What Does The Bible Say About Deception

The Coming Great Deception Matthew 2: 24

Rapture or Alien Deception, What Does the Bible Say About UFO’s Pt1 #Aliens

Many Christian writers and some Christian preachers keep bringing up the idea that we are living in the end times as described in the Bible. The evidence for this possibility is well established and many Christians believe what these writers and preachers are saying. But what, exactly, are the end times? If you dont know the details, do not worry, for Christs apostles werent sure either and Jesus had to explain it to them.

The Bible describes the end times, or times of trouble, in several places in the Old Testament, but it is in the book of Daniel that is most prominent. The prophet Daniel is famous for the stories of interpreting the writing on the wall and for surviving being thrown into the lions den. You may also remember the story of his friends being thrown into a furnace, but never burned. Daniel was an interpreter of dreams and chapters 10, 11, and 12 of his book describe his final vision, which involved the end times.

In the modern Christian teaching of millennialism,1 Daniels prophecy explains the rise and destruction of the Antichrist2 and the salvation of Israel and Christs return .3 This prophecy includes the resurrection of the dead.4

Before we go on, there are a couple of articles, related to Daniel, that you may enjoy. One is Daniels Friends were Thrown into the Fire and the other is Additions to the Book of Daniel from the Apocrypha. Both articles are listed at the end of this discourse in References & Notes.8

D Lying Alienates From God And Condemns Eternally

Proverbs 12:22 6:16-19 – Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight. Remember that lying is twice in the list of things that God hates.

Psalms 5:6 – God will destroy those who speak falsehood. He abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. God is true and cannot lie . When we lie, He cannot fellowship us. We separate ourselves from Him.

Revelation 21:8 – All liars will have part in the second death, the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:27 22:14,15 – He who makes lies will in no wise enter into the holy city. But everyone who loves and makes a lie will be outside the city.

Lying is the common cold of spiritual diseases. It is probably the most common sin committed by men, including Christians. As a result, many people consider it minor. They speak of “little white lies.” But no lie is little or white. Unlike colds, lies are deadly: spiritually deadly. They will eternally damn those who do not repent.

If we want spiritual fellowship with God, we must love truth, speak truth, and remove lying and deceit from our lives.

Bible Verses About Being Deceived

Scripture repeatedly tells us to watch out for people who may try to deceive us, but sadly many people overlook the warning. If there has ever been a time to be on guard it would be now. More and more wolves are popping up and deceiving many. Shield yourself with the Word of God so you dont become a victim. Meditate on the Bible daily. Anything that is hindering your growth in Christ remove it from your life.

Pray constantly and allow the Holy Spirit to guide your life. Listen to the convictions of the Spirit. Satan will do all he can to deceive us just like he deceived Eve.

He will say, dont worry God doesnt care. The Bible doesnt specifically say you cant do that. We must align our lives with Gods will. I encourage you to watch out for self-deception.

On the Day of Judgement you cant use I was deceived as an excuse because God is not mocked. Never put your trust in man, but instead put your full trust in the Lord.

Christian quotes

I believe hundreds of Christian people are being deceived by Satan now on this point, that they have not got the assurance of salvation just because they are not willing to take God at His word. Dwight L. Moody

Do not be deceived happiness and enjoyment do not lie in wicked ways. Isaac Watts

Thousands are deceived into supposing that they have accepted Christ as their personal Savior, who have not first received Him as their LORD. A. W. Pink

Beware of false teachers.

In the last days there will be many.

Drugs deceive us.

False Apostles Deceitful Workers

  • They will come posing as legitimate religious teachers. In 2 Corinthians 11:13 Paul identified these people as false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. Continuing, Paul stated that these people who appeared as ministers of righteousness were simply following Satans example of presenting himself as an angel of light .

This false teaching, which Paul called the mystery of lawlessness, had already begun in the first century and continues today.

Paul grieved at the thought of such deceitful savage wolves leading people astray. He told the Ephesian elders, For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves .

How can we know who is a legitimate minister of God? God, through the prophet Isaiah, said, To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them . True ministers of Jesus Christ will teach what Jesus taught!

Danger Of Being Deceived By Men: Deception Of End Times

Does God Cause Deception to Lie? A Response from Michael ...

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:3-5

In Matthew 24, Jesus responded to the questions that the disciples asked of Him pertaining to what would be the sign of his coming and the end of the world with a warning that deception would be prevalent in the earth, especially religious deception. His words warned us of the danger of being deceived by men. This being the case, we need to understand what to look for and also we should be aware of how we can be deceived.

Jesus told us to be on guard and to be careful so that no man would deceive us and he tells us that much of the deception would come from people who would be using His name and even some people would be so deceived they would literally claim to be Christ, Himself. Jesus, said deception would come from two sources:

  • People who would come in His name. These would be people who falsely represented Christ presenting themselves as pastors, prophets, teachers, evangelists and so-called Christian leaders, but were really wolves in sheeps clothing.
  • Matthew 7:20:Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. What are these fruits?

A Love Truth And Hate Lies

Psalms 119:104,128 – Through Your precepts I get understanding Therefore I hate every false way. All Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right I hate every false way.

Psalms 119:163 – I hate and abhor lying, But I love Your law.

1 Corinthians 13:6 – Love does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.

You and I must develop a strong commitment about lying. Don’t just mildly dislike lies, but actively hate the practice. If we continually remind ourselves of the terrible consequences of lying, this should motivate us to avoid lying and to oppose it in others.

What Must We Do To Overcomedishonesty And Learn To Be Honest And Truthful What Does The Bible Teach Aboutthe Dangers Of Falsehood

    Introduction

Our son Tim’s company gave him two free tickets to a Cubs game, so he and I went. A professional photographer asked if we would like to have our picture taken for free. When we agreed, he gave us a card telling us how to access our picture online. But the site required us to pay $20 to get any useable picture. He “took the picture” for free, but he knew people would think they would get a picture for free. He deceived us.

Proverbs 6:16-19 lists seven things that are an abomination to God, and two of them involve lying: “a lying tongue,” and “a false witness that tells lies.” God hates a lying tongue!

    Definitions of lying and deceit

1 John 2:21 – No lie is of the truth.

“Lie” – “…a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive…” – Random House College Dictionary.

“Deceit” – “act or practice … intended to … mislead by a false appearance or statement” – Random House College Dictionary.

The difference is that a lie is generally spoken but deceit includes anything, whether words or deeds, that are intended to lead people to believe what is not true.

Note that not everything that is untrue is necessarily a lie or deceit.

Lying generally involves deliberate falsehood, told with the intent of misleading or causing someone to believe error.

Note Isaiah 59:13 – Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

We will notice several verses later that show that lies come from the heart.

    Why Is Lying A Problem

Lying is harmful to ourselves and to the people we are in relationships with. Lying itself is an act of betrayal, and it violates the trust your friend, partner, or family member is trying to build with you. When people uncover lies, depending on how damaging the lies are, some relationships are ruined beyond repair. The risk is not worth losing such a valuable connection. Lying also goes more complicated the longer someone lies. When people lie, they have to tell more and more lies to cover up the truth, which gets more and more stressful and emotionally draining. Because lies hide a part of our ourselves and our feelings, it also becomes more and more difficult for people who lie to know how they truly feel. Telling the truth is challenging, but it also frees us from the burden of dishonesty, and makes our friendships and relationships more trusting and stable. If you have lied to someone you care about, apologize, ask for forgiveness, and let them know how much you want to change this behavior. If you struggle with lying and are unsure how to stop, you can talk to a counselor or mentor about breaking the cycle. If lying has hurt you, a mentor can help you find ways to rebuild trust in your relationships.

The Deceptive Potential Of Molecular Manufacturing

What does the Bible say about… DECEPTION?

In earlier writings, we’ve examined the enormous power of molecular manufacturing . This technology will effectively provide humanity with total control over all matter in the physical world. Able to break and create chemical bonds with atomic precision, molecular manufacturing will provide humanity with unprecedented power.

If the Antichrist were to administer the world’s molecular manufacturing capability, he could easily rule the entire world. And the abilities of this revolutionary technology would provide him with a powerful means for deceiving its people.

D Avoid People And Influences Known To Lie Or Deceive

Often we end up telling lies because we associate with liars, we listen to their lies, and we learn to imitate their evil.

Proverbs 17:4 – An evildoer gives heed to false lips A liar listens eagerly to a spiteful tongue. When we listen to other people’s falsehoods, we are tempted to speak them ourselves.

Psalms 101:7 – He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence.

If we are to keep truth in our hearts and avoid falsehood, we must take care whose speech we listen to. Yes, we should help liars repent and be forgiven. But if they refuse to repent and continue to speak lies, we must limit our association in order to keep our own hearts pure.

    Stop Drawing From Bitter Springs

Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? James 3:11. If we draw from the good spring one minute and then draw from the bitter spring the next, then we have deceived ourselves. We cannot serve God and mammon. Neither can we worship God and idols.

All bitter springs have to be stopped. All idolatry must be destroyed. The flesh with its lusts and desires must be crucified. If this is not donevery exactlythen we are deceiving ourselves. A double-minded or half-hearted person can never grow up to Him who is the Head, Christ. Such a person has deceived himself.

Does God Care About What We Do In The Privacy Of Our Bedrooms

Sex is Gods invention. He is the mastermind behind itand His creation is worth far more to Him than it is to us. This beautiful expression of love was created out of His own heart, as a gift to be experienced between a husband and wife. It is only in marriage that this manifestation of intimacy can be fully enjoyed in the depth for which it was created.

The more beautiful and unique something is , the more power it holds over our lives, either for good or bad influence. That is why it is so easy for the devil to corrupt the most precious of Gods gifts. When we become more in love with the gifts than the One who endowed them, the things that were designed to bless us begin to destroy us instead. Yes, God cares about what we do with our bodies, in public or in private. He doesnt want us to abuse ourselves in any way.

In fact, an older definition of masturbation is self-abuse. Although more modern dictionaries may no longer carry this definition, they are still linked together under self-abuse:

    Self-abuse,noun

    1. Abuse of oneself or ones abilities.

    2. Masturbation.

1 Corinthians 6:18 further confirms this, saying that unlawful sexual relations defile our own bodies: Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

Isnt it still better to masturbate than to commit fornication?

I agree with all the theory, but living it out on a day to day level is another story.

What the Bible Says About Hypocrisy and Deception

What Does The Bible Say Deception In The Last Days By Devil? The Bible tells us it must happen because Jesus told his disciples when his disciples wanted to know.

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

And Jesus warned us to stay ahead of this, as long as this world goes to the end, people will deceive people, nations will fight against nations, and deception will continue.

And as proof, we can see today. And at that time some hypocrites and devils will come and say that I am Jesusbut the Lord Jesus has told us how He will come.

Behold, he cometh with clouds and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen

Matthew 24:24-25For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before

Explanation:- Christians should be careful because in the last days many false prophets will come and they will deceive them.

They will show many miracles and wonders which will seem that Christ has come but they are false prophets.

Matthew 24:4-5And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ and shall deceive many

    Miracles Of The Messiah

Hundreds of years before Jesus of Nazareth walked the earth, the prophet Isaiah recorded for posterity some of the miraculous signs and wonders the Messiah would bring forth. Let’s look at a few of these:

“And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will sing for joy!” Isaiah 35:5-6

During the ministry of Jesus, the people of Israel experienced first hand the miracles He performed. Following encounters with Jesus, the mute could speak, the deaf could hear, the paralyzed could walk, and the blind could see. As a result, many placed their faith in Jesus of Nazareth as their Messiah.

In addition to these miracles, Isaiah looked forward to a time when the Messiah would personally rule over the nations of the world, settling their disputes and ending war forever:

“The Lord will mediate between nations and will settle international disputes. They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer fight against nation, nor train for war anymore.” Isaiah 2:4

Although this prophecy was not fulfilled in the first coming of Jesus Christ, it is certain to be fulfilled immediately following His Second Coming.

Jesus Himself issued a warning which provides us with the answer:

But how will he do this?
