Protection From The Eye

The Bible is evil

The belief in the evil eye during antiquity varied across different regions and periods. The evil eye was not feared with equal intensity in every corner of the Roman Empire. There were places in which people felt more conscious of the danger of the evil eye. In Roman times, not only were individuals considered to possess the power of the evil eye but whole tribes, especially those of Pontus and Scythia, were believed to be transmitters of the evil eye.

The phallic charm called fascinum in Latin, from the verb fascinare, to cast a spell is one example of an apotropaic object used against the evil eye. They have been found throughout Europe and into the Middle East from contexts dating from the first century BC to the fourth century AD. The phallic charms were often objects of personal adornment , but also appeared as stone carvings on buildings, mosaics, and wind-chimes rel=nofollow> tintinnabula). Examples of stone phallic carvings, such as from Leptis Magna, depict a disembodied phallus attacking an evil eye by ejaculating towards it.

In describing their ability to deflect the evil eye, Ralph Merrifield described the Roman phallic charm as a kind of lightning conductor for good luck.

Evil Eye beliefs and practices are founded on coherentpre- modern theories of vision and make sense in culturalsituations where the vagaries of chance, accidents, disease, anddeath impinge on all aspects of human life. Elliotts two volumesoffer the teacher an invaluable resource for helping students thinkabout practices that have had salience from the times of theSumerians until our day.It is impossible in a review adequately to describe the breadth ofElliotts work, since he seems to have ferreted out of 2000 yearsof ancient cultures practically every instantiation of EvilEye belief and practice, of which there seem to be hundreds ofvariations. The two volumes are splendidly illustrated throughoutwith photographs and drawings of hundreds of amulets, gurines, mosaics, and inscriptions. God Will Punish The Wicked

7. Everyone who is proud in heart is detestable to the LORD be assured that he will not go unpunished.

8. Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.

Genuine Love Hates What Is Evil

Abhor what is evil hold fast to what is good.

To abhor is to have a horror of something. If you love what is good, you will abhor the evil that destroys it. If you love truth, you will hate lies. If you love peace, you will hate war. To abhor evil is part of loving what is good. Notice that God says, abhor what is evil. We are to abhor what is evil.

Peter Kreeft, a Catholic writer who I have found very helpful, makes the point that abortionists, homosexual activists, pornographers, school boards, and the media are not the enemy. They are the victims of our enemy.

The Bible says, We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places . That is why we engage in the battle by putting on the full armor of God.

It would have been easy for Christians in Rome to think: If we could just get rid of Nero, we would have dealt with the problem. But the problem was not Nero. Behind Nero there were dark powers. The lyrics from the song O Church, Arise say this well:Our call to war:

To love the captive soul

And to rage against the captor

We are not called to rage against the captive soul. We are to love the captive soul and to rage against the captor who is Satan, our enemy. That is our call to war, and its really important that we understand it.

Persecution For The Sake Of Witnessing For Jesus Is Glory And A Cause For The Believer To Rejoice

Top 20 Evil Bible Stories

Oh how different were the reactions of Peter and John from the fear-driven cowardice of apostate pew-sitters over enduring persecution for the name of Jesus.

And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

This doesnt mean that all believers are looking forward to persecution.

But persecution is not Gods Wrath as so many in the churches have been taught.

Those who inhabit the churches tremble that they may be called upon to suffer for the name of Jesus. Apostates who smile and gush how much they love Jesus are scared witless by the prospect their empty words may call for action.

Hypocrites!

The American Church has morphed into a modern version of the Pharisees: they have God on their lips but their minds and hearts are on the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eye and the pride of life. If one verse sums up the modern American Church, perhaps it is Matthew 15:8.

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips but their heart is far from me.Matthew 15:8

Jesus warned of end times deception. Satan is inhumanly, infernally clever at deception. But those sitting in the churches dismiss Satan as a buffoon. Meanwhile the multitudes of unsaved church-goers sink deeper into the enemys deceptive doctrines, led by the man-pleasers who infest the pulpits.

Persecution is Jesus beating his bride?

Apostate nonsense!

How Scripture Speaks Of Evil

Evil is used in Scripture in two ways. First, Scripture speaks of evil as moral wickedness in terms of sin . English speakers would understand evil in this way, but the Hebrew language is highly contextual.

The Old Testament references moral evil as closely connected to catastrophe, disaster, tragedy, or ugliness . Isaiah 31:2 even uses the phrase evil in both ways.

While modern English translations use evil for morality, older translations such as Isaiah 45:7 in the KJV use evil as disaster, therefore resulting in confusion in understanding the term.Moral evil is contrary to the nature of God and never necessary. The Lord offers a solution that no matter the situation, it does not and will not require evil .

Moral evil is neither justified by the moral law of God nor excused by any situation. Some people think that any kind of sin may be permissible, but, in truth, it is never necessary in the eyes of the Lord.It also needs to be explained that circumstances define actions themselves. This should not be viewed as situational ethics, which has, at its foundation, no objective moral laws beyond the ends justifies the means.

Instead, its an acknowledgment that morality is not defined by words but by our response to the will of God in each moment of our lives .

Yet, as GotQuestions also points out, it also needs to be said, not every instance of one man killing another is murder. For example, capital punishment , self-defense , and legitimate war are not examples of murder.

How Do You Protect Yourself From The Evil Eye

Protective talismans including the Evil Eye by Blessed Be Magick

The evil eye amulet, with its iconic concentric blue design, is the go-to talisman for many believers. In the simplest terms, the amulet is meant to reflect the gaze back to the giver.

To harness the protective power of these symbols, you can wear jewelry featuring the evil eye.

If you prefer ritual work or want to call in some extra protection, you can try one of the rituals or practices from different cultures . You may see Christians in Europe make a cross with their hands. In Latin America, a raw egg is used to absorb the curse. Witches typically sprinkle salt or Florida water around their homes to keep out negative influences.

Do you keep an evil eye or protective talisman on you? What are your favorites? Wed love to hear your experiences and thoughts in the comments below.

God Did Not Spare His Own Son

The cross speaks to our theology of suffering in at least two ways. First, it shows us that God can will something to happen that he opposes. Proverbs 6:16-17 tells us that God hates “hands that shed innocent blood.” And yet he sent his Son to suffer precisely that fate. Is this a mystery? Absolutely. But it is not nonsense. We can look at evil and with no contradiction say, “This is wrong, and God has willed that it take place.” Listen to how Peter describes the crucifixion: “This Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed ” .

Second, the cross demonstrates that God regards our affliction not as something strange to the palette, but as a cup he has drunk to the dregs. By giving up his own Son, God entered into our pain. He knows what it’s like to suffer loss. But he also did more. By putting his Son to grief, God turned grief on its head. “But he was wounded for our transgressions he was crushed for our iniquities upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed” . This brings us to the final point.

A Prayer Against Evil Eye

Why Does Evil Exist? #1 – The Biblical Definition Of Evil

Go away, Satan, You have nothing here, especially with this Holy Spirit, the Lord is with me. I am not afraid of you, and I do not want to follow you in spite of all things. I love the Lord my God, Creator of the universe and my Creator. Stay away, you wicked one. Your way is not in my way, Get out of here.

O, My God I believed in you, and You guided me and my strength and trained me on your love, and slap me whenever I try to get out of your way I want you by my side and with me and with all my senses that endowed me that do not hear and see and feel only the voice of the Lord and his word, I love you so much and know that you will not give up Because I am a weak person.

Bless me, Lord, and Purify me, for I want to be in the line of righteous. And you devil, get out of here. What if you do not see that my love for my mother Mary and Jesus is greater than everything? Go away and dont come back again.

Glory to you, O Lord. Amen.

NEWS about World War 3.Are we on the road to World War 3? How much time do we have? Is there anything we can do about the events which are soon to overtake those living on the earth?

World War 3 media talk increased greatly over the past several days and it all focused on Korea, both North and South.

Shooting took place this past week on the Korean peninsula and the shooting escalated into artillery fire from both sides. Korea was the site of the US-led Korean War from 1950-53.

Will the shooting develop into anything more?

Hard to tell, but talks were immediately commenced amid the Norths troop movements and the usual barrage of verbal threats.

The guess here is that its all just part of the run-up to the real show: the Middle East.

SPECULATION: World War 3 will start in the Middle East and spread to Asia to include the Koreas, Taiwan and China. And probably other countries as well.

Until that all gets underway, expect a period of calm over the upcoming months punctuated by outbreaks of violence designed to keep the folks at home guessing.

HOWEVER, history records it is during the midst of relative calm that previous World Wars have broken out after long periods of underlying tensions and military build-ups.

TICK TICK: Iran deal = Munich comparisons time clock runs out the beginning of July 2016.

REMEMBER: World War 3 will happen. Its not a matter of IF, its a matter of WHEN. World War 3 will happen.

The Bible is clear on the subject of an end times world war.

If God Created All Things Good Why Does Evil Exist

We will approach this question with humility. There is much debate in the Christian world concerning this topic, so I will encourage you to look to Gods word and solid teaching on your own as well. A lot of sources attempt to answer this question by focusing on free-will. The Bible does make it clear that we are responsible for our actions, but we must remember that God is sovereign over all things, even evil.

This is not an easy truth to understand, as there is a level of mystery here we may never be able to fully comprehend until were with Jesus. In his article, How Did Evil Begin?, John Piper offers his perspective: This, to me, is one of the great mysteries of biblical teaching that I cannot explainhow God governs the will of sinful beings, yet, in doing so, does not sin, and does not take away their responsibility. I see that it is true, because the Bible teaches it, but how God does this remains a mystery.

We know that the Lord does not delight in evil or suffering. As previously stated, Jesus suffered and died to save us from these very things. The Lord hates evil, but He has complete control over it and could completely eradicate it in a moment. So why doesnt He? Why does it exist at all?

The plan before creation was that Christ would be the Lamb slain for sinnerssinners whose names were written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain . Christ slain for sinners was the plan before any human sinned.

Beware Of False Prophets

The number of websites which feature a prophet or prophetess claiming to speak for God is staggering. These websites feature messages which appear to be godlyIF the reader doesnt look too closely.

Mostly they offer several things:

1- They contradict the word of God 2- They point the reader away from Jesus 3- They further the end times schemes of the dragon.

And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.Luke 21:8

The messages these prophets are getting right now all seem to be a variation on the theme that God is love. God IS love, but He is very much more than that.

Anyone who believes that God is love and only love doesnt know the God Almighty of the Bible and has fashioned an idol and called it God.

And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD. And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.Exodus 32:3-6

They worshiped an idol and called it God.

Is The Phrase Necessary Evil Biblical

What we can say is if we take necessary evil, literally, then it is unbiblical. Whether circumstances might be morally justified actions or not, the Lord would otherwise prohibit according to His judgment, and not ours, which is more difficult to untangle.

Necessary evil implies that certain things are warranted by the situation a person is facing. As we consider this phrase, we need to also consider the phrase unnecessary evil, which is actually unbiblical because it teaches that it is never morally acceptable or necessary to choose or do something if it is considered evil.

This means that necessary evil can and does have some validity depending on how it is understood, with the difference being on how one defines the phrase.

In this article, well look at what Scripture has to say about necessary evil and why this matters to the people of God.
