Why Was Book Of Enoch Removed From The Bible

Angels Are Bound In Heaven

[Banned!] The controversial reason the Book of Enoch was removed from the bible!

The Book of Enoch, chapter 21, says a desolate place in heaven where angels are bound for eternity. Verses 9 through 10 states Then Uriel answered me one of the Holy Angels who was with me and said unto me Enoch why has thou such fear and of right and I answered because of this fearful place and because of the spectacle of the pain. He said unto me this place is the prison of the Angels, and here they will be imprisoned forever.

This totally contradicts Scripture. The Bible states that one-third of the heavenly angels were cast out of heaven with Satan for siding with him in his rebellion in Revelation chapter 12 verses 3 4 and 9. The Bible never states that there are fallen angels bound in heaven in a place of despair, not to mention the Bible says that the fate of Satan and his angels is destruction in the lake of fire in Matthew chapter 25 verse 41.

Gog as well as Magog to unite them to fight. The number of them is highly similar to the sands from the ocean. They came up over the entire earth. They circled the saints camp around. The one that will be burning on earth Revelation chapter 20, verses 7-10 mentions that once the millennia-years are over, Satan shall be loosed from his prison and be releasedtrying to fool the world within the four quarters of the globe.

Factors In Consideration Of 1 Enochs Canonicity

The early Church did not place books in the canon haphazardly. They examined each book and placed it the canon based on function, adaptability and stability, and continuous usage. In other words, a canonical work contains adaptable wisdom on how to live at any time.21 However, other factors come into play.

  • New Testament books had to come from the first century apostolic circleeither an apostle, companion of an apostle, or otherwise qualified individual .
  • They could not contain teachings that contradict orthodox doctrine.
  • The person named as author must be the author.22
  • The book must demonstrate inspiration from the Holy Spirit. Easily the most difficult to determine, inspiration remains the ultimate factor.
  • Fortunately, the community of faith realized Enoch failings at several points along these tests. Obviously, no Apostle or companion wrote Enoch, so it could not be placed in the New Testament. While the ancient books genre almost required writing pseudonymously, 1 Enochs pseudonymous nature served as another problem for the early Church. However, even if all these could be overcome, Enoch still contradicted accepted doctrine.

Enoch contains numerous doctrinal differences with the canon. Almost in the beginning of the book, Enoch lays the blame for the Genesis Flood and introduction of evil into the world at the feet of the fallen angles whom he calls Watchers instead of humans as Genesis 1 and 6 do .23 Sadly, Enochs doctrinal aberrations do not end there.

The Revelations In The Book Are Not Meant For The Generation Of Enochs Time

In the Book of Enoch, the opening verses stipulate that the book has revelations not meant for Enochs generation. They are meant to be understood and absorbed by remote generations long after Enoch and Christ. It may be why the book, rejected by the church earlier, is rising into awareness in present times.

Enoch 1:1-3 says, The words of the blessing of Enoch, wherewith he blessed the elect and righteous, who will be living in the day of tribulation when all the wicked and godless are to be removed.

He took up his parable and said -Enoch a righteous man, whose eyes were opened by God, saw the vision of the Holy One in the heavens, which the angels showed me, and from them, I heard everything, and from them, I understood as I saw, but not for this generation, but for a remote one which is for to come.

Why Was The Book Of Enoch Removed From The Bible ...

The fallen angels are named after entities from both Christian and Pagan mythology, such as Moloch, Chemosh, Dagon, Belial, Beelzebub and Satan himself. Following the canonical Christian narrative, Satan convinces other angels to live free from the laws of God, thereupon they are cast out of heaven.

Who Was Enoch In The Bible

There are four different men in the Bible named Enoch . However, it should be noted that only the NIV gives the name Hanok while other translations use the name Enoch. Hanok in Hebrew translates to Enoch . Some translations use a different spelling such as Hencoch or Hanoch.

Enoch was the great-great-great-great-grandson of Adam. Genesis 5:2224 says, After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. Enoch walked faithfully with God then he was no more, because God took him away. Enoch was also the great-great-grandfather of Noah.

We can also find more text on Enoch in the Hall of Faith found in Hebrews 11:5: By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: He could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.

It is interesting to note that most assume being taken away is what Enoch is most well-known foras well as Elijah. Both men were the only two people the Bible references in which they were chosen by God to escape death. Enoch appears to have been given this privilege because he walked faithfully with God and pleased God. The Bible doesnt mention the purpose of God taking Enoch to heaven but the most common assumption is that he could serve as one of the two witnesses as part of the End Times. The other witness is assumed to the prophet Elijah.

    Too Much Or Just Enoch

You know how every couple of years, comic book companies will do a hard reset on their characters so they won’t have to keep up with complicated, alienating canon? That might be a good starting point.

The Book of Enoch contains several sections, including a portion called the Book of the Watchers. Here, the author details Enoch’s vision of heaven and the fall of a subsect of angels who would go on to interbreed with human beings, creating a race called the Nephilim: supernatural, man-eating, cannibalistic, vampiric giants. It was all very hat-on-a-hat. Other additions included the angel Azazel teaching humans how to make swords, God’s orders to have the rebelling angels bound and imprisoned, and a long-winded explanation for why the Great Flood was a pretty cool idea.

Needless to say, there were a lot of big thoughts and at least a couple of hot screenplay concepts in there. But grand ideas get you grand opposition, and early theologians branded some of Enoch’s ideas as heretical. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, of particular concern were prophecies involving the birth of a messiah, which didn’t sit well with the Jewish community. That, surprisingly, seems to be what got the ball rolling on ditching the texts, not the inclusion of blood-sucking kaiju monsters.

What Were The Historical Reasons Why The Book Of Enoch Was Excluded From Most Christian Canons

Why was the book of Enoch Really Removed from the bible? What they don’t want you to know video

    According to Wikipedia:

What were the historical reasons for the exclusion?

    • 1Regardless of “canonicity” it has long struck me that one can’t really understand a lot of the NT without understanding Enoch. user10231Aug 7 ’16 at 0:08
    • 1In order for something to be excluded, it has to be present there first. But since the book was of late authorship, it never made it, for chronological reasons, into either the Septuagint or the Masoretic, both of which predate Christianity.

First Enoch stands alone among the Jewish apocalypses for length, diversity, and richness.1 No other ancient non-canonical work influenced the Jewish world of the first century as much as Enoch.2 With its interest in suffering, evil, demons, and the Last Judgment, Enoch helps bridge the gap in life and thought between Malachi and Matthew. In addition, Enoch provides the modern world with insights into a tumultuous period in Jewish history.

    Overview Of First Enoch

The first book of Enoch has five sections. James H. Charlesworth outlines the book as follows:

    1. Book of the Watchers 2. Book of the Similitudes 3. Book of the Astronomical Writings 4. Book of the Dream Visions 5. Book of the Epistle of Enoch

Chapters 1-5 provide a short introduction of Enoch and speak to the major themes of rewards, punishment, the end of the world and final judgment. Book 1 includes chapters 6-36 and is primarily about angels, the Tree of Life, Jerusalem, and the universe. Book 2 includes chapters 37-71 and deals with the One, the Son of God, or the Messiah, resurrection, the flood, Noah, future judgment, and paradise. Book 3 includes chapters 72-82 which deal with the stars, moon, astronomy, the universe, and Enochs mission. Book IV includes chapters 83-90 which concern predictions about the flood, a historical sketch, the future of Israel, and the messianic kingdom. Book V includes chapters 91-105 that deal with various challenges for the wicked and righteous. The concluding chapters of 106-108 discuss the sin after the flood until the coming of the Messiah.

    • The pope has no power over Purgatory. Papal indulgences do not remove guilt.
    • Buying indulgences gives people a false sense of security and endangers their salvation.

The Book Of Enoch Mentions Noah

Enoch chapter 10 verses one through three mentions Noah even though the Bible teaches that Enoch was taken up to heaven years before Noah was born.

It states that then the Most Holy and great one spoke, in the presence of Uriel to Lamechs son. Lamech and said to him: go to Noah and tell him about the flood. In my name, hide and told him about the time that the entire earth will collapse. A deluge is scheduled to hit the entire earth, and it will wipe out everything that is there.

The Bible never states that Enoch returned to earth after he was translated to heaven, so if he wrote the Book of Enoch. How could he have known about Noah and the flood?

How Was It Decided What Books Of Bible Would Be Included

Was the Book of Enoch removed from the Bible?

The term canon is used to describe the books of the Bible that are divinely inspired by God. Determining what is divinely inspired was a process that first began by Jewish rabbis and scholars. Even though human beings began this process, it should be noted God ultimately decided what belonged in the Bible. It was a matter of God directing and inspiring not only the writers of the Bible but those who began the process of determining which books belonged in the Bible. This process began with the canon of the Hebrew Scripture.

The first canon was the Muratorian canon which was compiled in AD 170 which included all of the New Testament except James, Hebrews, John 3 and 1 and 2 Peter. The first canon was the Muratorian Canon, which was compiled in AD 170.

The Muratorian Canon included all of the New Testament books except Hebrews, James, 1 and 2 Peter, and 3 John. In AD 363, the Council of Laodicea considered the Old Testament and 26 books of the New Testament as canonical and to be read in churches. This included nearly everything except Revelations. Later, the Council of Hippo and the Council of Carthage also affirmed all 27 books of the New Testament to be divinely inspired.

Jesus Said The Book Of Enoch Is Scripture

    Published by Forerunner62 on October 23, 2020October 23, 2020

In this article Im will prove to you conclusively from the words and from the mouth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ himself, that the book of Enoch is scripture.

    Matthew 22 verses 23 through 29

In a discussion about the resurrection it says, that same day Jesus was approached bysome Sadducees, religious leaders who say there is no resurrection from the dead. They posed this question, Teacher Moses said if a man dies without children and his brother should marry the widow and have a child who will carry on the brothers name.Well suppose there were seven brothers and the oldest one married and then diedwithout children so his brother married the widow but the second brother also diedand the third brother married her this continued with all seven of them. Last of all the woman also died.

So tell us, whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For all seven were married to her. AndJesus replied, Your mistake is that YOU DONT KNOW THE SCRIPTURES, and you dont know the power of God.

For when the dead rise they will neither marry nor be given in marriage in this respectthey will be like the angels in heaven.

What scripture is Jesus talking about?

Hes talking about the book of Enoch

Its the only book where youre gonna find this. Its not in the canon. Its not in thepseudographica. Its in the apocryphain the book of Enoch.

Made To Make One Think About Jesus

When I read from the book of Enoch it does make me wish I were there to observe even more just what is occurring! Sometimes I realise the reason why I stop reading is because I feel I have felt like I am being left out of so much of the real occurrences and I foolishly become a bit jealous and then I find it hard to meld back into the picture of what is going on but in this bible it is easier to keep oneself where I am because I feel pulled in and welcomed into the environ ment and then I can understand the verses a great deal better! It ie easier to know Where each individual speaks, their actions and their reactions! Margaret L. Matthews June 13, 2021
