When Does The Bible Say The World Will End

What Are The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse

How does the Bible say the world will end?

Many movies and TV shows deal with apocalyptic circumstances, and references to the four horsemen are not uncommon. Hollywood uses the concept of the horsemen for its own purposes, but Scripture provides the only reliable description of the apocalyptic figures.

In Revelation 6:1-8, John describes Jesus opening four of the seven seals of judgment to begin the Tribulation. The first four seals are the horsemen, who are released from heaven to usher in various judgments on the earth.

White Horse. And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. Revelation 6:2

The rider on the white horse is the Antichrist. After working with Satan to unite the world under the guise of peace, the Antichrist will later wage open war against Gods people. His white horse is a direct imitation of Jesus return later in Revelation . Satans purpose has always been to counterfeit the work of Christ, and the Tribulation will be no different.

Red Horse. Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another and there was given to him a great sword. Revelation 6:4

The fiery red horseman represents nation rising against nation and individuals fighting each other. It ushers in the war, murder, and bloodshed that characterize the Tribulation.

Consider Two Statements Jesus Made About The End:

Keep on the watch, therefore, because you know neither the day nor the hour.MATTHEW 25:13.

Keep looking, keep awake, for you do not know when the appointed time is..

So no one on earth knows exactly when this system of things will come to an end. However, God has set an appointed timea definite day and hourfor the end to come. Does this mean that there is absolutely no way of knowing when the end is near? Not at all. Jesus told his disciples to look for a number of events that would indicate that the end was close at hand.

But Such Bad Predictions Arent A Modern Phenomenon

Pin on All that matters

Historians say many Christians in 17th-century Europe predicted the world would end in 1666 because the numbers “666” represented the mark of the Beast mentioned in the Bible’s Book of Revelation. When the Great London Fire, which lasted four days, erupted that year, many saw it as a fulfillment of the prophecy.

Browne, the author and psychic, was consistently criticized for the inaccuracy of her prophecies when she was alive. There are numerous accounts that she made mistaken claims about crimes that increased the suffering of victims’ families. She even predicted she’d die of old age at 88 — she died at 77.

Even Browne’s most famous prediction, about a mysterious respiratory illness in 2020, looks different in a critical light.

Snopes, the fact-checking website, said, “lobbing vague claims about likely events does not a prediction make,” when examining Browne’s prophecy. It rated her prediction as not true or false but as a “mixture” containing significant elements of both truth and falsehood.

“It’s unclear whether Browne’s ‘prediction’ was more of a lucky guess, considering the book was written after the SARS outbreak,” Snopes said.

Does The Bible Say How The World Will End

The Bible actually says that the earth abides forever, so then how can the Bible also declare the end of all things? You have seen the signs and placards that have sometimes declared The end is near. But does the earth actually end? The end times is more of a reference to the end of the age and not an actual end of the world or earth. It certainly does not mean the end of mankind. Jesus talked about the end of the age coming and that the end times would be like the days of Noah and like Sodom and Gomorrah . That is much like 2 Timothys description of the end of times but not of time itself. It is the end of the time of human self-rule.

Second Timothy 3:1-5 is a vivid description of what the end days will be like: But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

So the old world will end and a new heaven and a new earth will come . That is encouraging for those who are believers in Christ but it ought to be a fearful thing for those who are not believers and are not born-again.

Churches Are Desolate And The Love Of Believers Is Cold

Matthew 24:12 says, And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Throughout the entire religious world, desolation is spreading. The preaching of pastors and elders has become tired and cliché, and is failing to provide for believers. In their struggle for status, some pastors are forming cliques and creating factions in the churches, and some have even gone into business by setting up factories to lead believers along the secular path meanwhile, among the believers, there is a general weakness of confidence and a reluctance to part with the world, and they live in its tiresome entanglements. Some churches look crowded and lively from the outside, but many people come to church merely to expand their network and sell products, using the church as a place of commerce. What is the difference between a church today and the temple toward the end of the Age of Law? In these things, the complete fulfillment of this prophecy of the Lords return is apparent.

What Drives These Doomsday Prophets

Many include wildly inaccurate readings of the Book of Revelation. Often these pandemic prophets end their predictions with sign-offs such as “IF YOU DON’T HAVE A BIBLE, BUY ONE!”

Maybe it’s no wonder some people are stocking up on guns and ammo.

But some who study religion and prophecies for a living say it’s time for these social media prophets and psychics to take a self-enforced quarantine. Doomsayers are harming peoples’ spiritual and psychological health, they say.

Theyre also claiming knowledge that even the most revered figures in religion didnt dare assume. Whenever Ulrich Lehner, a Catholic theologian at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, comes across a social media preacher warning that COVID-19 means the end of the world is near, hes tempted to tweet back this response: Matthew 24:36.

That’s the passage when Jesus says about the end of the world: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

“Jesus himself said, ‘You don’t know the hour,’ yet some self-appointed prophets today seem to know more than the angels around God’s throne,” Lehner says.

Lehner says some of the doomsday prophets may be driven by another sin: pride.

“Perhaps in these guys who create mass panic there is also a certain pride, a bloated self-confidence that ‘I have some special insight,”’ says Lehner, author of “God is Not Nice: Rejecting Pop Culture Theology and Discovering the God Worth Living For.”

This Is What The Bibles Terrifying End Of The World Predictions And Apocalyptic Verses Really Mean

What does the Bible say about “the end of the world?”

Some Christians have used chapters from the holy book to predict the start of the Rapture will take place this week

  • 13:06, 9 Oct 2017

A BIBLICAL scholar has stepped forward to explain the REAL meaning of the Good Book’s apocalyptic verses amid fears the end of the world is nigh.

Some Christians have used passages from the holy tome to predict the start of the Rapture – when all believers will rise into the sky and join Christ for eternity – will take place this week.

Methodist conspiracy theorist David Meade has tied in biblical stories with the movement of the stars and planets to state earth will go into self-destruct mode on October 15.

He predicts seven years of nuclear attacks and hurricanes will destroy the planet – triggered by the arrival of a mysterious Planet X.

Now the Church has come out to explain what the bible’s passages really mean.

The Reverend Dr Ian Paul, a member of the council which advises the leadership of the Church of England, said the prediction was a complete misconception.

How About The Antichrist Isnt That In Revelation

Nope, Beal says.

The writer of the first book of John in the New Testament warns of generic “Antichrists” who deny that Jesus is the messiah. But there is no figure like the central character in the film, “The Omen,” a cunning son of Satan with the number 666 stenciled on his body.

So what about 666 — isn’t that in Revelation?

Yes, but it doesn’t refer to Satan. Instead, theologians say the number references another incarnation of evil for the first Christians: Nero, the Roman emperor.

Jones, the Texas church youth director, cited Revelation 15:1-3, which warns about “seven angels with seven plagues.”

“I don’t think posting things of that nature is to spread fear, ” Jones says. “My belief is God is coming soon and there will be things that were written that will take place, things that may seem a little scary, but I think it reaffirms what God said would happen.”

What Will Happen On Or Near The Last Days

The apostle Paul once again gives us a preview of the last days as he wrote to young Timothy:

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. Have nothing to do with such people .

These verses tell us conclusively about the conditions in the world at the time prior to the Lords coming. And just as in the case of Matthew chapter twenty-four, all of these elements of the last days will become worse with time.

Concerning the character of those in the last days, Jesus also made this statement, also in Matthew twenty-four:

For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in , up to the day Noah entered the ark and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man .

So, as we see all these things come to pass here in these last days, remember the words of Jesus:

When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near .

Praise the Lord! Hes coming soon!

The end of the world will coincide with war and natural disasters, according to prophetic scripture in the Christian Bible. Before the end times and Second Coming of Jesus Christ, many Christians believe the Antichrist will arive to deceive the world during a seven-year period known as the Tribulation.

Is There A Second Chance At Salvation After The Rapture

The End of the World: What Does the Bible Say?

Yes, during the Tribulation, many people will choose to believe in Jesus and be saved. Most of these new believers will become martyrs for their faith because of intense persecution. Revelation 7:9-14 portrays these new believers accumulating in heaven after the Rapture:

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb! Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from? And I said to him, Sir, you know. So he said to me, These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

How will these people discover the truth of the Gospel after the Rapture? According to Revelation 7, 144,000 Jewstwelve thousand from each of the twelve tribes of Israelwill be chosen and sealed as witnesses to the Gospel before Christ returns. The Holy Spirit will provide them with power and protection to preach the Gospel during this time. With the promise of Gods protection, they will be fearless. No one will be able to harm them until their job is complete. Then, they will ascend to heaven.

Biblical Prediction Of The World’s End

A number of Protestant sects have focused on the imminent second coming of Jesus as a key part of their doctrine. In the 19th century, groups known as dispensationalists put forth the theory that Christ’s arrival would be preceded by a “tribulation.” Wars, famines, epidemics and earthquakes would be the fate of anyone not transported away in the “rapture” that would come just before the havoc. These predictions drew on verses from the Book of Revelation, the Old Testament and other biblical sources .

The tribulation and the second coming have always remained just around the corner, but some Evangelical preachers have suggested that 2012 may be the time when they finally arrive. Others have drawn on the methods put forth in the best-selling 1997 book “The Bible Code” to determine that news of 2012 is contained in the scriptures in the form of a cipher .

There is a long history of predicting the exact date of the apocalypse based on biblical interpretation. In the 1840s, upstate New York farmer William Miller kicked off an end-of-the-world movement by calculating that the final day would arrive on October 22, 1844. Thousands of people prepared for the end, only to experience “The Great Disappointment” on October 23. The Seventh Day Adventist Church is an offshoot of Miller’s movement .

In the next section, we’ll look at the mainstream view of the 2012 predictions.
