Tenth Plague: Death Of Firstborn
The final plague was extremely severe that made Pharaoh to let Israel depart from Egypt. The LORD moved through Egypt and all the firstborn of man and animals were dead. But in the land of Goshen no one died. The LORD showed His power to Pharaoh.
Pharaohs son who was supposed to inherit the thorn also died and this compelled him to leave the Hebrews.

Moses Was Buried By God
God was with Moses to the very end, burying him in secret. Moses lived to be 120 years old and was completely healthy. his eyes were not weak, nor his strength gone. The people grieved 30 days for him until God put a stop to it, instructing Joshua to take the leadership position.
And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said. He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is.
Its speculated that God secretly buried Moses body so the Israelites couldnt make a shrine to it, worshiping it as an idol. That may be true, or it might be God burying his friend. Only God knows.

Moses Was A Songwriter
Or, more accurately, he was a musical collaborator. After the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea on dry land, the waters closed up, drowning the mighty Egyptian army. To celebrate their deliverance, God composed a song and instructed Moses to write it down and teach it to the congregation. It became known as The Song of Moses .
Moses Receives The 10 Commandments
During the time of testing in this wilderness experience, the first thing God wanted to see was whether or not His people would keep His laws and commandments. So God then proceeds to lay out all of the laws that He wants the Israelites to abide by.
In the third month after being delivered from Egypt, God tells Moses that He will literally come down Himself onto Mount Sinai in the presence of all of His people.
God then descends upon Mount Sinai in fire. The smoke was like the smoke of a furnace the way it was ascending off of the mountain. Just imagine such an event that God the Father Himself is descending from His throne in heaven to visit these people with His manifest presence!
God only calls Moses to come to the top of the mountain to meet and talk with Him. No one else was allowed to go up. God then proceeds to tell Moses what the basic 10 commandments are going to be. In addition to the 10 commandments were other specific laws and ways that He wanted the children of Israel to abide by. Moses then comes back down to deliver all of this to the Israelites.
Shortly after this first event, God then calls Moses back to the mountaintop once again. Moses stays on the top of the mountaintop this time with God for forty days and forty nights. The Bible says that the sight of the Lord at the top of the mountaintop was like a consuming fire.

The Tale Of The Basket
The story of the infant Moses being set adrift in a basket bears remarkable similarities to an old Babylonian myth about a great King called Sargon who was discovered as a baby in a basket in a river.
Between 600 and 300 BCE, Jewish scribes in Jerusalem set out to record all the old tales of their people, handed down from generation to generation. What if the scribes had wanted to add a bit of spice to their tales to make them more interesting? Could they have used the myth of Sargon and made up the tale of Moses? It’s certainly possible as we know the Jews were captured by the Babylonians in 587 BCE and held in exile in Babylon for some time. They could have picked up the Sargon legend there.
Egyptologist Jim Hoffmeier studied the original Hebrew text. He found that key words in the story – bulrushes, papyrus, Nile, riverbank – were all ancient Egyptian words, and not Babylonian.
But what about the name ‘Moses’? It is an Egyptian name meaning ‘One who is born’. It uses the same root as ‘Ramses’. It’s hard to believe that a Hebrew scribe, one thousand years later, could have come up with a story using authentic Egyptian words.
Well actually there are many stories of babies being put in baskets and exposed or put in water. This was an ancient way of putting a child out to the fate of the gods. Today people put babies in baskets and put them on church doorsteps.

Moses Was A Courageous Leader
To overcome Moses fear, God recruited his brother Aaron to assist, promising to help them both. Moses rose to the challenge. Through the long story of the 10 plagues and the Pharaohs opposition he led the Israelites out of Egypt.
When trapped between the Pharaohwhod changed his mind and pursued the newly freed slavesand the Red Sea, Moses told the people, Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today .
He also prophesied, The Egyptians you see today you will never see again , and he was right. Moses led them through the Red Sea on dry ground by the power of the God. That was just the beginning of Moses courageous leadership.

Moses Was An Excellent Representative For God
The Bible says that we are to be ambassadors for Christ. We are His representatives.
One of the most amazing things about the story of Moses is that Moses stayed true, loyal, and faithful to God the Father during the entire 40 year journey in the wilderness.
The Bible says that the Israelites were constantly complaining, moaning, and bellyaching about their lot. Not enough food, not enough water, not enough this, not enough that.
The Bible says they lacked for nothing. God made sure they had enough manna raining down from heaven on a daily basis to keep them properly fed.
They also had no problems with God providing adequate shelter and protection for them. Still this was not enough.
And remember, every one of the Israelite men 20 years and older did not make it into the Promised Land due to their lack of faith in the Lord and failing to follow Him fully.
Thus Moses was constantly surrounded by negativity and pessimism with all of these people surrounding him.
And yet Moses never got tired of talking about God and making sure that all of Gods laws and commandments were enforced among the people.
Negativity and pessimism can be contagious, but it never affected Moses.
He stayed true, loyal, and faithful to the Lord during these trying times, and he never once strayed from God as His loyal representative.
Moses should serve as a powerful role model for any Christian who finds himself in an environment of negativity and pessimism either at home or in the workplace.
Personal Relationship With God
As I have stated numerous times in many of my other articles, the #1 thing God wants to do with each one of us is to establish a close, intimate, personal relationship.
Moses definitely accomplished this with God the Father! The Bible may have given Moses two of the finest and highest compliments that any person could ever hope to receive from God Himself.
Here are the two verses giving Moses these two incredible compliments direct from the Lord Himself:
- So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.
- But since then there has not arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face.
The second verse is one of the last verses that are at the end of this mans story. It is a very fitting statement and compliment in which to end his story in God.
These verses are obviously referring to Moses face-to-face encounters with God in the burning bush and on top of Mount Sinai when he received the 10 commandments from God the Father.
However, the thing to really grab a hold of is that even though God initiated making this kind of direct contact with Moses, Moses entered in and was not afraid to meet God face-to-face and one-on-one!
The Bible says that when God first manifested His presence up on top of Mount Sinai, all of the other Israelites were scared to death of God.
Then they said to Moses, You speak with us, and we will hear but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
Look at these two things as a 1-2 punch.

Evidence For The Ten Plagues And The Exodus
Epidemiologist Dr John Marr believes most of the ten plagues could have been caused by polluted water in the Nile poisoning fish and setting off a tragic chain of events. Meanwhile, Professor Costas Synolakis, a leading tsunami expert, believes a massive volcanic eruption on the Greek island of Santorini in 1600BCE could have generated a giant tidal wave that struck the Nile Delta. This incredibly powerful wave could be linked to the parting of a ‘reed sea’ in the delta that could explain how the story of the ‘Red Sea’ parting into two walls of water was written centuries later.
Moses Smacked The Rock For Water
After the Israelites left Egypt Moses led them through the desert to the shore of the Red Sea. The people looked straight ahead and saw only water. They turned around and saw Pharaohâs army charging across the desert. âWe are going to die!â they cried. âDonât be afraid! The Lord will fight for you!â Moses said. âBe calm and watch what God will do.â Moses raised his staff toward the sea.
Suddenly the wind blew and the water piled up into huge walls, leaving a dry path through the center of the Red Sea. The people walked to the other side on the dry ground God provided. Pharaohâs chariots and soldiers raced after the people. When the entire army was in the middle of the sea, God made the walls of water crash in on them.
The sea swallowed the Egyptian army, the chariots, and the horses. But Godâs people were safe on the other side. Then they traveled through the wilderness toward Mount Sinai. Passing onward, they wanted water and food and forgetting the great things God had already done for them, they began to murmur. At a place called Marah, they found the water too bitter to drink.
So they grumbled, saying to Moses, What shall we drink? He asked God who showed him a tree, which, when cast into the water, made it sweet. Next, the people murmured for food, and God sent them manna, which they gathered every day except the Sabbath but with all Gods care and kindness, the Israelites continued to grumble whenever any difficulty arose.

The Exodus: Six Hundred Horses
When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, the mind of Pharaoh and his servants was changed toward the people, and they said, “What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?” So he made ready his chariot and took his army with him, and took six hundred chosen chariots and all the other chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them.
Exodus 14:5-7
According to the Bible, as the Hebrews left Egypt, Pharaoh changed his mind and sent 600 chariots to chase the runaway slaves. Could 600 be a biblical exaggeration?
In 1997, on the site of the city of Ramses II, German archeologists unearthed the foundations of an ancient stable. By the end of the dig, they had found enough stables for at least 500 horses and chariots.
Moses Was A Member Of Egyptian Royalty
Moses wasnt born into a royal familybut shortly after his birth, he was adopted by Pharaohs daughter, and he was raised as a member of Pharaohs household . This position of honor likely came with a royal education. In the Book of Acts, Stephen, the first Christian martyr, asserted that Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action .

Moses Was A Prophet The Greatest In The Old Testament
God appointed Moses to speak for him, first to Pharaoh and then to the Israelites. He spoke with Gods authority, and he taught the Israelites what God desired, most notably by delivering them the famous Ten Commandments and allegedly writing the Pentateuch.
Of all the prophets, Moses was the only one who regularly met with God face-to-face.The Pentateuch closes by remarking on how no other prophet in the Old Testament came close to Moses legacy:
Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, who did all those signs and wonders the Lord sent him to do in Egyptto Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land. For no one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel. Deuteronomy 34:1012
Since this part comes after the death of Moses, we can assume a scribe wrote this, and that Moses wasnt just declaring Im the best! before signing off.

Exodus Story Of Moses
The Exodus story in the bible is primary a mixture two stories.
The first event described in Exodus is the story of Moses civilizing and re-establishing the Laws of Yahweh for the Caucasian of Europe 4,000 years ago.
All non-blacks were made on the island of Patmos 6,000 years ago. They were lead into the promised land of North Africa and the Middle East at that time. They started to bring discord to the peaceful community and the King at the time expelled them to the Caucus Mountains of Europe. It was here that they were roped in and incarcerated in what was known at the time to be a harsh place to live. Furthermore, they began to degenerate during this time period as they stopped following the laws established for them by Yahweh their maker.
The Caucasian remained in a deteriorating condition in the Caucus mountains for 2,000 years. The reason for their drastic deterioration was due to neglecting aspects of moral character. Their savior was born 4,000 years ago and his name was Moses. It was Moses mission to bring the Caucasian back into civilization so that they could fulfill their destiny and rule the earth.
Moses meet the Caucasian in a very poor condition. The smartest of them were in the condition similar to modern depictions of the club carrying caveman. They could only make animal sounds before Moses taught them language. The worst of them had degenerated past the point of rehabilitation and had become the ape species that we see today.
Moses Was Close With God
The job God called Moses to do was full of difficulties and challenges. Moses never hid his emotions and questions from God. They spent 40 days together on top of Mount Sinai and God gave Moses the two tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.
Meanwhile, the people got tired of waiting for Moses, made an idol, and started worshiping it. This made God angry, and He offered to kill them all, making Moses into a great nation instead. But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God.God heard Moses and didnt act on His emotions.
In response to Moses request to see Gods glory, he saw parts of God no one ever had before. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin .
For 40 years Moses led the Israelites, and God kept His promise to always be with him. Even when Moses messed up, due to his anger, which disallowed him from entering the promised land. The Bible says Moses whom the LORD knew face to face.
