Bible Verses About Judging Others Actions

What Does the Bible Say About Judgement?

What does the Bible say about judging others for their actions? As with everything else weve read so far, we cant judge others when we, ourselves, are not free of sin!

These Bible verses about judging others actions say:

  • Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure, you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brothers eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, Let me take the speck out of your eye, when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brothers eye. Matthew 7:1-5 ESV
  • When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her. John 8:7 NIV

Better Is Open Rebuke Than Hidden Love

Sometimes it is hard to rebuke someone, but a loving friend does tell us things we need to know even if it might hurt. Even though it might hurt we know that it is true and its coming from love.

23. Proverbs 27:5-6 Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.

Wrong Types Of Judgment

Superficial judgment is wrong. Passing judgment on someone based solely on appearances is wrong . It is foolish to jump to conclusions before investigating the facts . Simon the Pharisee passed judgment on a woman based on her appearance and reputation, but he could not see that the woman had been forgiven Simon thus drew Jesus rebuke for his unrighteous judgment .

Hypocritical judgment is wrong. Jesus command not to judge others in Matthew 7:1 is preceded by comparisons to hypocrites and followed by a warning against hypocrisy . When we point out the wrong doing of others while we ourselves err in the same way, we condemn ourselves .

Harsh, unforgiving judgment is wrong. We are always to be gentle toward everyone . It is the merciful who will be shown mercy , and, as Jesus warned, In the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you .

Self-righteous judgment is wrong. We are called to humility, and God opposes the proud . The Pharisee in Jesus parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector was confident in his own righteousness and from that proud position judged the publican however, God sees the heart and refused to justify the Pharisees sin .

Untrue judgment is wrong. The Bible clearly forbids bearing false witness . Slander no one .

We Are To Speak The Truth In Love

Some people judge with a bad heart to just tell someone off. There are some people who have a judgmental critical spirit and they search for something wrong with others, which is sinful. Some people are always putting others down and judging rudely. Some people put roadblocks in front of new believers and they will make them feel like they are in chains. Some people hold up big vicious signs to scare people. What they are doing is provoking people to anger.

We are to speak the truth in love and gentleness. We are to humble ourselves and know that we are sinners as well. We have all fallen short. I am not going to search for something wrong with you. I am not going to say something about every little last thing because I wouldnt want anyone to do it to me. No one will like you if you have a heart of a Pharisee. For example, if a curse world slips out of your mouth I am not going to jump on you.

That has happened to me before. Now its a different story if you profess to be a believer and you are constantly cursing and using your mouth for wickedness without a care in the world. I will come to you with love, gentleness, and Scripture. Remember its always good to humble yourself and talk about your failures so the person and you will know its coming from a good heart.

21. Ephesians 4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.

What Does The Bible Say About The Judgment Of Christ

How do you judge people you do not truly know?

Any study of the End Times can create a variety of questions, concerns, and even confusion in our minds about the judgment of Christ. Sometimes it is difficult to see how obscure passages, distant places, and unfamiliar symbols can have any significance for our lives. After all, if we cant understand what the Bible is teaching, how in the world can it have any relevance to what we are experiencing today?

Although Christians are most familiar with the first coming of Christ, it is the Second Coming that gets the most ink in the Bible. References to the Second Coming outnumber references to the first by a ratio of eight to one. Scholars count 1,845 biblical references to the Second Coming, including 318 in the New Testament. Christs return is emphasized in no less than seventeen Old Testament books and seven out of every ten chapters in the New Testament. The Lord Himself refers to His return twenty-one times. The Second Coming is second only to faith as the most dominant subject in the New Testament.

I dont want you to miss the rich truth God has provided for us in the Bible. To help you understand and appreciate this topic, I have compiled a list of questions and answers to the most frequently asked questions about biblical prophecy and the judgement of Christ.

Bible Verses About Condemning Others

Weve already covered a bit about what the Bible says about condemning others. But that was just the icing on the cake! The Bible is pretty clear in that we are not to condemn others for their thoughts or actions.

Here are just a few more verses about condemning others to meditate on:

  • Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. Romans 2:1 ESV
  • Judge not, and you will not be judged condemn not, and you will not be condemned forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37 ESV
  • You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before Gods judgment seat. It is written: As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before me every tongue will acknowledge God. So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. Romans 14:10-13

Reaping What You Sow What The Bible Says About Judgment

Although judgment usually has an evil connotation to it , it also has a positive side. Judgment has to do with the sowing and reaping process. This is defined in Galatians 6:7-9, Be not deceived God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

From this, we can see that the negative side of judgment is that evil reaps destruction, while on the positive side, good that is sown through Jesus is rewarded. Gods judgment on evil is seen by the curse that is on wicked men, while Gods judgment for the righteous will manifest in His blessings and rewards on them. This is true for individuals as well as nations.

Judgment Hangs Over Our Nation

Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you. Jeremiah 5:25

And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:47-48

Saints Will Differ In Heaven

The Apostle Paul says: There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead . Every Christian will be given a celestial body in the Resurrection, but these bodies will differ in the glory that each shall possess and enjoy in Heaven. Paul asks us to notice how the stars differ in glory, some shining with a greater brilliance than others. Then he concludes: So also is the resurrection of the dead. All believers will have glorified bodies, but there will be difference in glory according to the measure of our diligence and devotedness to Christ and His work. I hold in my hand three coins. One is gold, one is silver and the third is copper. All three bear the same inscription of the United States of America. However, the glory of the gold is one glory, the glory of the silver is a lesser glory, and the glory of the copper is yet a lesser glory than either the gold or the silver. So also is the resurrection of the dead. Each of the bodies of the saved will bear the glorified and heavenly mark of distinction, but the glory of some will differ from the glory of others. Our capacity to serve in Heaven we will take to Heaven with us when Jesus comes.

B Judgement Day For Non Believers

What does the BIBLE REALLY SAY about JUDGING OTHERS?

Not everyone will want to do God’s will, indeed, it says in the following bible verses:

“But when grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness even in a land of uprightness they go on doing evil and do not regard the majesty of the Lord.”Isaiah 26:10

The wicked will be put to death forever on Judgment Day.

“Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days or an old man who does not live out his years the one who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere child the one who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed.” Isaiah 65:20

At the end of Judgment Day, those who survive will ‘come to life’ fully as perfect humans. In the land of righteousness, the wicked will be put to death. So the Day of Judgment will see the return of mankind to its original perfection.

Then a final test will take place. Satan will be released from his imprisonment and will be allowed to try to lead mankind astray one last time.

Those who resist him will experience the full realization of the Bible promise:

“The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.”Psalm 37:29

What Does The Bible Say About Judging Righteously

Where in the Bible does it say we can judge righteously? John 7:24-34 NKJV tells us:

Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.

And this Proverb about judging righteously:

Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:9

This is probably making you think Didnt you just say that we arent supposed to judge others?

The truth is there is a big difference between judgment and judging righteously.

Bible Verses About Judging Others

Weve already seen a glimpse of what the Bible says about judging others. But that isnt all there is to learn about judgment in the Bible!

While we may be tempted to pass judgment on others because of their individual sins, the Bible is very clear that we should not. Our only job is to share the Good news of Christ. We are not tasked with being the Bible-enforcers or anything like that. We are simply to show others what it means to be a Christian a follower of Christ through love and compassion.

Who Will Be Judged

The judgment will be over all the unbelievers on the earth . At this time, Christ will return to earth with His raptured saints to judge the unsaved and reign over the earth. Though He will have taken the believers into heaven at the Rapture seven years earlier, others will have come to believe in Him during that dreadful time called the Tribulation. All those who have believed in Christ during the Tribulation will also reign with Him for a thousand years.

Christian Judging The Meaning Of Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged

25 Bible Verses about Judgement

What does Jesus mean when He says, Judge not, that you be not judged. ?

For modern westerners, this single verse is one of the most misunderstood and, therefore, misapplied verses in all of Scripture. I grew up hearing this defense mechanism, Judge not, lest ye be judged, when someone pointed out sin in anothers life. Sometimes the confrontation was done with vain motives , but sometimes not. Nevertheless, either kind of attempt to expose and correct sin in another was blocked by misquoting Matthew 7:1 as a shield for sin.

But is that what the verse means, that no one can judge anyone else or, for that matter, even inform others about their sin, so that the one whom informs will not be judged themselves? Well, lets reason it out with the Scriptures.

1) God will judge every sin, and He will judge every sin no matter who you are . He can do this because He not only sees all we do He sees the true intentions of our heart . Thus, no amount of overlooking someone elses sin will cause God to overlook your sin.

This is not to shame or humiliate or to gain a superior spiritual standing over someone else. No, Jesus says the sin should be first confronted privately between you and him alone . We are to go and tell them so that we may love them, truly. The uncomfortable conversation must be had so that we may keep our brothers and sisters in Christ from the awful effects of sin and sins ultimate end: death and eternal condemnation .

What Does The Bible Say About Being Judgmental

CONTRIBUTING WRITER

The Bible is clear that God does not want people to be judgmental. Christianity teaches that people do not have the entire picture as God does. Since human viewpoints are thought to be skewed based upon human limitations, people are not in a position to judge others well. Instead, according to Christians, God calls everyone to have compassion and forgive one another.

The Crowns Or Rewards

What does the Bible say about the Judgement Seat of Christ?

Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown .

And, behold, I come quickly and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be .

The Judgment Seat of Christ will be a crowning day for those Christians who will receive rewards for their works. The New Testament teaches that these are called crowns. There are five such crowns to be given.

2. The Crown of Rejoicing. For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming? For ye are our glory and joy . This is the soul-winners crown. The first thing that a Christian should pray for and seek to cultivate is the desire, ability, and wisdom to win lost souls to Jesus Christ. Paul was confident that when he would stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ the Thessalonian converts would guarantee a crown for all those who shared in bringing them to Christ. Every time an individual is converted, there is joy in Heaven but at the day of the giving of rewards the soul-winner will be exceeding joyful when those are presented to God whom he had won to Christ. What is our hope of reward as Christs witnesses? The answer is in those who will be in Heaven because of our prayers, gifts, preaching, and personal work.
