God Gives Us The Holy Spirit Because He Wants Us To Be Filled With His Love

#UploadGodLaws: Does The Bible Say God Loves Everybody Or Do You?

And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.

Have you ever had someone in your life you loved so much that you wanted to be with them all the time? God feels that way about you. Not only does God love you and want a relationship with you, but He wants to be present in every moment of your life.

When you begin a relationship with God, the Holy Spirit comes into your life. He is with you through the good and the bad. You can choose to ignore the Holy Spirits influence, but He will never leave you. He is always waiting for you to turn back and seek His comfort, wisdom and guidance.

The Holy Spirit can help you experience and have a deeper understanding of Gods love for you. His presence in your life means you are never on your own.

Does It Really Say God Loves Everyone In The Bible

If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, He lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and He in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world, we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

1 John 4:15-18

I put a whole section of verses in here because love isnt just about 1 person. Love is about sharing with others, and that is what this verse is about.

This verse is speaking dead on about Gods love for everyone. We can also go back to John 3:16 and say God loved the world so much that he gave his son.

We question Gods love for everyone because we dont feel worthy. Our sin makes us feel dirty, unloved, and weak. So like Adam in the garden, we hide in shame.

Unfortunately, this shame stops us from seeing the true glory and love of God, and since were in hiding, we cant reflect either.

Sharing Gods Love With Others

We are told to share the love of God with others. God wants us to share His love with others through ministering to their spiritual and physical needs. Beloved, lets love one another for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

Jesus final command was, Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Jesus wants us to share His good news of salvation with others, so that they too may experience His love.

We need to be intentional about fulfilling this command. We should be praying for and sharing our faith with our family, our neighbors, our friends, and our colleagues. We should be praying for, giving to, and engaging in the work of missions around the world especially concentrating on those parts of the world where only a tiny percentage even know who Jesus Christ is, much less believe in Him. Everyone deserves to hear the message of Gods great love at least once in their lifetime.

121. 1 Thessalonians 2:8 so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.

122. Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, Your God reigns!

Gods Particular Effective Selecting Love Toward His Elect People

The elect may be the entire nation of Israel or the church as a body or individuals. In each case, God sets his affection on his chosen ones in a way he doesnt set his affection on others.

The striking thing about passages like Deuteronomy 7:78 is when Israel is contrasted with other nations, the distinguishing feature includes nothing of personal or national merit its nothing other than the love of God. Gods love is directed toward Israel in a way its not directed toward other nations.

The fourth way of speaking of Gods love is unlike the previous three. And this discriminating feature of Gods love surfaces frequently. I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated, God declares . Allow all the room you like for the Semitic nature of this contrast, observing the absolute form can be a way of articulating absolute preference, and yet Gods love in such passages is peculiarly directed toward the elect.

Similarly, in the New Testament we read Christ loved the church . Repeatedly the New Testament tells us that Gods love is directed toward those who constitute the church.

Lets find out what the Bible really says about the most powerful love in the universe.

Love is the focus of countless stories. The greatest story of all time is Gods overwhelming, unrelenting, astonishing love for His people. Understanding Gods love is staggering when we begin to comprehend His love that surpasses knowledge, we begin to be filled with all the fulness of God.

Many of us have a hard time understanding the love of God. I personally have struggled with understanding His great love for me. I used to live like His love was dependent on my performance on my walk of faith, which is idolatry. My mindset was, I have to do something to make God love me more.

When I sin that sin that I struggle with or when I dont pray or read Scripture, I have to make up for it by doing something, which is a lie from Satan.

If you are a Christian, I want you to understand that you are loved. His love for you is not based upon your performance.

Its based upon the perfect merit of Jesus Christ. You dont have to move at all, you are loved by God. You dont have to be big. You dont have to be the next John MacArthur. God loves you and dont you ever forget that.

Dont you dare think for a second that you can love anyone more than God loves you. These Scriptures include translations from the NASB, NLT, NKJV, ESV, KJV, NIV, and more.

Does God Love Everyone The Same

One of the most common theological questions Ive been asked as a pastor and professor goes something like this: Does God love everybody in the same way? In other words, did he love Nero to the same degree he loves Billy Graham? Does he love those who reject him the same he loves his redeemed children? Does God hate the sin, but love the sinner?

Too often Ive heard simplistic answers to this complex question. Historically, one theological camp has answered with an unqualified yes, while some in another offer an unqualified no. Yet truth often lies in the details. What is the meaning of world? Is John 3:16 the lens through which every other verse must be read?

The most careful, nuanced, and robustly biblical answer Ive seen appears in Don Carsons book The Difficult Doctrine of the Love of God . Carson identifies five different ways Scripture speaks of Gods love.

Does God Love Everyone Yes And No

Posted on October 30, 2019 by knoxepc

No doubt you read the question in the headline there and thought that the obvious, clear answer was a resounding YES! Of course God loves everyone! If theres one characteristic of the Almighty that is repeated over and over in the church and the world, it is that God is love. We see signs outside of churches proclaiming God loves you! We see billboards promising that. Weve heard Christians and pastors issue such blanket statements to anyone within earshot that God loves them.

But let us pause for a minute. Let us take this question very seriously, because it is at the root of the relationship between both God and the elect and God and the unbeliever. Does God actually, truly love everyone?

The easy answer is yes. The true answer is a far more complicated yes and no.

Lets tackle this question by going to a few commonly quoted verses about the person of God. 1 John 4:8 very clearly states that God is love. It is one of his most defining characteristics . John 3:16 assures us that, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Then theres Romans 5:8, which says, God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Is It Biblical To Say God Loves Everyone

In a video that will no doubt foster much discussion, theologians discuss the validity of Christians telling everyone whether Christian or non-Christian that God loves them. Is it actually true that God loves everyone or only those who are His children? Theologian and Pastor R.C. Sproul grapples with this question and provides an interesting answer in the following video.

Sproul contends that when we read about the love of God in Scripture, distinctions have to be made.

He says that there is three type of divine love that we find in Scripture. First, is Gods benevolent love, which speaks of Gods attitude of kindness or His benevolent will that falls on everyone. Second is Gods beneficent love, which is not just His attitude of kindness but His practical kindness to all humanity. An example of this is the act of God in providing sun and rain for the flourishing of all cultures . 3) Third is Gods complacent love, but do not confuse the word complacency with being careless or flippant. Theologically, this concept means Gods special love toward His people.

We must, according to Sproul, be careful about speaking of Gods love universally when we really mean to speak of His unique and special love toward His children. Watch the whole video and think through if you agree or disagree with Sprouls reasoning.

God Is Loving He Does Not Want To Harm You But To Show You Compassion

Though He brings grief, He also shows compassion because of the greatness of His unfailing love. For He does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow.

When you experience difficult things or see suffering in the world, you may be tempted to think God dislikes you or that He enjoys seeing some people suffer. This is not true. God created a beautiful, perfect world, but people brought imperfection into it.

God is hurt when He sees how much people suffer. He has allowed people to make a mess of the world for a period of time, but He will not leave it that way forever. God will make things right again because He is compassionate and loving.

Does God Really Love Me

Pray for a greater understanding of the love of God. Sometimes it is so hard to grasp His love for us especially when we look into the mirror and see all of our failures. Without knowing how much God loves you, you are going to feel so miserable.

I was praying one night and I was thinking to myself that God wants me to do more, no! The whole time that I was praying I didnt understand that all God wanted for me was to just understand His great love for me. I dont have to move a muscle I am loved.

Nothing Can Separate Us From The Love Of God

God is not mad at you. Whenever you think that you have done something to separate yourself from Gods love or its too late to get right with God or you need to be more to be loved of God, remember that nothing can separate Gods love for you. Always remember that Gods love never ends.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or trouble, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? . . . But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Being sons and daughters of God involves suffering with Christ. We inevitably encounter the forces of darkness. Sometimes this can be spiritual forces of evil that bring sickness or death or calamity. And sometimes it can be people, operating under the influence of demonic spirits, that will persecute those who are Christ-followers. We have seen believers persecuted for their faith around the world, and now we are beginning to experience it in our own country.

When we pass through seasons of suffering, Christ is our companion. Nothing no person, no circumstance, no demonic force can separate us from Gods love. Gods love is sovereignly triumphant over anything that might attempt to derail us.

Because God Loves Us So Much His Love Should Overflow From Us Into Others

When you allow Gods love to grow in you, it will be like a plant that produces fruit. One of the fruits of Gods love is your increasing inclination and ability to love others. His Spirit also allows you to love with a love greater than you could have on your own.

Experiencing Gods Love Bible Verses

Paul prayed an amazing intercessory prayer that tells us how to experience Gods love:

I bend my knees before the Father, . . . that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner self, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend . . . what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to all the fullness of God.

The first step in experiencing Gods love is being strengthened with power through His Spirit in our inner self. This Holy Spirit empowerment happens when we spend quality time reading, meditating on, and following His Word, when we spend quality time in prayer and praise, and when we join other believers for mutual encouragement, worship, and receiving the teaching of Gods Word.

The next step in experiencing Gods love is for Christ to dwell in our hearts through faith. Now, many people refer to receiving Christ as Savior as asking Christ into your heart. But Paul is praying for Christians here, within whom the Spirit of God is already dwelling. He means an experiential dwelling Christ feels at home in our hearts when we yield to Him, allowing Him to control our spirits, our emotions, our will.

134. 1 Corinthians 13:7 Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits.
