The Word Is Crucial To A Life Of Holiness
The first point is that seeing the word and knowing it and having it in us is crucial to living a life of holiness and love and power for the purposes of God.
We cannot even see what the word really is without Gods supernatural help.
Look back at verse 11, Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against you. How then are we to avoid sin in our lives? By treasuring the word of God in our hearts. Oh, how many people mess up their lives by not meditating on and loving and memorizing the word of God! Do you want to be holy, that is, do you want power to overcome sin and live a life of radical godliness and sacrificial love and utter devotion to the cause of Christ? Then get on the track. God has ordained a way to godliness and power: and it is the way of treasuring up the Bible in our hearts.
I say it to the old and I say it to the parents of the young. Meditate on and memorize and cherish the commandments and warnings and promises of God in the Scriptures. No, I do not say it is easy, especially when you are old. But most things worth doing are not easy. Making a fine piece of furniture, making a good poem, making a great piece of music, making a special meal or celebration none of them is easy. But they are worth doing. Is not a good life worth doing?
There are wonderful things to be seen in the word of God that will transform you deeply if you really see them and treasure them in you.
The Eye That Sees In The Spiritual
The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the LORD has made them both. NKJVAre we influenced by powers of darkness?
Have we become short sighted in spiritual things, resulting in us living in a spiritual mediocrity, influenced by attracting powers of darkness? Because of our weakened state, of spiritual blindness, our flesh is leading us and, in this, we rebel against the truth of Gods Word. We feed on our flesh through carnality. We find our eyes are drawn to the very things we should be fighting against.
At the same time on the positive side we need to yield to the power of Holy Spirit and become aware of the familiar voice of Gods Spirit. We are created to walk in such a high level of faith that we should see and hear with great clarity. This is so important today because we are in a spiritual battle for our very lives the battle over the flesh verses the spirit.
But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christs gift. 8 Therefore He says: When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. Every member of the Body of Christ receives grace and gifts in a measure from Him. Though we may have gifts differing one from another, all these gifts are valuable, so that there is no room for pride, envy and contempt. If there is any discord it will break the unity of the spirit and cause a level of suspicion and jealousy.
Sight is: a light and darkness issue.
The clarity of the inward eye imparts to the whole body.
How Is Your Spiritual Eye Sight
The eye is complex.
Even Darwin questioned his own theory of evolution with his thoughts on the complexity of the structure of the eye.
Charles Darwin writes:
to suppose that the eye, with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest possible degree.
Our eyes are like mini-cameras. We take them everywhere we go! With a pupil that contracts letting more or less light in and eye lids that work like windshield wipers its simply amazing!
But as amazing and complex as our eyes are they are incredibly limited and flawed.
They are limited to only seeing physical things like the device you are reading this on, your coffee cup, your car and your home. These physical things are only part of our reality.
How is your spiritual eye sight?
The spiritual realm is just as real but can only be seen through our spiritual eyes.
Jesus says:
The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!Matthew 6:22-23
Your eyes are the windows to your life.
Physical vision problems are common. It is estimated that around 75% of adults wear glasses. Thats a lot of us!

This Also Is True Of The Body Of Christ
The body that lacks spiritual sight is full of darkness, but the spiritually sighted body is full of light. Christ often used sight as a synonym for wisdom and understanding referring to those religious leaders who lacked sight and insight namely that they were blind.
Jesus said in Matthew 15:14, They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into a pit.
Our eyes are the chief channel of information for man. Of all the five senses, sight is the most needed and greatly valued.
- Sight is the KEY to knowledge.
- What you cannot conceptualize, you cannot understand.
- Both in the natural life and in the spiritual life.
- Seeing precedes knowledge.
Our moral flesh, our mind and soul, is not spiritual and so has no capacity to communicate with an immortal God.
In 1 Corinthians 2:14 it states: But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
So if we lose our spiritual sight we become spiritually blind thereby losing a vital portion of our spirituality.
Scripture states in Ephesians 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.
Without spiritual insight we cannot take what is freely given to us by Christ Jesus. All spiritual insight must line up with Gods Word and the principles of His Word.
Finally What Should You Do When Your Spiritual Eyes Are Open
When Jesus opened the apostle Pauls spiritual eyes, He gave him a mission:
Acts 26:17b-18I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.
If you are walking in the light, then you need to invite others into that light. Proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Continue to exercise your spiritual eyes. Engage in the hope to which you have been called in Christ. Perceive the spiritual realm. Discover revelation in the Word of God. Recognize the presence of Jesus in everyday circumstances. See opportunities for evangelism. And keep the focus of your life on Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 1:18-19aI pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe

When it comes to spiritual eyes, our usual problem is not that they are simply closed, but rather that they are blind.
2 Corinthians 4:4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
In the natural realm, blindness isnt fixed by merely opening ones eyes and the same goes for the spiritual realm. The only solution is healing, and the only source for that healing is Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 42:7 to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
Revelation 3:15-19 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarmneither hot nor coldI am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, I am rich I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing. But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.
We cannot open our own spiritual eyes. All we can do is come to Christ the Healer and humbly cry out for His awakening of our spiritual eyes. Repentance is a gift from God , so we cant successfully do it in our own strength.

The Trance State Is The Place That We Enter Into Through Meditation
Here are a few scriptures that talk about encounters with the trance state.
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me. Here we find Paul going into a deep trance during a large prayer gathering within the temple. This practice still occurs today with Christians in a large church setting, small group or even their personal devotional prayer time alone. We also see The Apostle Peter in Acts chapter 10 saying 4But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying, I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners and it came even to me.
This particular instance Peter saw a vision during a trance where God showed him what to do at a future time and actually showed it to him via dream symbolism that he would have to interpret in order to get the meaning. Also in Numbers 24:16
He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open

Seeing Yet Not Seeing
You can see the little picture, yet you may not see it until I tell you it is a giraffe going past a second story window. You may say, “Oh, now I see!” You have been given another kind of sight. We call it “insight”. A word occasionally used in the Bible is “Behold”. Beholding is not merely seeing. It is seeing with an intensity and insight that goes beyond a mere physical processing of light entering the eye.
When Jesus healed a blind man, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” The man replied, “I see men as trees walking”. He could see, but he was confused . Jesus touched his eyes again then he saw clearly he had not only sight, but insight, to make sense of what he saw .
It was not enough to see. He had to in-see This is how the Greek puts it. “I see…” in verse 24, becomes “he in-saw”in verse 25. Seeing without insight is seeing without understanding. It is seeing without discerning significance, and that is not really seeing at all.
Two people in the outback, may both have 20/20 vision, yet one way be blind compared to the other, because one lacks the insight to discern useful meaning from the image the eye provides, whereas the other reads information in the image that spells survival. The Australian outback is not merciful to those who venture into it blind of such insight.

Our Eye Gates Are Open Windows To Our Soul
If we are feeding our souls with carnal things, our eye gate will be drawn in the direction of fleshly desires. The lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the pride of life are carnality, and it brings forth sin, darkness and finally death.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the worldthe lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of lifeis not of the Father but is of the world. The opposite is true: if we feed the soul through the eye gate with good things and with the Word of God, more faith and light begins to shine through our lives with more illumination and revelation is revealed through the Holy Spirit.
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
Opening The Third Eye
What is the Third Eye and why should Christians know about it.
First lets look at Wikipedia:
The 3rd or Inner Eye A metaphysical opening which refers to the 6th chakra , that leads to higher consciousness. A new age symbol of enlightenment.
Okay so the Third Eye is a psychic ability connected to the occult. Dictionary.com defines occult as knowledge of secret or supernatural powers, beyond the the range of ordinary senses, or secret/hidden information only available to the initiated.
Next we need to know how one opens this Third Eye. The main way that one opens himself up to the spirit realm, is through meditation. It is through meditation that one achieves an altered state of consciousness. Constantly you will find that meditation, or the emptying of ones mind, is the doorway to all metaphysical activity.
Back to the 6th chakra. The chakras usually relate to yoga, but not always. The 6th chakra in yoga is the brow. When kundalini rises to the the brow, there is enlightenment that is characterized by light. Those using yoga as a means of enlightenment get results by meditation, forced breathing patterns and using unnatural positions to force the power at the base of the spine upwards with the crown chakra as the main goal.
Another way enlightenment occurs is through meditation and visualization. Certain techniques are used to see and direct the serpent power up the spine through the chakras .
