gods will.
But that probably wont stop people from invoking Revelation when a pandemic hits. For centuries its been the go-to book for doomsday prophets warning about the spread of end-times plagues and bizarre weather patterns.
The book of Revelation is not a book about predictions but a book of consolation, Lehner says.

- 2020: Vincent Carthane predicts that some form of heavenly encounter will occur during the year 2020. He links this date with the Bible and other Christian symbols:
- America started in the Jamestown VA settlement, named after King James. He became king over much of the world in the year 1603 CE. If one goes to Matthew 16:03, one sees a reference to discerning the signs of the times.

The Love Of Most Will Grow Cold
Because the end of the world is such a momentous event, Jesus gave His disciples several signs to look for to mark its arrival. The fourth indication Jesus gave in Matthew 24 is, Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. Like the second sign , this one is difficult to gauge because there is not a way to scientifically gauge how hot or cold our love is, but we can sense an increase in wickedness all around us. Look at where our morals are as a nation. Look at our views on ethics, morality, and sexuality. Were living in a new moral age, one that is increasingly wicked. Because of that, the love even of Christians has grown cold. Look at the lifeless, empty, dying churches that dot the landscape. Jesus forewarned that this would be a sign of the coming of the end of the world.
