What Part Of The Bible Talks About Love

Because God Loves Us So Much His Love Should Overflow From Us Into Others

Bible Study on Love Part 2 | Study the Bible with Me

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Gods love should not stop with Him loving you, it should overflow into the lives of the people around you. This is the natural result of constantly experiencing Gods loving presence in the form of the Holy Spirit.

When you allow Gods love to grow in you, it will be like a plant that produces fruit. One of the fruits of Gods love is your increasing inclination and ability to love others. His Spirit also allows you to love with a love greater than you could have on your own.

Dont keep the love of God to yourself allow Him to use you to show His love to others.

Love Triumphs Over Lies

In the book of Genesis, the love story of Jacob and Rachel is one of the most captivating episodes in the Bible. It is the story of love triumphing over lies. Jacob‘s father Isaacwanted his son to marry from among his own people, so he sent Jacob to find a wife among the daughters of his uncle Laban. There Jacob found Rachel, Laban’s younger daughter, tending sheep. Jacob kissed Rachel and fell deeply in love with her.

Jacob agreed to work for Laban seven years to earn Rachel’s hand in marriage. But on their wedding night, Laban deceived Jacob by substituting Leah, his older daughter. In the darkness, Jacob thought Leah was Rachel.

The next morning, Jacob discovered he had been tricked. Laban’s excuse was that it was not their custom to marry off the younger daughter before the older one. Jacob then married Rachel and worked for Laban another seven years for her.

He loved her so much that those seven years seemed like only a few days:

Bible Verses About Gods Unconditional Love

There is nothing that we can do to earn Gods love. He simply loves us as a Great Father loves His children.

Rest in the fact that He loves you and has loved you before the foundation of the world! Dont worry, no matter who you are or what youve done, God loves you!

Romans 5:7-8 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Grace enables us to become the people we were meant to be. Many of us are tired of trying to live up to other peoples expectations. It is a relief to discover that God loves us just as we are. Rob Rufus

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

I John 4:9-10 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

God Is Love So Our Love For Others Points Them To Him

God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and His love is brought to full expression in us.

When we love each other, it gives people a glimpse of God because God is love. It can be difficult for people to understand God, but when we love others in His name, they experience a taste of His love.

Sadly, sometimes Christians are known more for judgment than for love. If you want to help other people know who God is, you can share the message of Gods love and then help them experience it through your love for them.

But we know love can sometimes be complicated.

I: Gods Love Is Incredible Infinite And Unfailing

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Can you imagine being loved like this? It would change your life. The truth is this is an accurate description of Gods love for you.

Though this passage is often read at weddings, humans cannot love perfectly as God does because we are imperfect. But it makes sense that people strive to have their love for one another reflect these qualities.

Everyone needs this type of love, but if you expect it from another person, you will be let down. God is the only one who can love you perfectly. And when you have a relationship with God and experience His love, it empowers you to love others the way God loves you.

Jesus Love Is An Example Of What It Means To Sacrifice And Serve Others Out Of Love

What Does The Bible Say About Self Love?

Jesus knew that the Father had given Him authority over everything and that He had come from God and would return to God. So He got up from the table, took off His robe, wrapped a towel around His waist, and poured water into a basin. Then He began to wash the disciples feet, drying them with the towel He had around Him. … So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.

On His last night with His disciples before He was crucified, Jesus emphasized loving others. He demonstrated what loving others looks like by washing His disciples feet.

Washing someones dirty feet may seem like a gross enough task today, but during that day, people wore sandals and walked most places. So their feet were much, much dirtier. Washing feet was usually the job of a lowly servant.

Later, one of Jesus final commands to His disciples was to love each other as He had loved them.

This passage begins by telling us Jesus knew He had all of Gods authority and power and would soon return to God in heaven. But He showed His disciples He loved them by stepping down from His position of power to take on the role of a lowly servant.

Loving others often requires being willing to step down from your position of power and serve.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil

6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth

7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail whether there are tongues, they will cease whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three but the greatest of these is love.

How To Find Love Made Just For You

Bible Quotes John 3 15. QuotesGram

God is not like an entertainer who shouts to an audience, I love you! He loves you individually. He knows everything there is to know about you and understands you better than you understand yourself. His love is custom-made for you alone.

Imagine your heart is like a lock. Only one key fits it perfectly. That key is God’s love for you. His love for you doesn’t fit anyone else and his love for them doesn’t fit you. God doesn’t have a master key of love that fits everyone. He has an individual, special love for every single person.

What’s more, because God created you, he knows exactly what you need. You may think you know yourself, but only he knows best. In heaven, we will learn that God always made the right decision for each of us based on love, no matter how painful or disappointing it seemed at the time.

No other person can ever know you as God does. That’s why no other person can love you as he can.

How God Demonstrates His Love

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus tells us that love is laying down ones life for your friends. But God took it a step further. He sent Christ to die for us even when we were lost in our own sin and opposed to Him. When Jesus tells us to love our enemies , He isnt asking us to do anything He wasnt willing to do Himself.

Gods readiness to die for a world full of antagonists and adversaries illustrates His unwavering and captivating love.

God Chose To Adopt You Because He Loves You

God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.

You can have a child by accident, but you cannot adopt a child by accident. When you adopt a child, you choose to love, cherish and care for that child for life. When God adopts you, its not an accident. He chooses to love, cherish and care for you forever. He does it because He loves you and wants an eternal relationship with you.

God loves His children as a proud Father. If you have begun a relationship with Him, you are Gods child and He delights in you.

Take a minute to think about how the God of the entire universe loves you personally and chose you to be His child.

One Bible verse will probably go down as the undisputed heavyweight scripture champion of the world.

Long before YouTube, memes, or even email, John 3:16 went viral at sporting events.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

I sometimes wonder if John knew when he penned that iconic verse that he had a collection of words that would transform nations and generations.

The verse is quite simple yet extremely profound.

We can never go wrong when discussing the love of God.

In this post, I am going to share as many scriptures on love as possible. The hope is that by examining the truth of Gods undying love, we can bask in the glow found in the hope and strength He gives us, and build a solid foundation for our relationship with Christ.

And hope does not put us to shame, because Gods love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.Romans 5:5
