What Does The Bible Say About Animals In Heaven

Can Animals Be Saved From Sin

What Does Scripture Say About Our Pets Being in Heaven?

A second objection to the idea that animals go to heaven, is the thought that animals cant be saved from sin, because they cant make a moral choice to believe in Jesus Christ. The Bible however says nowhere that animals are guilty of sin. Man is guilty of sin, because Adam and Eve disobeyed God and allowed the knowledge of good and evil to enter their hearts and minds, through the eating of the forbidden fruit, offered by satan .

In Your Intimate Friendship With God He Can Say Things That Arent Written In The Bible But That Are However In Line With The Bible

Moses knew this wonderful relationship with God:

The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.

Jesus Christ also called us His friends, if we obey Him and remain in His words and His love for one another . So there are truths that arent written in the Bible not because they are not biblical, but simply because God is too big to be contained in one single book, and His wisdom exceeds whatever can be written. If we have a truly intimate relationship with God, as our Father and Friend, we can also ask Him personally about certain matters, like for example: do pets go to heaven?

We Dont Know Why Our Pets Die When They Do

Death comes for all of us in a time and manner thats mostly unexpected. Nellie was, as far as we could tell, a healthy little dog. She seemed to go peacefully in her sleep. Ive lost other pets in much more traumatic ways. When my daughter looked at me and asked, Why did she have to die now? I simply held her and said, I dont know.

When we love someone, it always seems our time with them was too short. I encouraged her that our family loved Nellie well, and she loved us in like measure. I also reminded her that we need not fear losing those we love instead, we should love them as well as were able while theyre with us.

Are There Animals In Heaven

Losing a pet can be difficult. My neighbor recently lost her pet kitten. Her eight-year-old daughter began crying inconsolably when she learned of this loss. She asked her mother what would happen to the kitten if she would go to heaven.

Many animal lovers wonder whether or not their furry friends will join them in heaven. They feel affection for their pets and are saddened when they die. They have come to naturally ask whether or not it is possible that heaven may be open to animals.

Respect for Creation

Pets can provide companionship to children and provide comfort to those who are sick, elderly or lonely. Many saints have had a special relationship with animals. They may have cared of one in need or may even have been helped by one. Their deep love for God inspired them to love all of creation. They recognized that each living creature has its own unique value in the eyes of God and reflects Gods wisdom and goodness.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church speaks of the respect we should have for creation and the affection many saints have shown for animals. It states:

Animals are Gods creatures. He surrounds them with his providential care. By their mere existence they bless him and give him glory. Thus men owe them kindness. We should recall the gentleness with which saints like St. Francis of Assisi or St. Philip Neri treated animals.

His address to them was a commentary on Jesus invitation to trust in Gods loving care. He loves and cares for all his creatures .

The Bible Is A Wealth Of Wisdom And Revelation But Still Its Only One Book

It can never contain the full wisdom of God. The apostle John said that the entire world would be too small to contain all the books that would have to be written, if people tried to write down all that Jesus Christ had said and done . Jesus Christ has revealed much more than which has been recorded. Why didnt God give us all this revelation in written form? Because the core message of the Bible is:

Have intimate friendship with God! Learn to hear the voice of God for yourself. Let Him be your Guide, your Father, your Friend, your Teacher, your Helper. Its all about a personal relationship with God.

Will I See My Pet In Heaven A Christian Perspective

  • Will I See My Pet in Heaven? A Christian Perspective

In 2007, my family lost a beloved cat. BB was like a member of our family, and the experience nearly broke our hearts. After we buried him, we began to ask ourselves: will we see him again in the afterlife? When I realized that there had to be many other Christian pet owners out there who struggle with the same question, I set out to look for answers amongst local ministers and in the pages of the Bible.

What happens to animals when they die? Many a personchild or adultmourning the death of a beloved pet has asked, Will my pet go to Heaven? Surely God has a place in Heaven for our cats and dogsafter all, they were so cute in life!

So can we look forward to seeing our pets again in the next world? Opinions vary widely because the Bible has not specifically addressed this question. We asked six Christian ministers in the Columbia, S.C. area if they believe we will see our pets in Heaven. All agreed that the answer to this question lies in how one interprets the Scriptures. Several ministers responded no, but others were willing to grant the possibility, though all admitted that there is no clearly right answer. We also posed the question of whether animals go to Heaven to the staff at Columbia International University , but there was no consensus among the theologians there.

Jesus said, All things are possible to him who believes! If you believe that, then get ready for one big ole animal reunion in Heaven.

God Created Man In His Image

The earth, sky, sun, stars, moon and animals were all created by the words of God. He spoke them into existence. But when God says that he is going to make man in his image in Genesis 1:26, he takes an approach to creation that he doesnt take with any other thing on the earth.

He scoops dust and forms a man and later forms the woman from the man. And he breathes his breath of life directly into them. God made them to reflect him, he made them with spiritual qualities that no other being has. You and I have the breath of God in us and we are image bearers of the Lord in the way that no animal ever could be.

The Unique Human Soul

Do Pets Go to Heaven?

Nevertheless, its important to note that even if we use the term soul as the ancients did, we must observe that plant, animal and human souls are of quite different kinds.

The plants vegetative soul enables it to reproduce and to assimilate nourishment for growth. Thats something a rock, for example, cant do.

Animals can do that plus other things. Their sensitive souls allow them to move to sense and respond to external stimuli and to perform rudimentary mental functions such as learning and even communication.

Even so, the human soul is unique. Of all earthly creatures, only humans are made in the image of God . Their soul is actually an immortal spirit, fully rational, able to reason and communicate at high levels, and able to choose good or evil with a free will.

Among earthly creatures, only humans are truly able to love in the full sense of the word: to will the highest good of another. Humans can know and love God and enter into friendship with Him in a way that no other earthly creature can.

Through sanctifying grace, the human soul is capable of the Beatific Vision in heaven that is, capable of entering so fully into union with God that we can see Him and know Him as He is.

Perhaps our reader should say something like this to her young students: Animals have souls in the sense that they are alive they arent just objects like rocks or chairs. Thats why we enjoy them so much!

Dogs In Heaven The Experts Speak

These questions have been asked by animal lovers for centuries, and even some heavy-hitting theologians have weighed in on the issue. According to many of them, yes, animals probably DO go to heaven.

C.S. Lewis, a well-known apologist for the Christian faith in the 1900s and author of the famous books The Chronicles of Narnia, is known for his assertion that animals would get to heaven through the relationship of their owners with God. Therefore, a Christian’s pets would be found in the new heaven because of their owner’s faith.

“The theory I am suggesting… makes God the centre of the universe and man the subordinate centre of terrestrial nature: the beasts are not co-ordinate with man, but subordinate to him, and their destiny is through and through related to his. And the derivative immortality suggested for them is not a mere amende or compensation: It is part and parcel of the new heaven and new earth, organically related to the whole suffering process of the world’s fall and redemption.” .

“I think God will have prepared everything for our perfect happiness. If it takes my dog being there , I believe he’ll be there.”

Rev. Billy Graham, often called “America’s Pastor”

But it’s understood that even brilliant minds such as Lewis, Graham, and Luther can be wrong, so what is the reasoning behind their belief that animals go to heaven?

Restoration Is The Thing: Bible Verses Discussing Restoration Of Creation

What does the bible say about animals/pets in Heaven? And do animals ...

The Bible mentions this restoration of Creation all throughout.

  • Acts 3:19-21“Repent then, and turn, to have your sins wiped out that a time may come when the Lord refreshes you and sends Jesus, Whom He appointed to be your Savior and Whom heaven had to receive until the time when everything will be restored, as God said long ago by His holy prophets.”
  • Revelation 21:1“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth has passed away, and there was no longer any sea.”
  • 2 Peter 3:10-13“But the day of the Lord will come like a theif, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are going to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, on account of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt in intense heat! But according to His promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

How Sure Are We That Animals Have No Soul

When you have an intimate relationship with an animal, you can be amazed at the depth of emotion, intellect, personality and sensitivity of this beautiful creature. Animals often sense the spiritual realm better than humans. Horses for example can sense unseen realities in an astonishing way. If I honestly look at the level of sensitivity of humans compared to horses, than one would rather be led to believe that humans have no soul and animals do have a soul, because horses are far more sensitive to spiritual and emotional realities. Humans are often so insensitive, they simply have no clue what is happening on deeper levels. Many humans are like a cold rock, sensing nothing but the obvious. Animals are not like this at all.

There May Be Animals In Heaven

And not only did God make sure to put all of these different kinds of animals and living creatures upon our earth, but there may also be animals living right now up in heaven. How do we know this?

Because there is one verse in particular that is telling us that when Jesus gets ready to come back to us in His 2nd coming, He will be coming back down to us riding on a white horse. And not only will He be riding on a white horse, but so will all of the saints who will be coming back down with Him.

And if Jesus and all of these saints are going to be coming down from heaven riding on these white horses, then this tells me that there literally has to be white horses up in heaven right now. And if there are at least white horses up in heaven right now, then there could easily be other types of animals and creatures living up there as well.

Here is the verse that will show you that Jesus will literally be coming back down to our earth riding on a white horse, along with the rest of His saints:

Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns.

He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called the Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
