God shows that He has forbearance by holding back or restraining His wrath when we sin against Him, against others, and against ourselves. God shows forbearance when He doesn’t give us the judgment we deserve. God is long-suffering, and we should be like Him by being slow to punish others when they do us wrong.

God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished
