God was glorified when Christ accepted us and He is glorified when we accept one another. Also, there is a textual variant where the NASB reads us, but most scholars prefer you . If you are filled with shame and feel unworthy to receive Gods love, its time to hand all your sins and regrets over to God. If men were righteous, then there would be no need for the blood of Christ. However, there are none who are righteous. All have fallen short of Gods standard. Those who trust in their righteousness dont need the righteousness of Christ. Christ came to call sinners. Jesus came to call those who are conscious of their sins and those who see their need for a Savior. Through the blood of Christ sinners are saved and are set free.

How amazing is our God! That He would come down in the form of man to live the life that we couldnt and die the death that we deserve. Jesus satisfied the requirements of the Father and He took our place on the cross. He died, He was buried, and He was resurrected for our sins.

The gospel becomes so real and intimate when you realize that Jesus didnt just come to save us. He came specifically to save you. He knows you by name and He came to save you. Believe His death, burial, and resurrection on your behalf. Believe that all your sins have been atoned for. Believe that He has taken away your hell.

Is This Phrase In The Bible

The phrase ask Jesus into your heart is not in the Bible. And, unlike some concepts we dont find passages that indirectly point to it, either.

The closest we might come is this passage in Revelation 3:20, Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

We may first note that this verse does not say anything about the heart. Nor does it say anything about a person asking Jesus for something instead, Jesus knocks, and the person opens the door.

Secondly, we may note the context of the verse. In it, Jesus is speaking to the church of Laodicea, which He accuses of being lukewarm . Thus, this passage doesnt appear to be talking about salvation at all, as it is addressed to the church.

Another potential passage might be Ephesians 3:16-17, I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

Once again, however, this passage is not referring to a salvation message or asking something of Christ. It is addressed to the believers as Paul prays for them to grow in relationship with Him.
