How To Recognize Gods Grace In Your Life
You can notice signs of Gods grace in your life whenever you experience the wonder of Gods love for you. God doesnt owe anyone anything, yet God chooses to freely give grace to everyone who connects with him in a saving relationship. When you ponder the reality that every ability you have even the ability just to take your next breath is a gift made possible by a gracious God, youll see how deeply grace runs through your life.
One powerful practice that can help you recognize Gods grace toward you is to make a daily list of blessings for which youre especially grateful. You can incorporate that list into your morning or evening devotional times, to express your thanks to God. My book Wake Up to Wonder explains how connections between gratitude and grace work. It describes research that shows how expressing gratitude for Gods blessings in our lives leads to more blessings, in the form of well-being benefits. Those benefits include higher levels of positive emotions such as joy, greater alertness, and an increased ability to notice wonder and experience awe. The English words gratitude and grace share the same Latin root, gratus. When you choose to become grateful, you become connected to grace, as well. You can perceive the wonder of Gods grace at work in your life when youre in a state of gratitude.
Whats The Difference Between Mercy And Grace
Both mercy and grace are gifts from God that we dont deserve. But there is a difference between them.
Mercy is when God withholds the punishment we deserve. Its His compassion and kindness shown to us in our time of need.
Grace is when God gives us something good that we dont deserve. Its His unmerited favor and blessing.
For example, mercy would be shown to a criminal who is about to be executed. A judge might have mercy on him and spare his life. But that doesnt mean the criminal is innocent. He still deserves punishment.
Grace, on the other hand, would be shown to a criminal who is pardoned and set free, even though he deserves to be punished. He is given a new life, even though he doesnt deserve it.
God shows both mercy and grace to us. He has mercy on us when we sin and withholds the punishment we deserve. And He shows grace to us by giving us His Son, Jesus Christ.
When we receive Jesus, we receive forgiveness and eternal life. We are given a new start, even though we dont deserve it. Thats the amazing grace of God.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
Worried how youll make ends meet? Dont be. The Bible promises us over and over again that God will meet all of our needs .
After all, if God takes care of the birds and flowers, wont He also take care of us as well, His children? Just because you dont know HOW God will work things out yet doesnt mean that He wont!

Christ is with us, and there is nothing and no one who can get in between us and our Savior without Him knowing about it. We cant be from Christ. People come and go in our life, but Jesus stays for good! We have a friend who will not leave us in the mud. He is all about helping us get unstuck. We must not listen to our fear.
We have been given the Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. We will not have the abundant life that Christ has for us if we dont rest our security in Him. Life in Christ is filled with surprises, miracles, and joy. Its in Christ that we have peace. Disappointment and loss are part of our story. We dont always understand why God allows certain things to happen. What we do know, is that God has a purpose for our life. Our assurance in this sets us free from insecurity and gives us a life of security.
Truth 4 I am a Minister of Gods Word Because of What Jesus Did on the Cross.
In Christ we have forgiveness and we are obligated to deliver Gods salvation message to others. We are saved and changed so that all can know the good news of the gospel. We were not saved just to sit around all quiet about it.

Without Gods Grace Salvation Is Impossible
As a New Covenant believer, this is a truth I hold close to my heart. I owe my life and all that I am to the grace of God, the sacrifice of Jesus, and the work of the Holy Spirit.
But we mustnt skim over the last four words of the passage abovebefore the beginning of time.
Before God created mankind, He knew of our need to be rescued from sin.
The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ was not Gods back up plan. His last resort. His get out of jail free card.
Absolutely EVERYTHING that happened between Adams first breath and Jesus death was part of Gods gracious plan to redeem mankind.
There Is No Sin So Great That Gods Grace Cant Forgive It
Believers do not desire to sin, we do not practice sin, and we wage war against sin. With these things taken into consideration that does not mean that we wont have severe battles against sin or that we cant backslide. There is a difference between genuinely struggling with sin and having a hunger for righteousness and being dead in sin. There are many believers who are fighting an intense battle. The struggle is real but never forget that God is real as well.
Some of you have confessed your sins and you said you would never do it again but you sinned that same sin and you are wondering, is there hope for me? Yes, there is hope for you! Dont go back to those chains Barabbas. All you have is Jesus. Believe Him, trust in Him, fall upon Him. Dont you ever doubt the love that God has for you. Ive been there before. I know how it feels when you sin the same sin over again. I know how it feels when you backslide and Satan says, youve gone too far this time! Hes not going to take you back. You messed up His plan for you. Remind Satan that there is nothing stronger than Gods grace. It was grace that brought the prodigal son back.
8. Psalm 103:10-11 he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him.
