Bible Verses About The Power Of Gods Word

THE GREATEST BIBLE VERSES (Inspirational)

1 John 5:4

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.

1 John is a powerful book, and this verse promises us victory if we hold on tight to our faith.

1 Corinthians 16:13

Be on your guard stand firm in the faith be courageous be strong.

We will face many challenges in our lives because there are so many forces that want us to fail in our faith, but 1 Corinthians 16:13 reminds us always to be alert and on guard.

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Proclamations of blessings like Romans 15:13 are powerful because, as the saying goes, Words are powerful. Gods word is much more powerful than anything in the world.

Revelation Looks Back To Genesis 12

When God makes a promise, God will fulfill that promise. And even our failures the failures of the people of God in the Old Testament, in the New Testament, and throughout the history of the church all of those many failures cannot keep God from fulfilling His promises.

And when we look all the way to Revelation 7:910, where it says John looks and sees this multitude that cannot be numbered, who are they? They are representatives from every people, every tongue, every tribe. Its the fulfillment of Genesis 12. John sees it.

John, a Jew, would have grown up knowing the promise of God to Abraham. It would have been ingrained in him. He would have known it, believed it, and understood it as part of his central and core identity.

So everything we know about the fulfillment that God brings to us of this promise in Jesus Christ is all based on that promise in Genesis 12. Thats why its the foundation. Everything is built on it. It explains where scripture is going. It explains why scripture is going in that direction. It explains what the story is all about. And believe me, theres one story, and it starts in Genesis and it ends in Revelation. God has one plan, and no plan B.

God Will Provide A Way Out

âNo temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.â

Sin often makes us feel as though weâre alone in our struggles. Shame lets us believe we are uniquely wicked for the temptations we face in our hearts and minds. But when Paul wrote to the church in Corinthâan ancient Greek city which had a reputation for depravityâhe told them their temptation was simply part of being human.

He also told them a secret about temptation: it will never be more than you can bear, and thereâs always a way out.

When youâre in the middle of being tempted to sin, it can feel like itâs inevitable that youâre going to mess up. But thatâs not the reality. Thereâs always a way out. It may not be easy. It might come with consequences. But if you look, itâs there, and you can overcome the temptation youâre facing.

The Apostle Paul Points To Genesis 12

Pin on Bible Verses File

No one less than the apostle Paul equates the blessing of the nations with the gospel. Galatians 3:79 shows us that this story of Abraham is directly related to the gospel. Paul writes,

Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: All nations will be blessed through you. So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

Both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament, when you see the words Gentiles, nations, or heathen in some older translations, those are all the same words: all the other peoples on earth other than the Jewish people.

The important thing here in this passage is that the apostle Paul says that the blessing of the nations is the gospel. When the gospel is preached and people from all nations believe in Jesus the Messiah, that is the fulfillment of Gods promise to Abraham.

We probably wouldnt put it this way. Most of us as Americans would not say that the blessing of the nations with the knowledge of Jesus is necessarily what the gospel is. But thats what Paul said, because thats what God said. The gospel was preached beforehand to Abraham. So when Abraham received the call of God to go and be a blessing to all the families on earth, that was, in essence, the foundation for the gospel. Thats why its one of the most important verses in all of scripture.
